Kristin Herrera's departure from Zoey 101 was abrupt, with rumors of her being too old for the role and bullying accusations circulating. The younger sister of legendary pop star Britney Spears, Jamie Lynn's two seasons on All That proved she had a knack for comedy. Zoey 101 capitalized on Jamie Lynn's popularity with a show about a group of teens navigating life at a prestigious California boarding school.

The controversy surrounding Spears' pregnancy overshadowed the final episodes of season 4, which didn't start airing until January 2008. Despite calls to shelve the season, Nickelodeon aired it. Talks about a Zoey 101 reboot had been happening for years before Zoey 102 premiered in 2023.

Zoey 101 has become a hot topic of conversation in 2023 following the release of a revival movie, Zoey 102, on Paramount+, and many are re-examining why the television series was canceled in the first place. The show starring Jamie Lynn Spears as the titular character premiered in January 2005 and was an immediate hit for Nickelodeon. A movie sequel to “Zoey 101,” the 2005 Nickelodeon series starring Jamie Lynn Spears, is coming to Paramount+.

The streamer announced the film, tentatively titled “Zoey 102,” on Thursday. The movie, which will premiere on Paramount+ later this year, stars Spears and several former cast members of the series, including Erin Sanders, Sean Flynn, Matthew Underwood, Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore.

The original series, created and executive produced by Dan Schneider, aired for four seasons from 2005 to 2008 and focused on Zoey, a middle schooler who attends boarding school at the fictional Pacific Coast Academy in Southern California. The film will focus on a reunion between Zoey and her friends at a wedding.

Although “Zoey 101” was popular during its original run, receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Children’s Programming for its first season, accusations about on-set drama during the series’ production have made the show’s revival a dicier proposition.

Another popular Nickelodeon series of yesteryear is being revived for Paramount+.

Fans and Hollywood industryites took to the online world today to mourn the end of Supernatural, wrapping its run after its upcoming 15th season, which will consist of 20 episodes.

“Reeker” is an interesting take on a slasher film. The decade of the slasher has long past so most films that take on that sub-genre are repetitions of previous movies that many of us have long watched. I was impressed that “Reeker” took a formula that has been beaten to death and added a nice twist to it.

“Reeker” centers on a bunch of young adults stranded in a desert rest stop only to be soon attacked by a mysterious creature while they are all having visions.
