Apple TV+’s Sugar is adding some serious firepower for its second season. Jin Ha, Laura Donnelly, and Tony Dalton have joined the Colin Farrell-led noir drama as series regulars, expanding the show's already pretty stacked ensemble. Ha, best known for his role in Apple’s Pachinko, will play a boxer with a habit of getting caught up with the wrong people, while Donnelly (best known for The Nevers) is set to play a character who is remarkably immune to Sugar's usual charm and charisma. Must be pretty strong willed, if you ask us. Lastly, Dalton will take on the role of a Lieutenant in the LA County Sheriff’s Department.

Exclusive: Sugar, starring and executive produced by Colin Farrell, has added three new series regulars for next season: Jin Ha, Laura Donnelly, Tony Dalton
Ha is one of the stars of Apple TV+’s historical drama Pachinko, which is still on the bubble, awaiting word on a Season 3 renewal. His casting in Sugar would not impact Pachinko; he would be able to do both.
I hear Ha will be playing a boxer who frequently gets caught up with the wrong crowds. Donnelly is believed to be playing a woman who is immune to Sugar’s (Farrell) charms; Dalton would play a Lieutenant in the LA County Sheriff’s Department.
Created by Mark Protosevich, Sugar is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story.

When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
Review: Just under ten years ago, Marvel brought its first street-level hero to Netflix with Daredevil. While the series would be followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and a crossover event in Defenders, the Charlie Cox-led Daredevil was the best series of the bunch. After three seasons, Daredevil ended its Netflix run, and the cast said goodbye to the denizens of Hell’s Kitchen. But, when Marvel Studios reacquired the full rights to the characters, we saw Cox show up in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law while Vincent D’Onofrio returned as Wilson Fisk in the Disney+ series Hawkeye and Echo.

Daredevil: Born Againhas yet to premiere on Disney+, but Marvel Studios is already moving quickly for Season 2. Set to film shortly after Born Again airs on the streamer, the second season will see Charlie Cox once again become the Man Without Fear, but he'll be joined by several new faces. One of which is a Scream icon, and recently made waves as the main antagonist in Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy’s hit video game adaptation.
Deadline reports that Matthew Lillard is set to join the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. In typical MCU fashion, it's unclear at the moment who the Scream star will be playing on the Disney+ streaming series. Conventional wisdom says he will likely play a villain role in the Marvel show, but Lillard is no stranger to playing the good guy, too. For years, fans were left in the dark on whether Marvel Studios would revive “Daredevil” on Disney+ after the end of its Netflix run. The cast grappled with the same crisis of faith.
“No, I was a cynic,” Deborah Ann Woll, who plays lawyer Karen Page, told Variety on Monday night when asked if she believed Disney would revive the pulp superhero epic. “I was sure it was never coming back.”
But “the devil’s work is never done,” as the poster tagline reads, and the show was born again. The sheer scale of the Marvel revival series was on full display at its New York premiere, fittingly hosted at Disney’s expansive new headquarters in SoHo. The event marks the second time the Mouse House rolled out the red carpet at the Robert A. Iger Building, following the “Beatles ’64” premiere last November.

While Daredevil has been rumored to appear in Spider-Man 4, it doesn't seem like the blind vigilante (or his arch nemesis Kingpin) will actually appear in the Sony/Marvel sequel. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio recently addressed whether they've been in touch with Marvel Studios about starring in Spider-Man 4, and they wasted no time getting right to the point.
While speaking with Meltdown Press to promote Daredevil: Born Again, D'Onofrio and Cox were asked if they would get in trouble for talking about a potential Marvel Cinematic Universe return in Spider-Man 4. "You can ask that because we're not in Spider-Man 4, or at least nobody has told me that we are," D'Onofrio bluntly stated. Cox opted to avoid addressing the question, choosing instead to tease how the first season's "big event" will impact Matt Murdock, revealing that he will "never be the same again. Ever. And it's a tragedy on so many levels.

Marvel fans' homework for Daredevil: Born Again has just been revealed, and it's entirely optional. Daredevil actor Charlie Cox has explained why viewers won't need to binge the Netflix series before diving into the Disney+ continuation.

The nine episode first season of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025 – and Variety has revealed that two episodes of the show will feature Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, a.k.a. The Swordsman, a character he previously played in the Marvel / Disney+ series Hawkeye. Dalton won’t be the only character from another Marvel / Disney+ who will drop by Daredevil: Born Again along the way, as we’ve previously heard that Mohan Kapur will be making an appearance as Kamala Khan’s father Yusuf Khan, a character he played in Ms. Marvel and The Marvels.

In an interesting bit of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) news, Variety has exclusively reported that Hawkeye and Better Call Saul actor Tony Dalton will be making an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again as his character Jack Dusquene, better known as The Swordsman in Marvel Comics. Duquesne hasn’t been seen in the MCU since the end of the first season of Hawkeye on Disney+ in December 2021 during Phase Four of the MCU. Marvel Studios is no stranger to bringing back characters after long hiatuses, and Duquesne returning in Born Again makes sense, especially given the setting of the series.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to welcome viewers back to the street-level action of the MCU, bringing back grounded heroes like Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal). Last August, scooper @MyTimeToShineH claimed that Daredevil: Born Again will feature an appearance from Hawkeye star Tony Dalton as the returning Jack Duquesne. Now, that's been confirmed by Variety.
We don't know whether he'll have finally become Swordmaster by the time we next see him, though Jack did have links to organised crime and, thanks to Eleanor Bishop, The Kingpin.
Perhaps he'll be one of the people Matt Murdock represents in court? He's bound to have been caught up in the mess created by Eleanor and, seeing as she can name Fisk as the mastermind behind her criminal enterprises, Matt Murdock is sure to have taken an interest (further tying this story to the wider MCU in the process).
We'd bet on Duquesne's role being relatively grounded and in keeping with Daredevil: Born Again's tone. Still, there's at least a slim chance he'll suit up seeing as the series...

Breaking Bad is considered one of the greatest television series of all time, and miraculously, creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould were able to have lightning strike twice with their spinoff hit show, Better Call Saul. When Daredevil: Born Again finally arrives on Disney+ next March, we're expecting a long overdue deep dive into the street-level corner of the MCU.
We know the Man Without Fear will cross paths with the likes of White Tiger and The Punisher, while various online scoopers have claimed the plan for Spider-Man 4 is for Peter Parker and Daredevil to do battle with The Kingpin.
If that happens, then we'd imagine the idea is to bring Wilson Fisk's story to a definitive close when he's defeated by his two greatest foes.
Lead star Charlie Cox recently teased plans for cameos in Daredevil: Born Again and Daniel Richtman has now "confirmed" rumours that Jacques "Jack" Duquesne (Tony Dalton) will appear in the series. Is he finally going to suit up as Swordsman? That remains to be seen.
The scooper also claims that there were once plans for Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan/Ms.

Daredevil: Born Again will finally deliver a deep dive into the street-level corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Hawkeye gave us a glimpse into that, of course, but it's in this series that we'll see vigilantes in action.
The Punisher and White Tiger are both confirmed to appear and lead star Charlie Cox commented on the latter character's role during a recent appearance at Fan Expo Chicago.
"I mean, we don't follow any of the comic books in terms of story," he told fans (via Screen Rant). "We don't follow any of them closely, and there's a number of reasons for that. One, because if you follow a storyline closely, it becomes a foregone conclusion because everyone knows how it ends."
"Those of you who saw the leaked trailer from D23 may have noticed a couple of interesting characters come up - I didn't say it, you said it.
