  • He attended UCLA, where he staged a theater department talent show featuring Carol Burnett, a freshman who had partnered with him in an acting-class scene.
  • In 1956, after Army service, he joined the staff of Globe Photos, eventually becoming West Coast bureau chief. He oversaw photography of celebrities at movie premieres, awards ceremonies, parties and nightclubs.
  • He was recruited at age 4 from the ranks of the Meglin Kiddies. He was cast in six of Hal Roach's "Our Gang" comedies in the 1930s, including the series' only feature film, General Spanky (1936).
  • In 2013, he co-authored with Mother Dolores Hart her autobiography, "The Ear of the Heart: Actress' Journey from Holywood to Holy Vows," which detailed Dolores Hart's Hollywood film career and her 1963 decision to join a convent in Connecticut. He had earlier worked with actress Patricia Neal on her autobiography at the request of Mother Dolores Hart, who had counseled Neal after her divorce.
