Did Roja Ramani Make Her Debut In A Telugu Superhero Movie? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Telugu cinema has always had action, romance, spy, thrillers, and more. However, a genre that has gone unrecognized and unnoticed is the superhero genre. As with many movies that go the underrated or unseen route, this 1967 movie went unseen. Though superhero movies are part of contemporary Indian cinema today, the Telugu film industry came close to that early in Bhakta Prahlada (1967).
The film, while not strictly a superhero movie per se, has a hero whose adventures and struggles replicate the very foundation of what contributes to contemporary superheroes being so legendary.
Bhakta Prahlada — A Mythological Superhero
Bhakta Prahlada is a 1967 Indian Hindu mythological Telugu-language film directed by Chitrapu Narayana Rao, with the screenplay written by D. V. Narasa Raju. S.V. Ranga Rao, Anjali Devi, and Roja Ramani starred in this movie, with the latter making her debut with this film.

New Delhi, June 21 (Ians) The five-day Inter-State Athletic Championships 2023, which ended at Bhubaneswar on Monday, lived up to its expectations as on the final two days of the competition, shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor and long jumper Murali Sreeshankar set the standard high with world-class performances.
Toor hogged all the limelight on the final day of the competition when he threw the shot put as far as 21.77 metres to improve his two-season-old Asian record of 21.49m. Needless to say a new national record, the effort was also good enough to breach the qualifying standard of the World Athletics Championships.
Sreeshankar’s 8.41m leap was no mean feat too as he came within 1cm of the national record with the holder Jeswin Aldrin himself competing in the tournament as the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) made it mandatory for all elite athletes to compete in Bhubaneswar to qualify for the Asian Games.

'Kabhi Kabhie' (1976)
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee Gulzar, Shashi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Waheeda Rehman
Say what you will about filmmaker Yash Chopra—Bollywood's evergreen romantic—but over the course of his long career as a director and producer, he hasn't flinched from exploring difficult matters of the heart—and few relationship issues are more challenging than emotional infidelity, the subject of his 'Kabhi Kabhie.'
There are nine characters, spanning two generations and including four couples and three interconnected love triangles—you need a playbill to keep it straight—all of which reflects a complicated topic that has insidiously far-reaching effects. But Chopra lingers long on the principals and stretches out their pile-up of pain and selfishness so the story doesn't feel muddled, and the measured pace never feels slow.
