When first cast on Lost, actor Michael Emerson played "Henry Gale," who ultimately turned out to be one of the island's "Others." The Season 2 finale revealed that he wasn't just like all the Others, but was the mysterious group's fearsome and dominating leader. Over the course of the series, Ben was shown to be manipulative, cruel and seemingly devoid of any real love for anyone else.
There was one person he truly cared about, however: Alex Rousseau. Kidnapped from Danielle (the "French woman" who recorded the warning heard in the pilot episode), Ben raised her as his own. His first centric episode, Season 3's "The Man Behind the Curtain" showed there was another person who meant something to him.

In many ways, Lostwas designed to be a frustrating show, from the mysteries to the intentionally "bad" choices the characters made. While many fans loved every curveball the writers threw at them, some lost their patience with the series. In fact, some Lost viewers decided to quit the show after certain scenes were just too much for them to take. This list breaks down ten of the biggest.
There are a lot of ways co-showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse annoyed fans of Lost as the series aired. The vast majority of complaints came when beloved characters met frustrating endings, even if they were narratively profound. Other scenes either raised the level of disbelief suspension to a height fans weren't willing to go. These scenes, and the fallout from them, may have driven some Lost fans away, especially when the show was airing week-to-week.

Your outie is kind and doesn't divulge any of the major spoilers from the following article for the latest episode of "Severance."
"Severance" has always flirted heavily with the notion of becoming the heir apparent to the throne left behind by "Lost" -- a similar mystery-box experience about a group of characters thrown into strange circumstances and that seems to uncover more questions than answers with every passing season. Season 2 has somehow raised the bar of quality even higher than it already was the first time around, diving deeper into the complex world-building details of this workplace satire and making us fully invested in our quartet of heroes as we learn more about their inner lives. But episode 7, titled "Chikhai Bardo," might ultimately go down as the moment when the creative team took the torch from "Lost" showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse and made it official.

Almost 15 years since it ended, debates still rage about Lost’s final season, and in particular, its finale. For a sizable portion of the fanbase, “The End” felt nothing less than a waste of time that refused to answer the mysteries they’d spent six years investing in, and seemingly proved the writers made up as they went along. Others felt “The End” was a beautiful cap on an all-time great series, prioritizing the character arcs over the mysteries and bringing things to an emotionally satisfying close. Wherever you land, there’s one thing seemingly everyone can agree upon: it’s not Lost’s worst overall episode.
That dishonor goes to “Stranger in a Strange Land,” the ninth episode of Lost’s third season. Even by the standards of a season that saw dwindling ratings and slow plot progression (at least up until the incredible finale), this installment only incrementally...

It might come as a surprise that Netflix has never had its own English-language medical drama. Not that those shows are easier to make than any other genre, but there sure have been enough of them on television over the last several decades that Netflix might have made making one a priority. They didn't, but they are now.
Given a network-level budget, Pulse, starring Willa Fitzgerald and Colin Woodell, will debut on Thursday, April 3. There will be a first-time creator, Zoe Robyn, in charge with the help of veteran showrunner, Carlton Cuse. Cuse might be best known for his work on the iconic series Lost.
The plot line involves a hospital in Miami that is beginning to deal with the effects of a hurricane hitting the area. The issue is that there is drama among the doctors. Chief Resident Dr. Xander Phillips, played by Woodell, has been suspended, and third-year resident Dr.

It can get confusing. That’s what we wanted to explore with Pulse.”

Netflix has shared photos from its first English-language medical procedural Pulse, which will premiere globally on the streaming service on April 3, 2025.

The rest of the ER is left to process the fallout of their relationship while balancing their own challenges, both personal and professional, as they work under the pressure of life-or-death stakes. Because for this tight-knit group of doctors, saving their patients’ lives is often less complicated than living their own.

One of the projects we’ve been crowing about coming up on Netflix in 2025 is the streamer’s first-ever medical procedural series, Pulse. The series has had the lid lifted on it with an April 2025 release date set. Here are all those first looks and a recap of everything we know so far.
First announced publicly in March 2024 (although in development for at least a year before that), the series marks a first for Netflix, at least when it comes to its English-language programming. Although it’s licensed plenty of medical dramas over the years, it’s never made one itself—at least not a procedural.

One of the biggest twists in Lostwas when the mysterious Henry Gale turned out to be Ben Linus, leader of the island's Others. However, perhaps only with the aid of hindsight, the show foreshadowed this big reveal from the moment the character appeared on-screen. What makes this even more impressive is the knowledge that Michael Emerson wasn't necessarily supposed to be as important a character at first.
While much of Lost was planned since the pilot, the writers were not afraid to change course or wait to define specific mysteries. The importance of "Henry Gale" was one such audible. The producers liked Emerson's performance so much they decided to keep him in the series. Still, from the moment the character appeared on-screen, there were signs he was much more important to the story than he seemed.Ben Linus was one of Lost's most incredible characters, and the seeds for his nefarious journey,...

Despite its legendarily divisive ending, ABC's Losthas still gone down as one of the greatest TV series of all time, setting the standard for "mystery box" shows ever since. Across its six seasons, it boasts some of the most acclaimed and memorable moments in TV history, from its groundbreaking pilot to its infamous flash-forward twist at the end of Season 3. Fans of the series no doubt have different picks for the best season, whether it's Season 1's setup of the island's many mysteries, or Season 3, which opened up the world of the show in all kinds of fantastic ways.
While the show's storyline got weirder and harder to follow in later seasons, Season 4 just might be the series at its very best, an ideal fusion of its island intrigue, high-concept sci-fi, and character development. It features some of the series' biggest payoffs, both from a plot standpoint as well as an emotional one,...

It's been 20 years since Lostfirst debuted on ABC and became a hit, surprising everyone, including ABC and the series' producers. Its legacy has gotten much better with age, but as it aired, fans felt frustrated with the show and disappointed by the ending.
As someone who came to the show later in its run, I can say with confidence that Lost's first season is easily the best of the series, and I think I can prove it. While "best" can mean different things to different people, for me, Season 1 is the most well-executed and accessible season for general audiences. While ratings are relevant, the real metric is the feeling of satisfaction that makes someone a "fan.

For many, LOSTwas an incredible experience that took viewers on a mystery adventure unlike any other on TV. While the ending was met with divided opinions, the series has stood the test of time and is still considered one of the most influential shows in history. This comes despite the sometimes-frustrating "mystery box" approach to its storytelling. JJ Abrams and Damon Lindelof -- two of the men responsible for Lost -- are known to implement mystery box storytelling in their projects, and many have attempted to match their success in that realm.
Instead of taking the Clue or Knives Out route by presenting one primary mystery to drive the plot, a "mystery box" often presents several big mysteries to help build the story's lore -- with solutions being delivered at different points instead of during one big reveal. Some of those answers may not be straightforward and require multiple watches to completely understand,...

Jessie T. Usher recently discussed Netflix's upcoming series Pulse, likening its feel to the early seasons of ABC's acclaimed, long-running medical drama series, Grey's Anatomy. Usher, most well-known for playing the superhero A-Train in the fan-favorite Prime Video series The Boys, will play the Emergency Medicine Resident Sam Elijah in Pulse.
Usher made the Grey's Anatomy comparison in an interview with Screen Rant. The actor refused to give away key story points but called the upcoming Netflix show sexy, romantic, and dramatic. He also expressed that Pulse was a nice change of pace from his experience filming The Boys. "Yeah, Pulse is a medical drama, so Netflix, it'll be airing sometime this spring," he began. "I play Dr. Elijah. I can't give away story points on it, but it has the feel of early Grey's Anatomy. It's sexy, and it's romantic, and it's dramatic in a lot of ways.

The world is a worse place now that we've lost the iconic filmmaker David Lynch. Dead at 78, Lynch quickly was able to establish himself as perhaps the premier and the most famous avant-garde filmmaker of his generation, thanks to such quintessentially off-kilter films as "Eraserhead," "Blue Velvet," and "The Elephant Man." But just as "Blue Velvet" upended an '80s-era vision of American suburbia as an idyll in which the nuclear family could grow and prosper, Lynch was able to fully change the landscape of the small screen during his time as an artist. His chief (but not only) entry into the world of television was "Twin Peaks," a genre-bending drama he co-created with Mark Frost that brought together a massive ensemble cast, used a small-town murder as a jumping-off point into a depiction of man's capacity for good and evil, and ended up inspiring countless shows in the following decades.

Lost is still one of the most beloved (and divisive) TV shows ever released. The hit drama/mystery first aired on ABC in 2004, as the passengers of Oceanic Flight 815 crash-landed on the mysterious island, forced to fight every day to survive in the harsh and mysterious wilderness. Lost recently gained a second life in 2024, after all six seasons were added to Netflix. The move to streaming renewed interest in the acclaimed series which defined "water cooler talk" during the '00s. With the newfound fan base, many are calling for a potential revival/reboot, something which series writer, Drew Goddard, isn't ruling out.
During an interview with Variety, Drew Goddard addressed the potential for a Lost revival. Officially speaking, "nothing is in the works." However, Goddard said he'd always be open to returning to the unnamed island. "Never say never," the writer said. Goddard shared his love for his former cast and crew,...

Lost lasted for six seasons and there are still a lot of questions about why the series ended. The show centered around the survivors of a plane crash somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean, and heavily featured flashbacks and glimpses into the future that added depth to the huge ensemble. Lost's intrigue and iconic cliffhangers made it an obsession among many fans even if casual viewers didn't stick around for the entire run. In the’ two-and-a-half-hour finale, it was revealed that Oceanic Airline flight 815 hadn't crashed; the characters had been in a purgatory-like "flash-sideways" version of the afterlife.
The final scene of the show depicted the Lost characters reuniting in a church before moving into the afterlife together. The Lost series finale was interpreted in many ways, leading to varied opinions on how effective the ending was. With the mystery of Lost and the beloved characters still a huge...

When Lost debuted 20 years ago, the series featured the largest cast of regulars for any television show, let alone a network like ABC. It's ironic that perhaps the best episode of the series focuses on Henry Ian Cusick's Desmond Hume, who wasn't even on the plane. In Lost Season 4, Desmond was the focus of a time-travel story called "The Constant," which was secretly inspired by the series finale of Star Trek: The Next Generation. The genesis of the idea of becoming "unstuck in time" goes back to Kurt Vonnegut's novel Slaughterhouse-Five, so The Next Generation didn't pioneer the concept. Also, Lost shares a...

Even though professional wrestling involves a degree of acting, the professional wrestler-to-actor pipeline hasn't been particularly smooth for most. Hulk Hogan generally found himself unable to tone down the volume and the bluster of yelling to an entire arena, and while Roddy Piper had some success with John Carpenter's "They Live," he owes it to the director being a wrestling fan.
In the '90s, wrestling began to change into its "Attitude" era, often called the Monday Night Wars, developing more adult and reality-based themes, and depending at least as much on behind-the-scenes vignettes as in-ring action. This transition required a newer, more versatile sort of performer, and none excelled at it more than Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock. It was in The Rock's charisma as both hero and villain that promoter Vince McMahon saw the potential for the World Wrestling Entertainment to gain a foothold in Hollywood, and WWE Studios,...
