The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy is the latest animated series to premiere on Prime Video, fusing elements of a sci-fi adult cartoon like Rick and Morty with character-driven medical dramedies like House. Dr. Klak (Keke Palmer) and Dr. Sleech (Stephanie Hsu) are physicians in an alien hospital, balancing all sorts of dangerous and wild situations while navigating office romances, anxiety attacks, and ethical dilemmas. Alongside fellow caregivers like Plowp (Kieran Culkin), Vlam (Maya Rudolph), and Nuse Tup (Natasha Lyonne), Klak and Sleech work to save lives amid their personal desires and ambitions.
It's a clever and colorful comedy, with a deft sense of character amid some truly wild imagery. The diverse main cast -- which also includes Sam Smith as Klak's former partner Dr. Azel -- helps flesh out a truly vivid universe to explore. Dr. Klak is the standout character in "The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy," with a focus on mental health and family dynamics. Nurse Tup, the sarcastic nurse, adds humor to the show and develops unexpectedly in the final storyline. Frandon Flork, the chief surgeon with two heads, steals scenes with funny jokes and quirky personality.
The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy has introduced all kinds of new characters to the world of Amazon Prime Video's unique animated sci-fi comedy series, and here are the 10 best characters from the show, ranked. The aptly-named series takes place in an intergalactic hospital, with the majority of the characters being alien doctors, nurses, and surgeons. As season 1 of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy goes on, each character becomes more three-dimensional and gets a more fleshed-out backstory, and while there are plenty of characters from the show to love, these 10 are the best.

Dr. Sleech's mysterious origin story will take center stage in Season 2 of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. Sleech's history before the events of the show remains veiled in mystery, providing an exciting storyline to explore. Season 1 finale hints at Season 2 unraveling Sleech's backstory, setting up an intriguing and darker future for the character.
The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy season 1 has already ended, but the show's best mystery perfectly sets up the story of season 2. The main arc of The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy season 1 is fairly wrapped up by the finale, meaning that there isn't much to expand on when it comes to Klak's relationship with her mother or the fight against Larvin. However, one story thread is left untied in the finale, with The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy perfectly positioning itself to explore one major character mystery.

There’s nothing cut-rate about The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, an absurd yet emotionally grounded new series from Russian Doll writer Cirocco Dunlap. Titmouse Animation, the studio behind such visually sumptuous series as Scavengers Reign and Pantheon, and production designer Robin Eisenberg have created a galaxy teeming with life in all of its glorious — and grotesque — forms. And Stephanie Hsu and Keke Palmer, two of the most exciting actors working today, lead a cast that’s stacked from top to bottom.

The new Amazon series, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, borrows a major plot point from The Big Bang Theory. Both shows explore characters dealing with parental issues, anxiety, and psychological challenges in unique ways. The Amazon series takes the Leonard-inspired storyline to a darker and more serious place than its sitcom counterpart.
Amazon Prime Video has just released a new animated sitcom, and it actually copies a major Leonard story from The Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Theory and the new Amazon show couldn't seem more different, with them featuring entirely different settings, characters, and premises. However, a major storyline from the Amazon series perfectly parallels with an arc from The Big Bang Theory, showing that the two shows are more similar than they may initially seem.
Amazon Prime Video has finally released The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, an all-new series from showrunner and writer Cirocco Dunlap.

While you weren’t watching, Amazon’s Prime Video quietly blossomed into a haven for adult animation. The streaming service’s latest addition to its lineup, the sci-fi comedy “The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy,” is the brainchild of Cirocco Dunlap, whose résumé includes Netflix’s “Russian Doll” and “Big Mouth.” The show, which is now streaming, follows the adventures of two alien doctors, Klak and Sleech, as they treat a myriad of strange illnesses and maladies afflicting the brilliant and unique beings that populate the titular galaxy.
While the show’s writers are clearly having fun trying to stretch the limits of the imagination, the series also dedicates a significant amount of its runtime to telling relatable stories about universally understood medical conditions, too, like anxiety. The result is a well-rounded, enjoyable comedy that deserves your attention. When you toss in an impressive voice cast that also includes Kieran Culkin,...

According to showrunner Cirocco Dunlap, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy is inspired by series like BoJack Horseman and Grey's Anatomy, creating a uniquely comedic story of fictional healthcare workers.
For the comedic timing to land, the performances needed to be well done, with the voices of these characters being a key component of their reliability.

Apple has struck a multi-year first-look deal with Animal Pictures, the production company run by Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne and Danielle Renfrew Behrens.
The announcement of the deal comes after the premiere of “Loot,” the Apple comedy series in which Rudolph stars and executive produces. Under the terms of the deal, Apple will now have a first-look at all series and digital features developed and produced by Animal Pictures.
In addition to “Loot,” Animal Pictures has the second season of “Russian Doll” at Netflix and Rian Johnson’s mystery “Poker Face” at Peacock, both which Lyonne stars in. The company also has a two-season order of adult animated series “The Hospital” created by Cirocco Dunlap at Amazon. The shingle’s first feature “Crush” also recently premiered. Its feature documentary, “Sirens,” which premiered at Sundance, will be released theatrically by Oscilloscope Laboratories later this year.
“Loot” will debut its fourth episode on Apple on Friday.

Disney+ has given us another look at the upcoming “Big Hero 6” spinoff animated series “Baymax!”
In the latest trailer for the series, which you can watch above, Hiro (Ryan Potter) wakes up to realize that his friendly robot is nowhere to be found. It turns out, Baymax (Scott Adsit) is roaming the city of San Fransokyo trying to help others.
As a medical companion robot, Baymax often seeks out people (and creatures) who have physical ailments, like a woman who sprains her ankle and another who hurts her back. He also tries to save a cat, which doesn’t go as planned when he tells the animal to “remain calm” and instead it pokes several holes in his body.
But, he soon learns that some of their problems go much deeper than the surface. “I guess a hero’s job is never done,” Hiro says.
