At the Sigtuna Humanistic Grammar School he was a schoolmate of Olof Palme, later prime minister of Sweden. At the school's theatre production of "King Oedipus" he acted Oedipus, while Olof Palme was the blind seer Tiresias.

The last years before his retirement he was employed at the intelligence service of the military defence staff in Stockholm.
