Hannah works as the managing director of a packaging company that's not so different from Dunder Mifflin, as she's even joined by several characters who may feel reminiscent of those from the well-known UK and United States versions of The Office. Four years ago, animators Adam and Craig Malamut were thinking about what came next. Their beloved “Game of Zones” (an animated mashup of the modern-day NBA and “Game of Thrones” on Bleacher Report) was ending, and they had some new characters they wanted to bring to life.

“We knew we wanted to bring out these characters and figure out the best setting to put them in and what’s going to feel fresh, especially because the development process takes so long,” Craig Malamut told IndieWire. “[Back then] Andrew Yang was running for president and was talking about universal basic income and AI was in the conversation.”

That was enough of a kernel to prompt “Universal Basic Guys,” the latest addition to Fox’s Sunday night Animation Domination lineup, in which employees at a hot dog factory are left unemployed but with universal basic income — and a lot of free time on their hands.

A new commercial for Lavazza coffee featured the reunion of two alumni from The Office. Steve Carell and John Krasinski, known for their roles as Michael Scott and Jim Halpert on the 2005 TV series, filmed a new commercial for the coffee company recently, according to People. The commercial, starring Luigi, the brands robot, has 8.4 million views on YouTube so far. It is part of Lavazzas ad campaign titled Pleasure Makes Us Human.

In a behind-the-scenes clip, the actors are seen goofing off while drinking from their Lavazza-branded coffee cups. At one point, Carell tells Krasinski, Youre so chicken, after he declines to go along with his joke. Another outtake shows Carell attempting to dunk an Oscar statue into a cup of coffee.

The new offshoot of The Office has added three to its cast. According to Deadline, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young are joining the previously cast Sabrina Impacciatore and Domhnall Gleeson. Peacock ordered the yet-to-be titled comedy in May.

The new mockumentary series from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman will be set in the same universe as The Office. That series aired for nine seasons on NBC. The series starred Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B. J. Novak, Melora Hardin, David Denman, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Ed Helms, Mindy Kaling, Paul Lieberstein, Creed Bratton, Craig Robinson, and Ellie Kemper. It followed the staff of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company.

More cast members have been revealed for Peacock's new series set in the same world as The Office. Reportedly titled The Paper, the series will follow the struggling reporters of a declining newspaper, and five of its cast members are now known.

Per TVLine, the new series has added three new cast members: Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young. Previously, it was announced that Domhnall Gleeson and and Sabrina Impacciatore would be among the starring cast members for the series.

A new trio of familiar actors have signed on for the second season of the acclaimed Peacock series.

In a statement, NBCU Entertainment's president of scripted content, Lisa Katz, said, "Its been more than 10 years since the final episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock.

“The Masked Singer” is back later this month, and Variety has the first look at one of the opening performances — as well as a reveal of two more costumes. First up, here’s “Ship,” who performs a slowed down, moody version of Bastille’s “Pompeii” in the season premiere episode airing Wednesday, Sept 25th on Fox.

And then, there are two more costume reveals: “Leaf Sheep” and “Woodpecker,” who join “Ship” and the previously revealed “Chess Piece.”

New this season, clues will be “strategically embedded in costumes, in song choices and on-stage moments.” And the fifteen celebrity contestants will be endorsed by a “celebrity Masked Ambassador,” made up of previous participants including Dick Van Dyke (Season 9’s Gnome), Jewel (Season 6 winner as the Queen of Hearts), Ne-yo (Season 10 winner as the Cow) and DeMarcus Ware (Season 11’s Koala).

TV show remakes can surpass originals by introducing new interpretations of characters, like in The Office and Shameless. Some remakes change the tone or setting of the original, like Dynasty moving from Denver to Atlanta and Bel-Air's grittier approach. Veep proves remakes can be successful by maintaining the satirical humor of the original, even with a different name and setting.

There are multiple TV show remakes that, in theory, shouldve been terrible but are actually absolutely great. Many of the best TV shows of all time are remakes, but the definition of remake has varied. Some remakes reuse the same concept as the original but introduce new interpretations of audiences favorite characters, like The Office, whereas others recreate the same story and personalities but with a few detail changes, such as Shameless.

The prank centers on Ben and Tanner, two seniors who cook up an elaborate scheme to get back at their brutal physics teacher, Mrs. Wheeler. When the no-nonsense educator fails the whole class due to one student’s cheating, the fed-up friends take revenge by planting false evidence online linking Wheeler to a missing student. Their lighthearted prank soon spirals out of control as the fake news spreads like wildfire.

Directed by Maureen Bharoocha and showcased at the SXSW Film Festival, the comedy/thriller promised subversive social commentary through its digitally-driven plot. Legendary actress Rita Moreno sinks her teeth into the villainous role of Wheeler, no doubt relishing the chance to play against type. However, while the setup suggested intriguing themes around student stress and the fog of online misinformation, the execution proves inconsistent.

An uneven tonal mix of satire and mystery, the narrative complicates matters further with each implausible twist.

The Office completely revolutionized the mockumentary-style sitcom genre. The show, which was adapted from the same-titled British series, debuted in 2005 and ran for nine seasons. However, despite having a sizable fan base that continued to this day, the show had its fair share of embarrassing moments. One that specifically features Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) and Pam Beesley (Jenna Fischer) at the forefront.

Plenty of TV shows should have ended earlier to preserve their quality and legacy. Some of the best season finales could easily be series finales. The perfect ending for a show often comes a few seasons before the actual series finale.

There are plenty of TV shows which outstay their welcome, even though they sometimes give themselves the perfect finale before officially wrapping things up. A season finale can often act as a great series finale in hindsight, or a random mid-season may just stumble upon a poignant and beautiful final scene which sums up the entire arc of the show. Unfortunately, not many shows tend to quit while they're ahead.

Shows with disappointing finales can frustrate fans, especially when the same show wasted a potentially brilliant ending a few seasons earlier. When writers are free from the pressure of a series finale, they often inadvertently stumble upon the perfect ending.

With “Dancing with the Stars” set to come back for a 33rd season this fall, there’s a long list of celebrities who deserve to compete on the dance floor. Three of my past suggestions did ultimately become “DWTS” contestants: Frankie Muniz (who came in third in season 25), Kel Mitchell (who came in second in season 28), and Jamie Lynn Spears (who was the second to be eliminated last season).
