Season 3 of the hit TV series Invincible has finally returned for its third season, which has been suggested to be the biggest one yet - the show has heavily teased the "Invincible Wars" comic arc. With everything gearing up towards Mark Grayson’s (Steven Yeun) biggest battle yet, fans are surely already thinking of Season 4.

After the long wait for Season 2, fans doubtlessly still have some nerves about having to put in another long wait for the fourth outing. This fear can be assuaged a little, as it's been confirmed that development on the season 4 is already underway with one major cast member already having put in some time in the studio.

The days of controlling Iris (Sophie Thatcher) are over, and the critics love it. The first reviews for the new AI horror film Companion are beginning to pour in, and director Drew Hancock’s thought-provoking flick currently registers an impressive 96% on the Tomatometer with 23 reviews posted to Rotten Tomatoes. In fact, MovieWeb’s own review of Companion (4.5/5 stars) declares that “the first great film of 2025 stuns in every regard.”

Meagan Navarro of Bloody Disgusting didn't enjoy the sci-fi thriller quite as much (3.5/5 stars), but the writer openly praises the film’s actors: “It’s not the plot that keeps you guessing, but the vibrant ensemble cast committed to Hancock’s zany break-up movie.” Patrick Cavanaugh specifically singles out Thatcher’s performance as the jilted AI companion, Iris, in his review for ComicBook.com:

It won't be long before new episodes of Invincible are streaming on Prime Video. Premiere dates have been revealed for the upcoming episodes that make up Season 3, and they come with a new look at Mark Grayson's upgraded blue suit.

As shared in an image posted to X by the official account for Invincible, Season 3's first three episodes will drop simultaneously on Feb. 6. This will be followed by Episode 4 on Feb. 13; Episode 5 on Feb. 20; Episode 6 on Feb. 27; Episode 7 on Mar. 6; and the season finale on Mar. 13. It won't be the end of the series, as Invincible was previously renewed through Season 4. A look at the post, which includes an image of Mark in his blue suit, can be seen below.

Since debuting in 2013, the DC Extended Universe has been one disaster after another for Warner Brothers. Massive critical and fan backlash, constant shake-ups in creative direction, and increasingly dwindling box office plagued the once promising franchise before it was finally put out of its misery by The Flash; though Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom might still be canon depending on who you ask.

Yet at the same time, WB has helped spearhead another cinematic universe that might be the only one besides Marvel to work out in the long run. The Monsterverse: a series of films and TV shows adapting beloved Japanese kaiju such as Godzilla, alongside original monsters and American icon King Kong for good measure.

Ahead of Argylle's theatrical premiere, the film's early reviews from critics have resulted in a record low at Rotten Tomatoes for director Matthew Vaughn.

On the review aggregator website, Argylle has launched with a debut score of 37%, declaring the movie to be "rotten." This is the record low for films directed by Matthew Vaughn, falling beneath 2021's The King's Man's score of 40%. Vaughn only has one other film that's been labeled as rotten at Rotten Tomatoes, which is 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle. That movie's score is 50%, while the next lowest score for Vaughn is the original film in the franchise, 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service, which is certified fresh at 75%.

The critics are unanimous in their love for True Detective: Night Country.

Serving as the fourth season of True Detective, HBO's anthology series that introduces a new cast and storyline with each season, Night Country will officially premiere on Jan. 14. Ahead of the series premiere, early reviews from critics have given the new season a debut score of 100% at Rotten Tomatoes. This is based on 27 reviews from Rotten Tomatoes-approved critics, as each one of them had high praise for the series. This is also the highest score of any True Detective season on Rotten Tomatoes, surpassing Season 1's 91%, Season 2's 47%, and Season 3's 84% ratings.

Leprechaun director Mark Jones reveals there is a director's cut of the horror-comedy, originally intended to be a comedy-horror. The film was initially planned as a kid's horror movie with a comedic twist, similar to live-action Scooby-Doo, but the studio wanted more violence. The biggest difference between the director's version and the theatrical release is the amount of violence, with cute scenes being removed.

During an exclusive chat with ComicBook.com, Leprechaun director Mark Jones discussed his 1993 classic and revealed that there is a director's cut of the horror-comedy.

Two star-studded films have emerged as the frontrunners in ticket presales: Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of the classic Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s historical epic, Oppenheimer. A big save after the Hollywood realm has recently been marred by big-budget flops like The Flash and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

While Warner Bros. anticipates a robust $90 million opening for Barbie, it's Nolan's exploration of the atomic bomb's inception under Universal Pictures that's catching the critical acclaim.

While critics agree that “Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard” might offer the entertainment of watching Samuel L. Jackson swear incessantly, the film’s reviews suggest that the film’s lack of a plot is not made up for through its stale and overused humor.

Reviews from early Wednesday agree that the sequel to the 2017 film “The Hitman’s Bodyguard,” has even less going for it than the original — besides the fact that it opens during a time when audiences are eager to head the movie theaters after a long haitus.

TheWrap’s own Alonso Duralde wrote, “’Hitman’s Wife Bodyguard’ is a comedy with not one legitimate laugh, and an action movie where cars keep blowing up while the A-listers yell at each other, as though that were inherently amusing or entertaining. Horror is the genre of the moment this weekend as The Conjuring 3 and A Quiet Place 2 terrorized the top of the movie charts. And the race to be the top box office draw could not have been more nerve-shredding, with The Conjuring 3 only just leading the pack. What is impressive for A Quiet Place Part II is that this is its second week of release, but it is clearly still pulling in strong enough audiences to challenge the James Wan-produced Conjuring sequel on its opening weekend.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It won the top spot away from A Quiet Place Part II, but the margin wasn't wide between them. The third Conjuring movie, which is actually the 8th movie in the overall franchise, made $24 million over the three day weekend. A Quiet Place Part II still proved to have legs, coming in second with $19.5 million.

Many horror fans could not believe their luck when it was announced that both Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson had added their names and talents to a Saw spin-off. With many expecting something different to what has come before in the franchise, how has Spiral: From the Book of Saw fared with critics now that the first reviews are out?

Beginning with Meagan Navarro of Bloody Disgusting, who gave the movie an impressive 4 out of 5, Spiral does indeed add something different to the long-running Saw formula, subverting expectations and taking the franchise in a whole new direction.

"Spiral brings style and substance, with a few chuckles to balance the gore. For this standalone entry, Bousman subverts familiarity and reinvigorates the franchise by evolving the universe."

On the heels of an overall synopsis for the second half of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s fourth season and a breakdown of the first episode back, we now have this intriguing tease for the following week’s installment, which is titled “The Patriot.” As many Marvel Comics fans rightfully guessed around the time he debuted on the show, the team’s new director Jeffrey Mace (Irish actor Jason O’Mara) is actually based on a character called the Patriot – a Golden Age superhero first introduced in the ’40s, who actually served under the mantle of Captain America for a time.

Actor and comedy legend Leslie Nielsen sadly passed away recently, and as if by magic the films that remained on the shelf for so long suddenly burst into the fore as everyone trys to score a quick cash-in.

The first of which, in Nielsen’s case, is Stonerville… Yeah, don’t hold out much hope folks – this is a film about a YouTube celebrity, and also stars Pauly Shore. Hmmmm. According to reports, Screen Media Films have acquired the ”comedy” and will release it on DVD next month.

Stonerville is released straight to DVD in the Us on January 11th 2011.

Straight-to-dvd comedies starring Pauly Shore, Patrick Cavanaugh and Phil Morris usually don't rise to the level of mention. But when one of the stars is late comic actor Leslie Nielsen, appearing in his last role, the release does have some anticipation attached to it. Screen Media, which is distributing the film on disc, has announced a Jan. 11 DVD release date for the film. It's available for pre-order on Amazon for $22.49. Canadian-born Nielsen, star of "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun" movies, died on Nov. 28 in Florida at the age of 84.

Only five episodes in, "Mad Men's" fourth season has already proven to be one of the series' strongest, and definitely its most entertaining. But unlike its predecessors, "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword's" competing narratives had decidedly stronger competing tones. There was drama at the agency, but also plenty of hijinks and laughs -- like "The West Wing" during its Sorkin years. But back at the Draper and Francis residences? "Mommie Dearest." The experience on the family side of things reminded me of reading Jonathan Franzen's brilliant The Corrections, which was both enjoyable and miserable. I knew I was reading an impressive piece of fiction, but I couldn't help but feel like it was a punishment. Perhaps in "Mad Men," the dissonance was more acute this time because the storylines shared an episode, scenes alternating between the drama of Don and Betty's kids and that of Sterling Cooper Draper Price.

Transylmania, the latest comedy outing from Dorm Daze creators David and Scott Hillenbrand, is finally making its long awaited DVD debut on April 27th. The film reunites the cast from National Lampoon's Dorm Daze franchise, and finds a motley crew of college students embarking on the wildest, sexiest, most outrageous semester abroad ever at famed Romanian cultural outpost Razvan University. Located deep in the heart of the "cursed land" of Transylvania in a centuries-old castle, Razvan isn't your typical institution of higher learning. And the black leather-clad professors, three-foot-tall dean, instruction in crucifix-wielding, and topless vampiresses lurking in dark corners are just the start in this laugh riot that ignites the screen with sexiness. Horror-comedy dud Transylmania is hitting DVD through Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on April 27. Special features include a filmmaker and cast commentary, an alternate opening and ending (with optional commentary), deleted scenes (with optional commentary), a gag reel, a behind-the-scenes featurette and a "stoner" trailer. Directed by David Hillenbrand and Scott Hillenbrand - and starring a cast which features Musetta Vander, James DeBello, Patrick Cavanaugh and Tony Denman - Transylmania opened on just over a 1,000 screens in December and grossed an estimated $397,641. This is going to be a great month. No matter whether these big and small movies fall flat on their faces or not there’s going to be plenty to choose from – especially for those who want to keep up with important films.

First up is Avatar, one of the biggest gambles of this decade. Will the same kind of crowd that saw The Dark Knight or Transformers multiple times venture to movie theatres to see a 150-minute-long 3-D film that features tall blue creatures? It’s up in the air.

In this clip from the set of new comedy in production, ‘Brand Dead,’ Pauly discusses how he feels like he belongs on set “with the grips and craft services” and really enjoys acting again after doing a lot of stand-up recently.
