The action drama series Tracker was an instant hit for CBS, sharing the top ratings spots with Kathy Bates' Matlock. The procedural features Justin Hartley in the lead, widely known for his standout role as Kevin on This Is Us. As a lone wolf survivalist named Colter Shaw, he makes his way in the world by tracking down missing people for both law enforcement and private citizens. However, part of Tracker's charm in the first season was Robin Weigert as Teddi, who, along with her wife Velma, keeps the business side of Cole's job running smoothly while he's out in the field.
However, before the start of Season 2, it was revealed that Weigert would not be continuing her role on the show. Though not uncommon for actors to abruptly leave projects, it was a bit of a shock due to her significant presence in the first season and the...

Tim Burton is an iconic director known for cleverly combining horror and fantasy. His movies have an eerie aesthetic and tell whimsical stories, and the recent success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is testament to just how they enthrall viewers. It’s not the spooky season, but fans looking for a Burton follow-up should take the opportunity to revisit one of his polarizing works from 2016, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Starring Ella Purnell, whose talents have only recently been recognized with shows like Yellowjackets and Fallout, the movie is a streaming hit, ranking in Max’s top 10.

The best Joey King movies and TV shows prove that the young actress has a lot more going for her than just the string of releases she enjoyed after her breakout in The Kissing Booth. King got her start as a child actor, with her first roles coming with she was only seven. As a youngster, she appeared in some major blockbusters, including Battle: Los Angeles, Crazy, Stupid, Love, The Dark Knight Rises, and The Conjuring. That experience prepared her for what has become a leading lady role as she reaches her 20s.
That all started in The Kissing Booth, which saw King star in all three movies in the franchise from 2018 to 2021. The success of those films on Netflix opened the door for King to earn more roles both in movies and on streaming services. She took on the lead role of Gypsy-Rose Blanchard in The Act, a fun...

20 years ago this year, Deadwood premiered on HBO on March 21st, 2004. Helmed by former NYPD Blue co-creator David Milch, the series debuted to nearly universal acclaim, and is still in the conversation of the greatest TV series of all time. Set in the 1870s in the gold mining town of Deadwood in what would later become South Dakota, it depicted life on the frontier as hard and fraught with peril, where scheming opportunists could come and make their fortunes, as long as their morals were flexible enough to do what was necessary.
But beyond its colorful profanity and merciless violence, a more tender heart beats at the core of Deadwood. Amidst the jockeying and murdering for power and wealth, some of the series' most memorable moments came from watching its sprawling cast of characters taking care of each other, finding moments of connection as they worked to build a community from the ground up.

The Walking Dead is a vast franchise that still dominates horror TV entertainment, but there is still a great deal of controversy concerning the long-running series. Some of this controversy is based on lackluster spin-offs, such as Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. However, whether it's concerning a popular series or not, there are certain aspects of the franchise that failed to impress.
Many of the best storylines in the series came early on in each show, developing the characters and showing how they survive within the post-apocalyptic world. On the other hand, many storylines completely failed to impress the viewers, offering overused tropes, out-of-character decisions, and unoriginal conflicts. Many viewers agree that the storylines in The Walking Dead deserve the hate they get.

Last year, Fear the Walking Dead ended its run, likely bringing an end to the story of Colman Domingo's Victor Strand. However, the actor hasn't shut the door on the possibility of returning to the franchise.
In an interview with Screen Rant to promote this new Netflix series, The Madness, Domingo reflected on the series finale of Fear the Walking Dead. He shared that he just happened to reunite with two of his series co-stars, so he was able to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the finale's airing last November, albeit unintentionally. Domingo also explained how he feels like Victor's story has been thoroughly explored in the world of The Walking Dead, but with that said, the acclaimed actor would still be up for revisiting the role — as long as Victor is the main character, that is.

The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 will star Kim Coates as its new main antagonist, which will continue a Walking Dead villain trend. As Dead City already features one of The Walking Dead's most powerful villains, the next season is set to include an exciting battle of wills. The premise for Dead City has been one of the most interesting of the Walking Dead spin-offs, as it forces two enemies to work together with a common goal. Negan and Maggie's bitter history has kept the tension throughout Dead City, which left Maggie with a choice to make.
Dead City season 1 ended with Negan being captured by the Dama, who wants the old villainous Negan to bring her people together and prepare for war. This left Maggie torn between killing Negan and rescuing him, after spending a decade wishing for revenge. Negan is always more dangerous when he is offered power,...

Fear the Walking Dead star Colman Domingo looks back on his time as Victor Strand and the series finale, reflecting on whether he'd return to the role. Fear the Walking Dead was the first spinoff in a television franchise that has seen many, running from August 2015 until November 2023. Although he was not part of the original cast, Domingo quickly made an impression and quickly became a series regular after being introduced near the end of season 1, and a crucial part of the zombie drama through to its conclusion.
In an interview with Screen Rant's Grant Hermanns to promote his Netflix limited series The Madness, which premieres November 28, Domingo shared that he still talks to his co-stars Kim Dickens and Alycia Debnam-Carey about the Fear the Walking Dead ending. Alfred Hitchcock developed his own unique style, and many other filmmakers have taken inspiration from his crime thrillers over the years. The term "Hitchcockian" describes any movie which bears the hallmarks of Hitchcock's work. No such term exists for most other directors, which just goes to show how original and immediately identifiable Hitchcock's classics are. The Master of Suspense is still inspiring filmmakers long after his death.
Hitchcock's biggest hits share certain visual motifs, including blonde women, famous landmarks and the use of staircases as visual metaphors. His stories often shared some key ideas too, such as wrongly accused men, voyeurism and twisted family dynamics. These common themes helped Hitchcock's movies stand out, and they became their own subgenre in a way. Other directors pay homage to Hitchcock by using his visual quirks to delve into his favorite subjects.

Rotten Tomatoes has been an authority on critical reviews since 1998. The review site offers both critical and audience ratings of movies and TV shows. Anything that has an average of 60% and over of positive reviews is certified fresh, while anything under 60% gets a splat.
Some actors like Nicolas Cage and Adam Sandler have had a horrible Rotten Tomatoes streak for years on end, only to break that streak with one good movie. Whether these performers star in these splats for the promise of a paycheck or because they genuinely thought they were good, their series of bad movies could have tanked their careers. Luckily, they were able to bounce back with a certified fresh movie that set them on a better path.

This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead season 8 and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
With the sprawling world of AMC’s The Walking Dead ballooning to a franchise that includes sequels, prequels, and anthology series, it’s easy to forget the humble roots of the Frank Darabont days and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in the Harrison Memorial Hospital. While it’s sometimes hard to keep track of the various branches of the Deadverse, few have continued the story as faithfully as Fear the Walking Dead.

Fear the Walking Dead is a standalone spin-off that serves as a better starting point for new viewers of The Walking Dead franchise. With a rotating cast of characters, Fear the Walking Dead offers a true ensemble effort that is well worth watching for fans. The show's resurgence in popularity on Netflix has brought attention to its debut in a Walker-infested Los Angeles setting.
A spin-off of AMC's ultra-popular The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead boasts a completely new cast of characters and a few notable crossovers and cameos. Created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, the post-apocalyptic horror series was the franchise's first-ever spin-off. Instead of being set near to its parent show's Atlanta setting, the series began in a Walker-infested Los Angeles, California. The first few seasons follow a dysfunctional, blended family, led by Kim Dickens' Madison Clark, but, as time goes on, more characters join the show's ever-expanding roster.

Fans of Fear the Walking Dead were surprised when, in Season 4 of the series, series regular Frank Dillane departed the show.
Dillane starred as Nick Clark, one of the main characters and a member of the Clark family alongside Alycia Debnam-Carey and Kim Dickens.
Fear the Walking Dead was the first spin-off series commissioned in the hit Walking Dead universe. It focused on exploring the early days of the zombie outbreak in Los Angeles, primarily from the point of view of the Clark family.

Netflix has a lot of offerings this month but a huge one is that the streamer will be taking on a score of programs from AMC all releasing on Aug. 19. So which are the best to check out?
For years, AMC has been known for its terrific original series, from Mad Men to Breaking Bad, many of which are Emmy-winning hits. The network runs a nice gamut from drama to more action-oriented and thanks to a new deal with Netflix, nearly a dozen of their shows are hitting the streamer. Some may be good watches if a bit uneven (Mayfair Witches) and others not quite as well known.
However, there are some great shows to check out, and these half-dozen series are all worth checking out to show how this AMC roster on Netflix enhances the streamer.

TV shows are increasingly bringing back dead characters for various reasons, sometimes mystifying fans. Show creators attempt to revive characters due to popularity, but this trend could put pressure on delivering convincing storylines. Returning deceased characters might please fans initially, but it risks tarnishing a show's reputation and impact.
It used to be that characters coming back from the dead were reserved for supernatural shows or the horror genre. But ever since Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) appeared in that infamous shower scene in Dallas, revealing that everything in the entire season prior was just a dream, the concept of bringing a character back to life through some magical circumstance on a show where magic couldnt be further from the premise seems to be par for the course.

Lily Collins' career has evolved from small, supporting roles to lead parts in high-profile films and TV shows. Despite facing critical reception, Collins' performances in films like Tolkien and Mank have been well-regarded. Emily in Paris marks Collins' most significant TV role, showcasing her range as an actress in a major series.
Lily Collins has been in a smattering of movies and TV shows since she made her debut in the industry at the age of 10. Her gateway into Hollywood was in a supporting voice-acting role in the 1999 animated film Tarzan. She got her part in that film through her famous father, British musician Phil Collins, who famously composed the music for Tarzan.
Since working alongside her dad, Collins has come to step out into more central roles in recent years. After Tarzan, her next roles came a decade later, including parts in 90210 and The Blind Side. From there,...

Consequently, Bullock is one of Hollywood's highest-paid and renowned actresses.
For The Blind Side, Bullock was nominated for her performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy at the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010 and won.

Michael Oher filed a lawsuit claiming that the depiction of his adoption in the movie "The Blind Side" was a lie and that the Tuohy family tricked him and profited off his name. The success of "The Blind Side" was partially due to its marketing as a true story, showcasing hope and determination, which appealed to audiences. A judge ruled to end the conservatorship held by the Tuohy family in September 2023.
Almost 14 years after the release of The Blind Side, Michael Oher came out with his side of the story, claiming that the movie, which was marketed as "based on a true story," was rooted in lies. The 2009 biographical sports drama was inspired by Michael Lewis' 2006 novel of the same name, which primarily focuses on the evolution of American football strategy but also touches on Oher's tale. Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond left open storylines for characters to potentially return in future spinoffs. Characters like Alicia, Silas, and Hope have the potential to reappear in the expanding Walking Dead universe thanks to their connections and unresolved arcs. The established characters, like Victor Strand, Luciana, and June, could have a purpose in new shows with the opportunity for redemption and growth.

Nick Clark's death in Fear the Walking Dead was not a creative decision, but rather a request made by actor Frank Dillane. Dillane asked to leave the show after being on it for three or four years and feeling that it was time to move on. Nick's death had a significant impact on the characters in the final season, especially Morgan and Madison, who are still struggling with the emotional trauma.

Network executives are not obligated to pick up a show even after millions of dollars have been spent on production costs. Changes in leadership or real-world events can lead to the cancelation of a TV show, despite initial hopes and resources invested. Sometimes shows are canceled after a pilot episode or even an entire season is filmed, resulting in wasted resources and unconfirmed costs in the millions.
Some shows are canceled before they even air, but not before they have racked up millions of dollars in production costs. There are wild stories about the millions major networks like HBO and Netflix spent on a show they had high hopes for that never got off the ground. The Walking Dead has a wide range of female antagonists who bring different shifts and challenges to the protagonists. These villains often operate with a community or small group behind them, but some operate solo, showcasing their individual motivations and beliefs. The actions and choices of these female antagonists, such as betrayal, manipulation, and cold decision-making, solidify their villainous status within the Walking Dead universe.
While The Walking Dead has many memorable characters, some of its female antagonists truly stand out because of their villainy. Madison Clark and June Dorie have been staples of Fear the Walking Dead for as long as anyone can remember. Kim Dickens' Madison was the woman who started it all as the first female protagonist of The Walking Dead universe. Her transformation from a well-balanced guidance counselor to a brutal survivor driven by love for her children is unlike any other in this franchise. Likewise, Jenna Elfman's June has spiraled from several losses since her introduction in Season 4, creating a tragic narrative about grief and acceptance.
Ending these characters' journeys on a high note was no easy task, as Season 8 proved to be the toughest venture these women would experience. But Madison was reunited with her daughter Alicia, and June finally accepted another person into her life. Dickens and...

Spoilers are ahead for Fear The Walking Dead's series finale.
Fear The Walking Dead's series finale is packed with ridiculous moments, making for an uneven conclusion to an inconsistent spinoff series. The plot points that deliver the fitting conclusions for the cast of characters are often absurd and riddled with unbelievable coincidences. The series finale features contrived moments like Madison surviving a gunshot because of her daughter's necklace and her miraculous survival of a huge explosion. Tracy's convenient rescue of Madison from the rubble also adds to the absurdity.

After eight seasons and a year since The Walking Dead came to a close, the parent series' first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, is finally done. The show went on a long and winding journey, starting as a prequel following Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and her family in the earlier days of the zombie apocalypse before jumping forward to run concurrently with the main series, introducing Morgan (Lennie James) into the fold. Now, AMC is moving on to the show's many other series, including the upcoming The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, but the showrunners teased it may not be time to say goodbye to Fear's characters.

Warning: Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead's series finale "The Road Ahead" below!
Fear The Walking Dead's finale breaks the repetitive pattern of set-up for future shows, offering a satisfying and conclusive ending for the show. The reunion between Madison and Alicia brings emotional impact - despite being somewhat predictable - and the finale succeeds in delivering real closure for its main characters. While Madison and Alicia might not return, other characters from Fear Twd could potentially crossover into future shows.
With Fear The Walking Dead's finale, the franchise is breaking out of a bad pattern it has developed in recent years. The Walking Dead franchise has been a very reliable brand for AMC for over a decade now. There was even concern the first major spinoff Fear The Walking Dead would kill interest in the saga, but not only did the latter last eight seasons itself,...
