Scream 7 started filming at the start of January, and we’ve seen some surprising reports about the slasher sequel as it has made its way through production – with the most surprising and strange news being that Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley, who played Ghostface killers who were killed off in Scream (1996) and Scream 3, respectively, and David Arquette, whose beloved character Dewey lost his life in Scream (2022), are all in the cast. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Foley admitted that, like many Scream fans, he isn’t sure how his return actually works.

Per Deadline, it's been announced that Scream 7 has recruited Michelle Randolph (Landman) and Jimmy Tatro (The Real Bros of Simi Valley). Details about their roles have not been disclosed, but either one could potentially be playing the next person to be unmasked as a Ghostface killer, given how that changes with each installment. They could also just as easily be playing two more victims of the Ghostface killer. In any case, all fans can do at this time is speculate with no additional information known about the roles.

Randolph is best known for her breakout role in Landman, the Paramount+ series in which she plays the daughter of Billy Bob Thornton's character. She also has a role in the Yellowstone prequel series 1923. Scream 7...

On Monday (February 3), Deadline announced that the 46-year-old actor will be appearing in the upcoming seventh installment of the horror movie franchise.

Ethan is best known for his roles in Grace & Frankie, Brotherhood, Once Upon a Time, and Sweet Home Alabama.

Ethan‘s casting comes after it was announced that an actor from the first movie will be reprising their role in Scream 7.

Filming on Scream 7 kicked off last month, and there are several franchise stars coming back, a couple who are not, and a bunch of new actors joining the movie!

Ethan Embry may only be 46 years old, but he has 35 years of acting credits to his name, having worked on more than 100 different projects. And now he’s set to cross paths with Ghostface, as Deadline reports that he has joined the cast of Scream 7!

Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures once intended to make a Scream 7 that would have starred Scream (2022) and Scream VI leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon at the helm. But then Ortega allegedly asked for a substantial pay raise – and as we saw when Neve Campbell dropped out of Scream VI due to a pay dispute, these pay issues don’t tend to work out. Then Barrera was fired from the project after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. Landon dropped out the of the project soon after.

The list of potential Ghostface suspects and victims grows, as Deadline reports that Ethan Embry has joined the cast of Scream 7.

Legacy cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown are set to return in the sequel, which is currently in production in Atlanta.

Isabel May plays Sidney’s daughter. Other franchise newcomers include Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, and Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband.

Kevin Williamson, writer of the original Scream as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, is directing the latest installment from a script by Guy Busick, who penned Scream 5 and Scream 6.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, of course, but the latest installment in slasher saga is expected to bring the focus back onto Sidney and her family.

Scream 7 is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.

Even though production on Scream 7 began last month, casting is still underway. The latest addition to the slasher ensemble is none other than Ethan Embry, who played the recurring role of Greg Mendell in ABC's Once Upon a Time in its second and third seasons.

According to Deadline, Embry's role remains under wraps. His casting comes after a slew of announcements last week that saw Scott Foley, Matthew Lillard, and Mark Consuelos join the hotly-anticipated slasher. Other attached actors include franchise newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, and Joel McHale, as well as returning alums Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

Scream 7 is scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 27, 2026.

Exclusive: Scott Foley has joined the cast of Scream 7 from Spyglass and Paramount Pictures.

Details regarding his character and the film’s plot are currently under wraps. However, Foley is already part of the Scream universe having portrayed antagonist Roman Bridger, the film director and half-brother of Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) who was revealed to be the Ghostface Killer of Scream 3.

Foley’s casting comes with its own set of questions because Roman was killed by Dewey (David Arquette) at Sidney’s request. Roman has faked his own death before so it’s plausible that he could reprise the role in the present or perhaps in flashback form in the past if he is deceased. Could Roman have a long-lost twin? This is Scream after all, so if he returns as a ghost (face killer?) or a zombie, it would not shock most.

John Cena has made some good movies, and he has made some absolute dross. One of the latter is the 2011 movie The Reunion, which has found a surprising new audience since landing on Tubi this month. The film falls very much into the category that made many question whether Cena could make it as an actor, with the wrestler-turned-actor's attempt to deliver a nuanced performance falling mostly flat. Cena plays Sam, a suspended cop who gets caught up in a dangerous scheme while attempting to claim the inheritance left to him and his siblings by their late father. To many, the nuance was very much lost, and this was not the John Cena that would end up leading several huge franchise projects a decade later.

When it came out, The Reunion was one of Cena’s first movies, and, as would be pointed out by several critics, it was one of several critical bombs.

Characters come and go on The Walking Dead, meaning a lot of guest stars have paid their due time in the zombie apocalypse. The Walking Dead was like the Grey's Anatomy of apocalyptic shows, where actors would star for one or two episodes until they met their fictional death. A lot of these actors were already pretty big in the industry before signing on, and for some, The Walking Dead was their big break.

The Walking Dead didn't start attracting notable guest stars until around Season 6, likely because of the critically acclaimed fifth season. Once the main cast started getting into the double digits, often making it too hard to count, the deaths started racking up. But to be on The Walking Dead for a short time was a rite of passage for a lot of actors, and a fun time to experiment with gory death scenes.

The clip, shared on Instagram, started with a series of insulting and sexist social media about her body followed by footage of her training in the gym for the role.
