Television actors are often spotted in a variety of shows. This is particularly true for the cast of The Vampire Diaries. The show's fantastic cast members have helped build a supernatural world that still manages to captivate fans even years after its run.
From Lost to supernatural shows like True Blood and Charmed, these shows have long been celebrated by their respective fan base. Some even feature multiple The Vampire Diaries characters throughout the seasons.
Degrassi: The Next Generation Had Nina Dobrevs Breakout Role
Nina Dobrev is best known for playing the lead role, Elena Gilbert, in The Vampire Diaries. Her best-known role outside of The Vampire Diaries is a teen drama series that she took on before The Vampire Diaries. Dobrev's breakout role was Mia Jones in the long-running Degrassi revival series, Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Dobrev's Mia Jones is a model who started out as one of the show's recurring characters.

Nearly six years after Degrassi: The Next Generation wrapped in 2015, co-creator Linda Schuyler and stars Stefan Brogren, Aislinn Paul, Shane Kippel, Luke Bilyk, Munro Chambers, Lauren Collins and more reunited to celebrate the series’ lasting impact.
The Degrassi: The Next Generation reunion kicked off this year’s Atx Television Festival on Friday. For many of the cast members, reuniting with their on-screen classmates was just like meeting with longtime school buddies as they reminisced on favorite moments from the teen drama.
“What a joy it is to be reminded of those scenes we’ve done together over the years,” Schuyler told her team.
From scenes about sexuality and abortion to mental health issues, Schuyler and the Degrassi cast reflected on how the series unapologetically tackled controversial topics, which often caused more of a stir in the United States than in Canada when they first aired. Today’s shows like Euphoria,...

You may think you’ve already done had yourses, but you haven’t unless you’ve turned your gaze northward for “Canada’s Drag Race.” The new series kicked off July 2nd featuring Canadian model Stacey McKenzie, Canadian television star Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman and Rpdr season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes as season-long judges.
In last week’s sixth episode, the seven remaining queens divided into three groups for an acting challenge where they spoofed late night law firm commercials. In the end, Rita Baga earned her third overall win, making her a clear frontrunner as the field of queens narrowed. In the bottom two were Ilona Verley and Boa, and after a rather reserved lip sync Ilona squeaked out another win, securing her safety and eliminating Boa in the process.

Drake’s former castmates from “Degrassi: The Next Generation” had a blast reuniting for his latest video, “I’m Upset,” shot this past weekend in downtown Toronto from the Air Canada Centre, where the rap star’s beloved Raptors play basketball, in addition to the Degrassi set in north Toronto, where the long-running teen drama still films.
He released the video Wednesday night and it already has more than 2.5 million views on YouTube.
From 2001 to 2009, Drake, then known by his birth name Aubrey Graham, played Jimmy Brooks in the series, a rich kid who ends up in a wheelchair after getting shot.
He appeared in over 100 episodes, and again in “Degrassi: Minis” (2005-2007). He also released his first mixtape, “Room For Improvement,” in 2007.

We’re just days away from the return of ‘Degrassi,’ and a huge reveal for Zoe!
Degrassi‘s newest mean girl has a deep, dark secret! Zoe Rivas (Ana Golja), who joined the Degrassi kids in Paris during the first half of season 13, becomes a full-time student when the show returns Oct. 3 on Teen Nick — and in this first-look clip, obtained exclusively by HollywoodLife.com, we learn she’s got something to hide.
After an awkward welcome from closeted West Drive fan Principal Simpson (Stefan Brogren), Zoe complains about having to enroll at the “steaming hell hole,” formerly known as the Degrassi Community School.
“You’re 15; if you’re not working, you have to be in school,” her mom tells her.
“What if everyone finds out why I got kicked off the show?” asks a concerned Zoe.

Brogren Mourns Hope's Death
Canadian actor Stefan Brogren has paid tribute to his Degrassi: The Next Generation co-star Neil Hope after news of his 2007 death broke on Thursday.
Hope, who played Wheels in the Canadian teen TV franchise, was 35 when he passed away in 2007 from natural causes, but his relatives chose not to report his death at the time.
They have since confirmed the tragedy and his former fiancee, Christina Boulard, has released a statement explaining, "The family regrets to announce that Neil passed away in Hamilton, Ontario on November 25, 2007 of natural causes.
"There was some confusion regarding his passing that they do not wish to go public with, which is why they are only announcing his death now to the public and the media."
Brogren has taken to his Twitter.com page to acknowledge the reports, writing, "Sad day for Degrassi. Rip Neil."
Meanwhile, Stephen Stohn, an executive producer on the show, also tweeted, "We have respected the privacy of the family by not saying anything until now, but our entire team is very emotional about his passing."
Hope shot to fame in the 1980s on Degrassi Junior High and reprised his role with appearances on Degrassi High, Degrassi: The Next Generation, and Degrassi Talks. A memorial is being planned for May.

The TV Addict: Having recently had the pleasure of sneaking a peek at Sunday’s episode (And yes, we’re well aware how awesome our job can be!) we can assure you that this weekends much-anticipated return of hit CBS series is sooooooo worth the wait. And while we’re not about to spoil the outcome of Wendy Scott-Carr’s increasingly intrusive investigation into Will Gardner’s on court activities, we will alert you to the fact that sparks will fly. Specifically between Alicia and Peter, who have exchange so tense, it would make Jackie blush! Also of note for fans of Archie Panjabi is a confrontation between Kalinda and Monica Raymond’s Dana that gets a little physical. Read into that what you will.

It's no secret there are a ton of aspiring Canadian actors toiling away in Hollywood. After all, before they become the next Ryan Reynolds or Rachel McAdams, they've got to start somewhere. CTV/MuchMusic's latest show, "The L.A. Complex," follows the lives of six aspiring Canadian entertainers living in a run-down apartment-style hotel in La-La Land. The dreamers range from girl-next-door actress Abby ("Degrassi"s Cassie Steele) to nerdy nice-guy comedian Nick (Joe Dinicol) to bitter acting vet Raquel ("Firefly"'s Jewel Staite).
The show is already generating a ton of buzz, and has even been picked up by Us network The CW. We caught up with executive producer/director/writer Martin Gero ("Young People F**king," "Bored to Death") to find out how the show differs from "Degrassi," what it's like working with director Stefan 'Snake' Brogren from the original "Degrassi," and how "Bored to Death" fans can get...

Please tell me this somewhat lacklustre season of Dexter gets better? — Richie
The TV Addict: If by better you mean more bloody, you’ll certainly enjoy the unexpected shooting of one of this season’s special guest stars that occurs sometime during the next two episodes. And if you don’t, well, there’s always the final scene one week from this Sunday that — as much as we hate to employ such an overused term of “game changer” — really will turn Dexter’s world completely and 100% upside-down.
Any chance Penny might get a little love this season? As much as I enjoy The Big Bang Theory, I’ve always found it somewhat illogical that the best Kaley Cuoco’s character can do is Leonard? — Dylan

If the success of Nina Dobrev, Shenae Grimes and Landon Liboiron have taught us anything, it’s that not all Degrassi stars are created equal. Yet what is it about the iconic Canadian series that has allowed so many talented young actors to successfully transition to bigger and arguably better things? No one is more qualified to answer that question than executive producer Stefan Brogren, who since graduating himself from the original series in 1989 has spent the better part of 10 years shepherding the “Next Generation” to infinity and beyond courtesy of what he calls the best theater school money can’t buy.
“I think it has a lot to do with the show’s caring environment that allows young actors to flourish,” admitted Brogren when asked what it is about Degrassi that has turned it into such a powerful star-making vehicle. “Our kids are getting a lot of education while...
