After airing just four episodes, NBC announced on Tuesday that its freshman drama series “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” will be moving from Sunday nights to Fridays at 8:00 p.m. Et/Pt, beginning Friday, April 4.

The series follows four members of a suburban garden club who find their lives intertwined by scandal, mischief and a shared secret – a murder no one wants to talk about. As dark truths begin to rot their lives under the surface, they struggle to remain as perfect as the flowers blooming in their garden above.

Episodes five and six are set to continue airing on Sunday nights for the remainder of the month (March 23 and March 30 at 10:00 p.m. Et/Pt) with the seventh episode serving as the first in the show’s new timeslot.

The network will move its first-year drama Grosse Pointe Garden Society from Sunday to Friday nights starting April 4. The show will take the 8 p.m. spot currently occupied by Happy’s Place; the Reba McEntire-led comedy finishes its season March 21. Episodes of Dateline will take over the 10 p.m. Sunday slot after Grosse Pointe Garden Society moves.

The change in nights is meant to help Grosse Pointe Garden Society get some more eyes to its on-air showings. The series, which follows members of a suburban garden club whose lives become entangled with scandal and secrets — and a murder — has found some traction streaming on Peacock, but its on-air viewing has struggled some.

Through its first three episodes, Grosse Pointe Garden Society has averaged a scant 1.29 million same-day viewers, making it NBC’s lowest on-air performance this season.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society is getting re-planted elsewhere on NBC’s schedule.

The move does not bode well for the future of “Grosse Pointe,” as a move to Fridays midway through a freshman season typically indicates a show is destined for cancellation. NBC has been successfully programming comedies on Friday nights of late, however, with the Reba McEntire multi-cam “Happy’s Place” recently earning a Season 2 renewal. The season finale of that show is set to air on March 21.

Still, despite relatively solid reviews, “Grosse Pointe” has failed to make a major impact in the broadcast ratings. Per NBC, the pilot has grown to a 1.21 rating in the adults 18-49 demo and 6.6 million total viewers across all platforms since it originally debuted on Feb.

“Grosse Point Garden Society” plunges viewers into a dark moment as a group of friends — linked by a suburban garden club in Michigan — cover up a murder, though just six months before, one of those four individual was barely an acquaintance.

The new NBC drama series straddles two timelines — one where Birdie (Melissa Fumero), who is known for a reputation of partying and trouble, is welcomed into the garden club by Alice (AnnaSophia Robb), Catherine (Aja Naomi King) and Brett (Ben Rappaport); and one that occurs the night of a mysterious fatality that the group bands together to cover up.

Despite a murder happening during the second timeline, Fumero said the audience meets Birdie at “one of the lowest points in her life” as she’s sentenced to community service after a reckless driving incident, which forces her to confront her next steps.

Until I saw NBC’s Grosse Pointe Garden Society, I’d never thought about how far it might be possible to take a gardening metaphor. Each of the four episodes sent to critics is threaded with voiceover narration, always from a different perspective but invariably laden with floral language comparing individual personalities to specific species or unwanted houseguests to pests.

To the extent that this series has a distinctive edge, it might be its commitment to this specific bit. A tiny part of me hopes it runs for a hundred episodes just to hear how tenuous or obscure the plant-based symbolism can get.

A much larger part of me, however, cannot bring myself to care whether it sticks around or not. Alice (AnnaSophia Robb) might liken herself to a wild geranium or her bestie Brett (Ben Rappaport) to a hardy dandelion. But the show they’re on is the TV...

Let’s be honest – playing one character brilliantly is hard enough, but Nina Dobrev took it to a whole new level in The Vampire Diaries. NBC on Friday released the first trailer for the forthcoming drama, which premieres Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10/9c. (People was the first to report the news.) In the series, a group of suburbanites reveal the first rule of their local gardening club: Everyone must have each others’ backs. Shouldn’t be too hard, in theory, except that Grosse Pointe Garden Society looks like it’s dealing with homicide, arson and more seedy misbehavior. (Oh my!)

Grosse Pointe Garden Society follows four members of a suburban garden club — Alice, Birdie, Brett, and Catherine — whose lives take a dark turn when they become entangled in a shared secret: a murder no one wants to talk about.

It has been just over 15 years since The Vampire Diaries first premiered!

The supernatural drama debuted September 10, 2009 on The CW, running for eight seasons, 171 episodes, through March 10, 2017.

Starring Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, Matthew Davis and more, the series centered on 17-year-old Elena (Dobrev), who was torn between two vampire brothers, good Stefan and the evil Damon, who face new dangers in the town of Mystic Falls.

From it’s success, the popular show spawned two spinoffs – The Originals and Legacies, and there’s even an idea for a fourth series in the Tvd universe.

Legacies has an admirable lineage, stemming all the way back to 2009. The year ushered in the arrival of The Vampire Diaries, a horror romance series on The CW that would create a long-running franchise. Created by Scream writer Kevin Williamson and long-time collaborator Julie Plec, the series took the L.J. Smith books and made them into something iconic.

The first few seasons of The Vampire Diaries fire on all cylinders as teenager Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) finds a reason to live again after her parents' tragic and premature deaths. Her romance with vampire Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) brings her into a world of horror but makes her feel alive again. The horror show adds impressively to vampire lore and created two subsequent spin-offs. NBC’s 2025 midseason lineup includes the series premieres of Suits LA starring Heels‘ Stephen Amell, The Hunting Party with Manifest‘s Melissa Roxburgh, and Grosse Pointe Garden Society starring AnnaSophia Robb. The midseason schedule also includes a new season of The Voice with Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, Michael Bublé, and returning original coach Adam Levine.

Per Variety, Dries will serve as the series' co-showrunner, alongside series creator Laura Kittrell.
