Back in the early 2000s, Rockstar would often generate their own controversies in order to create public interest. In fact, they even went as far as to hire publicist Max Clifford to disseminate false information, inciting mainstream backlash and even getting high-profile politicians involved in the controversy.
As a result, GTA was accused of some fairly heinous things back in the day, but even those accusations can’t compete with some of the genuinely bizarre, outright unfathomable lawsuits filed against the series today.
In recent years, Rockstar have gotten themselves into some series trouble, and they’re been accused of some truly weird things. Sometimes they’re found guilty and forced to pay repercussions, but most of the time, they’re acquitted. Honestly, judging by how truly absurd some of these accusations are, it’s no wonder. Freddie Starr took off his mic and walked out of an interview with Good Morning Britain today, during his first TV chat since sex abuse allegations against him were dropped.
Starr later returned to complete the interview and explained that the subject was still "so raw".
The comedian, 71, was cross when interviewer Susanna Reid asked: "You've been in showbiz 50 years - do you think over that time you have done anything that could have been misinterpreted, in terms of your relationships?"
"Are you being serious?" replied Starr, before asking Reid to leave his house and walking out of the room.
Explaining his walk-out later on, he told Reid: "It's hard to have an interview like this with it being so raw - I've only been released three days ago. I'm just catching up on my sleep."

Simon Cowell can now add "family man" to his already formidable résumé. He and girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed their son, Eric Philip, into the world last week, and Simon couldn't be more excited by his new job title: dad. Cowell had such a tight bond with his own father, Eric Cowell, that he named his firstborn after him. He shared that inspiration over Twitter, but Cowell's publicist and longtime friend, Max Clifford, tells People just how close the music mogul was to his father. "What he is striving for is to build the same relationship [with his son] over the years," Clifford says.

Lord Sugar is suing former Apprentice winner Stella English for £35,000 after she lost her constructive dismissal case against him.

London — Rolf Harris, a veteran entertainer who has released hit singles and painted Queen Elizabeth II's portrait, has been arrested as part of a police investigation into sexual abuse allegations stemming from the Jimmy Savile scandal, British media reported Friday.
Major media outlets followed The Sun newspaper in identifying Harris, an Australian-born artist, musician and television host who is a household name in Britain.

London, Jan 11 (Reuters) - The late British TV presenter Jimmy Savile physically abused hundreds of people over six decades, according to a police-led report on Friday which said he carried out attacks at the BBC and at hospitals where he did voluntary work.
Of his victims, 73 percent were under 18 and 82 percent were female. The oldest was 47 and the youngest just 8.
"Savile's offending footprint was vast, predatory and opportunistic," Commander Peter Spindler told reporters.
Savile, one of the BBC's biggest stars of the 1970s and 80s received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth for charity work. He died in 2011, aged 84, a year before allegations about his abusive behaviour emerged in a TV documentary.
Friday's report said he had committed 214 criminal offences including 34 rapes or serious sexual assaults across the country.
His offending first occurred in 1955 in the northern English city of Manchester and the last attack was in 2009, the report said.

London — Police investigating child sex abuse allegations against the late BBC television host Jimmy Savile arrested former glam rock star and convicted sex offender Gary Glitter on Sunday, British media reported, raising further questions about whether Savile was at the center of a broader pedophile ring.

The musician, whose real name is Paul Gadd, made it big with the crowd-pleasing hit "Rock & Roll (Part 2)," a mostly instrumental anthem that has been a staple at American sporting events, thanks to its catchy "hey" chorus. Rockstar can’t seem to move without making waves. With virtually every online eye focused intently on GTA V and its road to release, it looks like this time they’re working on a tsunami. Price, 33, has also admitted to having a soft spot for Simon.
"Maybe Simon Cowell could be my ideal man. I wouldn't mind a bit," she said.
However, Cowell's spokesman Max Clifford dismissed the report as a rumour while Price's rep said, it's very funny.

A revealing new biography offers intimate – some might say too intimate – details about Simon Cowell, along with a portrait of the entertainment mogul's savvy business side.
"Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell" is written by British journalist and biographer Tom Bower, whose previous subjects include former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, jailed media mogul Conrad Black and ex-Harrods owner Mohammad al-Fayed.
His latest portrait of power centers on the tanned and brush-cut Cowell, 52, who has gained fame in both Britain and North America as producer and an acerbic judge on TV talent shows including "The X Factor" and "America's Got Talent."
Bower says he became fascinated by the story of a middle-aged music producer who struck gold by turning the old-fashioned talent contest into a slick 21st-century phenomenon...

Publicist Max Clifford feels 'disappointed' with long-time client Simon Cowell for co-operating with the author of his unauthorised biography. Simon gave journalist Tom Bower 'dozens of hours' of access during his research for 'Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life Of Simon Cowell', despite his PR guru's advice to stay well away. 'When Simon decided the best thing was to co-operate, he spent dozens of hours talking to Tom Bower. 'Of course I am disappointed. We've had a very close relationship for many many years, I think the world of the guy. 'But I think we, as a team,...

Max Clifford has remarked that Tulisa Contostavlos should have dealt with speculation over her sex tape "when it all first emerged". Contostavlos confirmed yesterday that she was indeed the recorded female performing oral sex on ex-boyfriend Justin Edwards, otherwise known as grime artist Mc Ultra, in a video released online earlier this week. The 68-year-old publicist, who represents the N-Dubz star's X Factor boss Simon Cowell, told Exclusive TV: "I think that the only criticism I would have is that she should've done this when it all first emerged and nipped it in the bud. "Because it's really added to the speculation and it's dragged out something that could've been sorted out very quickly and therefore the problem became bigger in time." However, (more)...

Look out Hollywood, the video game industry is hot on your heels, poaching your talent and raking in the money. And one game has led the way…
The fastest-selling cultural product in history was created by people you've probably never heard of. While this year's Oscars honoured films in which the movie business sweetly congratulates itself on its own birth – The Artist, Hugo – the most dollar-hoovering entertainment release ever is not a film, still less an album; it's a video game. Coming out last autumn, Modern Warfare 3 – a blockbuster military shooter made by a Californian game studio called Infinity Ward – took just 16 days to gross $1bn, beating by one day the previous record set by a film about blue people in space. And it wasn't a freak accident. Global annual sales of video games now dwarf cinema box-office and recorded music: in 2010, games grossed $56bn, film tickets $32bn and music $23bn.
