Supernatural was one of the longest-running television shows that captivated fans all over the world. More than Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki’s on-screen charm as the Winchester brothers, the success of the series was determined by several factors.

Per Deadline, Euphoria star Elizabeth Posey has been tapped to play one of the leading roles in Vought Rising, which is expected to begin filming later this year. This marks Posey's first major project as a series regular, after previously making brief appearances in shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Heels. It has also been confirmed that Blue Bloods alum Will Hochman will also be joining the ensemble cast. This will be Hochman's first TV project since the long-running CBS police drama concluded its 14-season run in December 2024. While the news has created great anticipation for fans, it did not give much information about what is to come. In fact, many are not even sure if Ackles and Padalecki will even interact with each other in the series. Thankfully, the latter did talk about the same, and he seemed to be just as nervous as the views.

The actor shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the forthcoming series from One Chicago and FBI creator and executive producer Derek Haas. In the post's caption, Ackles wrote, "What a beautiful ride it has been these past 6 months. A brilliant crew, a fantastic cast and an absolutely wonderful experience."

Somewhere in Texas, Jared Padalecki is eating nothing but lean meats and vegetables and doing non-stop push-ups and sit-ups in preparation for her upcoming appearance in The Boys. After much speculation, fan casting, manifestation, and a solid heaping side of hopes and dreams, it was revealed that Padalecki would be joining the satirical superhero series for its fifth and final season. The casting not only reunites Padalecki with Supernatural creator, Eric Kripke, who also developed The Boys from comic to screen, but also his two Supernatural co-stars, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins. But, if you were hoping for Padalecki to spill the beans about how he’ll fit into the sure-to-be bonkers storyline, he’s keeping it tight-lipped — but not by choice.

The ending of The Boys is not only a mystery for fans, but also for many of its main cast members. According to star Colby Minifie, who plays Vought's publicist (and later CEO) Ashley Barrett, the final two scripts haven't even been sent out yet, despite production on the final season set to wrap in a few months.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke took everyone by surprise when he decided to wrap up the beloved superhero series with its fifth season. Many fans expected it to go on for a lot longer — I mean, Kripke is the same guy who kept Supernatural going for 15 seasons — but ultimately, ending The Boys on a high seems like a very sensible option.

It was announced last month that the final season of Prime Video's The Boys would become one big Supernatural reunion thanks to guest appearances from Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki, and now that the former Sam Winchester has had some time to digest the news, he can't help but be "effing terrified" by it. Collins and Padalecki will reunite with their Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles for the fifth and final season of the popular superhero drama, which premiered in 2019 and has thus far received high praise across the board.
Speaking with Business Insider last week at the 2025 Texas Film Awards, Padalecki – who starred with Ackles as one half of the Winchester brothers in Supernatural from 2005 to 2020 – said that at this point he has no idea what he and Collins will be doing in The Boys. Jared Padalecki is best known for his role as Sam Winchester in Supernatural, which ran for fifteen seasons. After the show concluded in 2020, Padalecki and co-star Jensen Ackles have been vocal about a reunion. The former on-screen brothers will reunite for the upcoming fifth season of The Boys, created by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.

During a recent interview, Padalecki finally broke the silence about the upcoming reunion with Ackles, who has already played Soldier Boy on the hit superhero series. However, Padalecki’s comments about his appearance in the series have me concerned as a fan of both Supernatural and The Boys. Here is what Padalecki had to say and why his comments scare me.

Supernatural star Jensen Ackles played Soldier Boy in season 3 of The Boys, and the actor who played his father in that series, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, took on the role of Joe Kessler in season 4.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke worked with both actors when he was calling the shots on Supernatural (he created the series and stepped down from his showrunner role after season 5). However, Morgan's casting left Jared Padalecki as the only one of the show's original leads who hadn't appeared in The Boys.
It's since been confirmed that the show's final season will feature a full-blown Supernatural reunion with Ackles, Padalecki, and Misha Collins all set to appear.

Jared Padalecki finds his upcoming role in “The Boys” Season 5 and reunion with “Supernatural” actor Jensen Ackles anxiety-inducing.
“I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is effing terrifying,” Padalecki said to Business Insider.
Padalecki isn’t sure of the extent to which he and Ackles, who has played Soldier Boy since Season 3, will interact in the series.
“I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we like, bump into each other. I don’t know much about it. They’re still trying to write and figure out who’s gonna be there. But it’ll be the end of this month,” Padalecki said.
Information about Padalecki’s character has not yet been announced. Another “Supernatural” actor, Misha Collins, will also be in the new season. Padalecki said that it was Eric Kripke, the “Supernatural” creator who also created “The Boys,” that got him to join the series.

Jensen Ackles has starred in many projects, but he's arguably most recognizable for the role of Dean Winchester in The CW's long-running fantasy horror series Supernatural. Since the series ended in 2020, the actor has appeared in a series of television roles and has a brand-new update about one of them.
Ackles appeared in ABC's Big Sky, CBS' Trackeras a guest star, and Prime Video's satirical superhero hit show The Boys. The latter will lead to his own spin-off prequel, Vought Rising, where he will reprise his role as Soldier Boy. Aside from The Boys and Vought Rising, Ackles has a different Prime Video show in the works: Countdown. The actor just announced on Instagram that production on Countdown Season 1 has officially wrapped and treated fans to a series of behind-the-scenes photos.

Supernatural ran for a whopping fifteen seasons, with the story of the Winchester brothers amassing a large fan following. The series was created by Eric Kripke, who served as the showrunner before departing after five seasons. However, Kripke could revisit the show’s world for the proposed revival that has frequently been discussed by the cast.

Instead of doing a traditional continuation in the form of season 16, the revival could instead follow Kripke’s original plan for the series. In an interview, the creator confirmed that he originally envisioned the concept as a movie. However, plans quickly changed, giving us the beloved long-running series. Nonetheless, a Supernatural movie makes a lot of sense now, and here is why.

It's no secret that Sam and Dean Winchester (especially Dean) love TV. The monster-hunting brothers at the center of the erstwhile CW fixture "Supernatural" made plenty of pop culture references over the course of the show's considerable run, and once they even ended up stuck in a madcap television world, guest starring on shows that borrowed from "Grey's Anatomy" and "CSI: Miami." Angel Castiel (Misha Collins) has a memorable relationship with the boob tube, too; he learned a lot about humankind while watching bad hotel-tv porn in season 6.
"Supernatural" wears its pop culture-loving heart on its sleeve, but way back in season 1, the show also dropped in some subtle "if you know, you know"-style references. Among them? A shout-out to one of the best classic episodes of "The Simpsons," dropped squarely into a dead serious scene about a kid-killing witch that's central to Dean's childhood trauma.

The following contains spoilers for Invincible season 3, episode 7, "What Have I Done?", now streaming on Prime Video
Robert Kirkman always knew Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the right man to voice Conquest in Invincible.
After season 3's penultimate episode concluded with Mark Grayson staring down a new Viltrumite foe, the Invincible creator and executive producer spoke with Entertainment Weekly about adapting his iconic battle with Conquest for animation. Morgan's voice, he admitted, was selected for this role "probably since the beginning of the show's existence.... Conquest needs a lot of nuance. There's a tremendous amount of personality there, even though he is this giant, powerful brute that's just wrecking things. And I knew Jeffrey could bring that."
Given Morgan's performance as The Walking Dead's Negan, who infamously made his debut by killing Steven Yeun's Glenn, both he and Kirkman recognized the appeal of having this fight between these two actors come full circle.

Supernatural ran for a whopping fifteen seasons with the fantasy drama series following the monster-hunting escapades of the Winchester brothers. By the time the series concluded its run, nearly every concept in its genre had been done to death. However, its meta approach to some concepts may have helped keep the Impala running for as long as it did.

Nonetheless, when looking back at the show’s now-iconic run, one season 4 episode stands out for pulling off a Deadpool-like move. The episode’s fourth-wall breaking idea might’ve hinted at the creative well running dry very early on during the show’s run. As a result, it is worth reflecting on this fan-favorite season 4 episode of Supernatural.

The episode’s fourth-wall breaking idea might’ve hinted at the creative well running dry very early on during the show’s run. As a result, it is worth reflecting on this fan-favorite season 4 episode of Supernatural.
Supernatural made a Deadpool-like move in season 4

Supernatural ran for fifteen seasons with a host of monsters, demons, and even literal Gods acting as villains for the Winchester brothers. However, Lucifer remains one of the most beloved and menacing villains in the series, initially played by Mark Pellegrino before fan-favorite Misha Collins portrayed a different iteration.

During an interview, Pellegrino discussed his work on the hit fantasy series, including his and Collins’ performance as Lucifer. The actor revealed that Collins consulted him before playing his iteration of the character, with the duo working together to maintain consistency. Here is what Pellegrino had to say about training Collins to play Lucifer in Supernatural.

It's official! The upcoming final season of Amazon Prime's The Boys will feature actors Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins as guest stars.
These actors are perhaps best known for their starring roles alongside The Boys regular, Jensen Ackles, in the cult classic 2005 show, Supernatural. With Eric Kripke being the showrunner for The Boys and the original showrunner and creator of Supernatural, it makes sense to see some actor crossover. Besides Ackles, the two shows share Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler & John Winchester), Rob Benedict (Splinter & Chuck/God), Alexander Calvert (Rufus & Jack), and Jim Beaver (Bob Singer &… Bob Singer). And those are just the big ones. At this point, the question becomes why they haven't brought on Jared and Misha sooner.
We can talk all we want about scheduling conflicts and actor fallout, and I'm sure those things definitely played a part, but I think it's bigger than that. You can...

We know that you’ve been imagining this whole brutal, no-holds-barred superhero showdown in season 5 of The Boys. Hoping for your favorite hero (or in this case anti-hero) to get their big moment. But then, imagine a trio of legends swooping in, stealing the thunder like Homelander crashing a press conference. That’s exactly how some fans might feel, now that Supernatural icons are returning in the final season of The Boys.
The iconic Supernatural trio | image: CW, Warner Bros.
After wrapping up season 4 of The Boys, showrunner Eric Kripke hinted at a reunion between Jensen Ackles and his former Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki. But now it seems, not just them, even Misha Collins is reuniting in Season 5, marking a dream-come-true moment for longtime Kripke-verse followers. However, fans can’t help but sympathize with the Og cast of The Boys, who have fought (literally and figuratively) to carve out their own spotlight,...

No, there isn’t a Supernatural reboot…yet. Prime Video’s The Boys recently stirred up excitement on social media when the hit show dropped a massive tease for its upcoming fifth and final season. It involves Days of Our Lives alum Jensen Ackles and his former Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.
They’ve Got Work To Do…Again
In a video that several Instagram accounts posted, Days alum Jensen Ackles kicked off the madness with, “Hey Jared, we got work to do…again.” The action then cut from Ackles to his Supernatural brother Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester to Ackles’s Dean Winchester. The former Walker star picked up the proverbial baton and said, “Okay, I’ll tell Misha. Misha! We got work to do.” Misha Collins wrapped things up when he responded, “Okay. What are we doing?” Finally, a page featuring The Boys title ended things with authority.

Maddie Bosch has big, lingering questions about her father, as seen in the first trailer for the third and final season of Bosch: Legacy.
At the close of Season 2, you’ll remember, Maddie (Madison Lintz) learned that her kidnapper, Kurt Dockweiler, died in prison of an overdose — likely murder via forced heroin injection. The finale ended with Maddie answering a collect call, on her dad’s phone, from inmate Preston Borders, who reported, “Tell your father that I did what he wanted…. Dockweiler. Tell him I took care of it.” Shellshocked, Maddie could barely utter, “Dad, what did you do?...

Supernatural fans rejoice! Jared Padakecki and Misha Collins are set to reunite with Jensen Ackles in The Boys season 5.
Supernatural, Eric Kripke’s monster-of-the-week series about two demon hunting brothers, was one of the biggest shows of the noughties. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles starred as Sam and Dean Winchester and were later joined by Misha Collins’ angel Castiel in their adventures. When the show came to an end in 2020, fans were devastated and Kripke went on to forcus on his acclaimed superhero show The Boys.
The Boys is currently in production for its fifth and final season. To the delight of many Supernatural fans, news has emerged that Padalecki and Collins have been cast in the new season. Combine that with the earlier casting of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Sam and Dean’s dad in Supernatural, we’ve got quite the reunion to look forward to. Jim Beaver and Rob Benedict,...

Now if you are a Supernatural fan, the title must have sounded hilarious but if you are not a Supernatural fan it must have been hella confusing. Well, rest assured no Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins are not really dating but only good friends after having met each other on the sets of the long-running horror-drama television show.

Their ‘love story’ originates from the ‘ship’ of their respective on-screen characters, Dean Winchester and the angle Castiel (or as we call it Destiel), and their adorable bromance behind the screen. One thing that fans love the best about the CW show is that the actors and crew have been more like a family than co-workers, which makes their friendship even more swoon-worthy.

TV and censorship have gone hand-in-hand for decades. However, network TV's stranglehold on the airwaves would go the way of the dodo when HBO debuted in 1972. This pay channel was the first of its kind, but most importantly, it wasn't constrained by FCC regulations dictating what it could and couldn't broadcast. This would eventually lead to more mature comedies and dramas on various platforms, ones that are typically rated mature but could be considered R-rated.
Many of the greatest TV shows of all time are R-rated, such as The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. They've used the freedom of mature content to tell more realistic stories, relating to audiences in new ways. Several of these shows, such as The Wire, have changed the landscape of television, even sparking the Golden Age of Television that led to so many amazing shows. Attention, Spn Family. You’re invited to a Supernatural reunion, though it takes an alternate form from what you’d assume. Word has come down the wire that Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are officially joining Jensen Ackles for the fifth and final season of The Boys as guest stars.
Eric Kripke, who created The Boys for television, also created Sam Winchester and Castiel, Padalecki and Collins’ respective Supernatural characters. Supernatural fans have waited years for these three to reunite, and it’s only natural for them to cross paths on The Boys before the show goes the way of the dodo.
The trio announced they’re getting the band back together via an Instagram video, proclaiming they’ve “got work to do” for The Boys Season 5. Padalecki and Collins’s roles are being kept under wraps, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start celebrating what is sure to be a momentous occasion.

The boys of Supernatural are reuniting, fittingly, on The Boys. On the surface, there might be a lot of distance between The CW weekly procedural and the R-rated hit streaming series, but the two shows come from the same creative mind, Eric Kripke. The Boys showrunner is best known as the creator of Supernatural and worked on the series for the first five seasons. Kripke has used The Boys to collaborate with many of his former actors. For the final season, Kripke is pulling out all the stops as the main trio of Supernatural will appear.

With The Boys season 5 being the last, there are naturally a few fan wishes. One of the things we wanted to see was a certain Supernatural reunion.
That wish is coming true! There’s the Supernatural team-up that is sure to bring new fans to the series and an interest in a Supernatural reboot or revival once more.
The Boys is no stranger to Supernatural reunions. There have also been a few Timeless reunions. That’s what you get when Eric Kripke created all three shows, and he loves working with actors he likes from other productions. It just took time to make schedules work for this particular reunion. He did say that a certain actor coming into the show was "the Pokémon I haven’t collected yet."

It doesn’t sound like we’re getting a Supernatural revival any time soon, but we’re getting the next best thing:
A Supernatural reunion on The Boys.
News broke on The Boys’ social media channels Wednesday afternoon that Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki had landed guest starring roles on the Prime Video hit’s fifth and final season.
(Colin Bentley/The CW)
They join Jensen Ackles, who has been a prominent character over the last few seasons as Soldier Boy.
The character’s popularity has opened the door for Jensen to co-lead an upcoming spinoff with Aya Cash.
(Bettina Strauss/The CW)
But we’re sure viewers will be most excited about seeing Jensen, Misha, and Jared together on-screen again because they were a formidable trio on the former CW drama Supernatural.
Despite ending after 15 seasons in 2020, the series remains talked about thanks to its passionate fanbase, who have...

Shortly after the fourth season of The Boys wrapped up, showrunner Eric Kripke indicated that Jensen Ackles' (Soldier Boy) former Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki might be set to join him in the upcoming fifth and final season.
Now, a new video posted to the show's X account confirms that Padalecki has indeed joined the season 5 cast... along with Misha Collins!
Supernatural starred Ackles and Padalecki as demon-hunting brothers Dean and Sam Winchester, while Collins played their angelic ally Castiel.
The Boys has also featured fellow Supernatural actors Jim Beaver (Robert Singer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler) and Rob Benedict (Splinter).
We have no idea which characters Padalecki and Collins will be playing on The Boys, but we'll be sure to update if and when the trades weigh in.

In June 2024, after a lot of fans speculating and talking online, Jared Padalecki confirmed that he will be joining the cast of The Boys for its fifth and final season. This news was a big deal, especially since Supernatural fans have long hoped for a crossover of sorts.
The Boys creator, Eric Kripke, had mentioned in the past that he would love to bring Jared Padalecki into the show. Kripke, who also worked on Supernatural, jokingly said he felt like he needed to “complete my game of Supernatural Pokémon,” referring to how he wanted to bring in the beloved Supernatural stars to his new project.
At the San Diego Comic-Con (Sdcc) in July 2024, Kripke spoke with Variety and shared some exciting updates. He said that he and Jared had been in touch, texting back and forth, discussing the possibility of Jared’s role in The Boys.
