In 1989, a film with a bonkers premise was released in theaters and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Look Who's Talking, by writer/director Amy Heckerling, helped launch John Travolta back to Hollywood stardom, but it was a project that almost didn't happen. Look Who's Talking is a romantic comedy with a basic plot: Mollie Jensen gets pregnant after she has an affair with one of her clients. On the day of Mikey's birth, Mollie jumps into a taxicab, and the driver, James, is mistaken for the baby's father. After a while, he becomes Mikey's father figure, babysitter, and Mollie's lover.
Sounds like a regular comedy, right? Well, it isn't. From the conception of the fetus, viewers listen to the precocious thoughts of the baby. No one else can hear the baby but the audience, who are treated to none other than Bruce Willis' voice as the baby.

Clueless, a modern adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma, continues to be remembered for its enjoyable characters and amusing satirical take on young adults and teen film tropes. The Clueless cast, including Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, and Paul Rudd, defined a generation and went on to have successful careers in the entertainment industry. The characters in Clueless, such as Cher Horowitz, Dionne Davenport, and Tai Frasier, resonate with audiences due to their relatable coming-of-age storylines and memorable performances.

We love Clueless more than is probably acceptable, so when we heard that director Amy Heckerling is working on a jukebox musical we got seriously excited (and even started breaking in our purple clogs in preparation).
But one big question remains - who's going to be in the production? After all, Heckerling admitted that casting would be the biggest issue, so we started thinking about who could step into the iconic roles of Cher, Josh, Tai, Elton et al. Below are some of our suggestions, but let us know who you think should get involved.
Cher (Alicia Silverstone) - Kiernan Shipka
Admittedly, our first thought for Cher was Taylor Swift, because she's our first thought for most things. But actually, wouldn't Kiernan Shipka be ace as Cher? She's proved that she has serious acting chops thanks to her stint in Mad Men, but we'd like her to show off her...

If you.re of a certain age, Amy Heckerling.s 1995.s teen comedy Clueless is a definitive piece of cinema. It both captured and defined a particular moment in popular culture, and beyond, and introduced the world to Alicia Silverstone and Paul Rudd. And it also made people say "as if" too much. But it could have been a very different movie as there were a slew of young actresses in line for the lead role of Cher, including Angelina Jolie. To mark the 20th anniversary of Clueless, Vanity Fair published an expert from Jen Chaney.s oral history of the update of Jane Austen.s novel Emma (for as different as they are, the two are remarkably similar). Over the course of the interviews, which include Heckerling, Silverstone, Rudd, producer Twink Caplan (who also plays Miss Geist), and tons of other players, it comes out that not only was...

Fans of the classic 1995 teen comedy Clueless will want to check out this week’s episode of TV Land’s The Exes. It will reteam series star Donald Faison with guest star Stacey Dash, marking a Clueless reunion of one of the ’90s’ cutest couple Murray and Dionne, who were adorkable before Zooey Deschanel was a blip on the pop culture radar. It’s not the first time the Clueless cast has gotten back together. Last year Faison and Dash joined Alicia Silverstone, Breckin Meyer, Elisa Donovan, Justin Walker and Twink Caplan for an Entertainment Weekly photoshoot and a Good Morning America [...]

Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have spent nearly a decade developing their comic voice. And it’s got slightly better since Tom Goes to the Mayor, but often the duo will go weird for a punchline. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. They are – by definition - scattershot, but they have a certain appeal. As someone skeptical of their talents, Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie did not win me over. It’s got moments, but it’s about as clever as a Naked Gun sequel. Our review of the Blu-ray of Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie follows after the jump. The film starts with a jokey opening where Jeff Goldblum (as Chef Goldblum) makes a cameo, and it sets the tone for weird over actual jokes. Tim and Eric (playing themselves, sort of) directed a movie that cost a billion dollars to make, but...

When life grants you a news item about Alicia Silverstone's love of chewing up sorghum and mouth-feeding it to her infant, you have two options: 1) Sit around and think about the gamey taste of Alicia Silverstone's kind saliva or 2) relish the resurgence (regurgitation?) of Alicia Silverstone in pop culture and totally re-watch Clueless. It has aged like a yellow-plaid version of the Hope Diamond, kids, stunning and streamlined even now. As we learned with Nine to Five last week, it's time we started awarding the mantle of "best movie ever" to films that actually matter to us. The movies we revisit, with ease. The movies that have nothing to do with bold auteurism or Charles Foster Kane, but important matters like bold humor, funny women, strong outfits, confidence, unpretentious smarts, and best of all, funny women again. Clueless may look and sound like a feature-length Luscious Jackson video set in Holmby Hills,...

It’s still early in the year but I sure hope I don’t see a worse film in 2012 than the new anti-comedy Tim And Eric’S Billion Dollar Movie. Not since Tom Green has a supposed funnyman (or in this case, funnymen) been so self-indulgently persistent in testing a moviegoer’s patience. The film, which makes last year’s Bucky Larson Born To Be A Star look like Oscar bait, opens with a poorly made commercial spoof featuring Jeff Goldblum as Chef Goldblum hawking theater seats which inject users with drugs. I wish my seat would have injected me with something to put me to sleep so I wouldn’t have suffered through the rest of this movie. The “plot”, such as it is, of Tim And Eric’S Billion Dollar Movie begins with Tim and Eric having been given a billion dollars by shady studio exec Tommy Schlaaang...

Having watched five seasons of "Tim and Eric, Awesome Show Great Job!" -- the irreverent, awkward comedy show on Adult Swim -- you half-expect that an in-person interview with the duo is all part of some elaborate prank that will end with you having a giant bucket of puke dumped on your head. In truth, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, the creators of "Awesome Show" and stars of the upcoming spinoff, "Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie," are totally normal guys. The film, which hits theaters in limited release this weekend, follows the duo as they try to repay their billion-dollar debt by re-opening a suburban mall. Poop gags, uncomfortable sex scenes and plenty of fake blood soon follow. Moviefone recently sat down with Tim and Eric to discuss "Billion Dollar Movie," jokes they consider off-limits, creating awkward comedy, and the walkouts that happened during their film's premiere at Sundance.

The following is a reprint of our review from Sundance.
The comedy style that Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim have perfected over five years on their completely bizarre Cartoon Network sketch comedy series "Tim and Eric, Awesome Show Great Job!" goes something like this: they dress up in funny outfits, get a bunch of celebrities (including Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Ted Danson, and Zach Galifianakis) to do the same, layer on screechy or slurpy sound effects, liberally punctuate with lots of screaming or crying, round out the cast with actors that look like they're either homeless or have been rescued from an insane asylum, and edit the entire thing like it's from some psychedelic version of a 1980s cable access channel. One of the assets of the show was that the episodes were only fifteen minutes long, so if you were disturbed, by, say, Will Ferrell playing a...
