In 1989, a film with a bonkers premise was released in theaters and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Look Who's Talking, by writer/director Amy Heckerling, helped launch John Travolta back to Hollywood stardom, but it was a project that almost didn't happen. Look Who's Talking is a romantic comedy with a basic plot: Mollie Jensen gets pregnant after she has an affair with one of her clients. On the day of Mikey's birth, Mollie jumps into a taxicab, and the driver, James, is mistaken for the baby's father. After a while, he becomes Mikey's father figure, babysitter, and Mollie's lover.

Sounds like a regular comedy, right? Well, it isn't. From the conception of the fetus, viewers listen to the precocious thoughts of the baby. No one else can hear the baby but the audience, who are treated to none other than Bruce Willis' voice as the baby.

Clueless, a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma, continues to be remembered for its enjoyable characters and amusing satirical take on young adults and teen film tropes. The Clueless cast, including Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, and Paul Rudd, defined a generation and went on to have successful careers in the entertainment industry. The characters in Clueless, such as Cher Horowitz, Dionne Davenport, and Tai Frasier, resonate with audiences due to their relatable coming-of-age storylines and memorable performances.

We love Clueless more than is probably acceptable, so when we heard that director Amy Heckerling is working on a jukebox musical we got seriously excited (and even started breaking in our purple clogs in preparation).

But one big question remains - who's going to be in the production? After all, Heckerling admitted that casting would be the biggest issue, so we started thinking about who could step into the iconic roles of Cher, Josh, Tai, Elton et al. Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have spent nearly a decade developing their comic voice. And it’s got slightly better since Tom Goes to the Mayor, but often the duo will go weird for a punchline. It’s still early in the year but I sure hope I don’t see a worse film in 2012 than the new anti-comedy Tim And Eric’S Billion Dollar Movie. Not since Tom Green has a supposed funnyman (or in this case, funnymen) been so self-indulgently persistent in testing a moviegoer’s patience. The film, which makes last year’s Bucky Larson Born To Be A Star look like Oscar bait, opens with a poorly made commercial spoof featuring Jeff Goldblum as Chef Goldblum hawking theater seats which inject users with drugs. I wish my seat would have injected me with something to put me to sleep so I wouldn’t have suffered through the rest of this movie. Having watched five seasons of "Tim and Eric, Awesome Show Great Job!" -- the irreverent, awkward comedy show on Adult Swim -- you half-expect that an in-person interview with the duo is all part of some elaborate prank that will end with you having a giant bucket of puke dumped on your head. In truth, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, the creators of "Awesome Show" and stars of the upcoming spinoff, "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie," are totally normal guys. The comedy style that Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have perfected over five years on their completely bizarre Cartoon Network sketch comedy series "Tim and Eric, Awesome Show Great Job!" goes something like this: they dress up in funny outfits, get a bunch of celebrities (including Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Ted Danson, and Zach Galifianakis) to do the same, layer on screechy or slurpy sound effects, liberally punctuate with lots of screaming or crying, round out the cast with actors that look like they're either homeless or have been rescued from an insane asylum, and edit the entire thing like it's from some psychedelic version of a 1980s cable access channel.
