Talk show veteran Conan O’Brien was feted with the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Sunday in a lively production that blended accolades from numerous colleagues with occasional jabs at the Trump administration by participants — included the evening’s honoree.

Fresh off his emcee duties at the Academy Awards, O’Brien received the Mark Twain prize from David Letterman at the conclusion of the roast-style love fest from numerous comedians at the annual affair. If you saw Alan Alda's 1981 version of The Four Seasons, you know the film was a charming, if not overly biting, drama-comedy about three couples who go on vacations each season. The happy dynamic is broken once one of the couples splits up. One of the persons in that couple ends up bringing a much younger person along on following trips.
If you were a fan of the film, you should be excited to know that Tina Fey created an adaptation in a series format and bringing that to Netflix. The series with feature eight 30-minute long episodes. That implies Fey's adaptation will be much more of a pure comedy than a melodrama. Good.
In fact, the new trailer for the series dropped by Netflix on Thursday implies the series won't only be funny, but a little goofy, too. Great. That is honestly only likely to make the premise funnier.

While it once seemed improbable, it looks like Coyote vs. Acme may soon be coming to a theater near you!
According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment is in advanced negotiations to acquire the animated/live-action hybrid feature from Warner Bros, in a deal that's estimated to be in the $50 million range. The independent distributer-financier previously rescued The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which is currently playing in theaters.
In recent years, Ketchup has also been behind the releases of Weekend in Taipei, Goodrich, Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Memory, Ferrari, Hypnotic, and Bushwick.
The trade does note that the deal could still fall apart, but things are progressing in the right direction for now. If/when the deal is finalized, expect to see Coyote vs. Acme hit theaters sometime in 2026.
The studio previously tried to sell the film early last year for approximately $70 million, which is believed to...

No Saturday Night Live character of recent vintage gets under my skin quite like Domingo, the gyrating Marcello Hernandez creation who cheats with Chloe Fineman when hubby Andrew Dismukes’ back is turned. The first Domingo sketch was fine but forgettable, but now he returns every few weeks to have his way with Fineman once again. Blame TikTok, since the sketch lends itself to memeable dance shorts that make up for the sketches’ inability to extend the original cuckold joke.
Redditors agree, as Domingo got multiple nominations and scores of votes in a recent r/LiveFromNewYork thread that asked the question, “What are some top examples of a joke getting stretched too thin?” But Domingo had plenty of company, mostly from SNL recurring characters that repeated the same catchphrases over and over again. Here are five of the most upvoted nominations for SNL sketches that ran a single joke into the ground…...

It's been a dark time for fans of Warner Bros. and their expansive ownership of various IPs and characters. While there has been a clear investment in things like James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe, there has also been what could be considered a purging of content in the name of tax write-offs and profitability. Among such write-offs was the live-action-animated hybrid film Coyote vs. Acme, which had tried to find a new distributor early last year before ultimately being shelved. However, a new report has provided a big update on the film's future, as a potential new buyer has entered the fray.
A new report from Deadline has revealed that Ketchup Entertainment, the distributor and financier that also bought The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, is in "deep-sale negotiations" for the movie centered around Wile E. Coyote and his legal battle against Acme.

It turns out that’s not all, folks. The “Looney Tunes” live-action hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” has finally found a new home — and with a theatrical release. Ketchup Entertainment is set to acquire the Warner Bros. Discovery (Wbd)-axed film, according to reports. IndieWire has reached out to reps at Wbd and Ketchup for confirmation. Wbd had no comment. A source close to the film said the Ketchup deal is indeed in the works.
As Deadline reported on Wednesday, Ketchup Entertainment is negotiating an all-rights acquisition in the $50 million range for “Coyote vs. Acme,” with respect to the film’s reported $70-million budget.
If the deal closes, “Coyote vs. Acme” will also receive a theatrical release, much like the critically acclaimed “The Day the Earth Blew Up.” Originally commissioned for Max, “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie” also landed at Ketchup Entertainment. The film has...

One of the biggest Hollywood tragedies of the past decade is the tendency by studios — mostly David Zaslav's regime at Warner Bros. — to disregard art and throw it in the garbage as a misguided tax write-off. It's insulting to the art form, to say the last, and a kick in the groin to the hundreds of people who put their time and effort to make movies like "Batgirl," "Scoob! Holiday Haunt," and of course, "Coyote vs. Acme."
The film would have marked the fourth live-action/animation hybrid movie starring Looney Tunes characters, until David Zaslav decided to become public enemy #1 and spit in the face of cinema by shelving the completed picture. "Coyote vs. Acme" centers on the titular Wile E. Coyote, who finally has enough of his myriad Acme products backfiring and decides to sue the company. The film stars Will Forte as Wile E. Coyote's lawyer and...

Looney Tunes fans, put down the TNT. Drop the anvil. There is hope. Coyote Vs. Acme may well get a release after all. Back in 2023, the Looney Tunes live-action-animation hybrid movie – starring Will Forte as lawyer to the hapless Wile E. Coyote, seeking legal compensation for years of disastrous Acme Corporation products – was shelved by Warner Bros for a tax write-off. Similarly to Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt, the conditions of its scrapping were intended to make sure it never saw release, despite early word on the film being exceedingly positive. But according to Deadline, a deal may be in the works.
The report states that negotiations are underway for the sale of Coyote Vs. Acme to Ketchup Entertainment – the US distributor who rescued and recently released fellow Looney Tunes film The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tuned Movie on big screens across the pond. Apparently the deal is not yet done,...

Previously threatened with deletion, Coyote Vs Acme could be getting a cinema release in 2026 if a new deal can be made.
Threatened with deletion by Warner Bros in 2023, the Looney Tunes-themed comedy Coyote Vs Acme might – just might – be getting a release after all. The latest story goes that the studio is in negotiations to sell the shelved movie to Ketchup Entertainment – the same distributor that released The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie in US cinemas earlier this month.
The news comes via Deadline, which reports that Ketchup could be about to spend roughly $50m on Coyote Vs Acme if the talks are successful. If it does happen, then the movie could finally, after three long years, get a cinema release in 2026, the same report adds.
It’s worth sounding a note of caution here, though. There have been on-again, off-again stories about Warner Bros...

Coyote vs. Acme, the film that ignited social media when Warner Bros. canceled it for a tax write-off, may see the light of day after all. Indie outfit Ketchup Entertainment is eyeing the rights to the film, which stars Will Forte and John Cena opposite an animated Wile E. Coyote.
Ketchup and Warners have been discussing a roughly $50 million deal for some time that would put the project in theaters in 2026, though it’s still unclear if it will close. Warner Bros. declined to comment.
Ketchup has a history putting Looney Tunes movies in theaters. It distributed The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie after Warner Bros. Discovery opted to shop the film rather than release it itself. Released wide last weekend, it has earned $5.5 million globally.
Ketchup has also backed projects such as Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Ben Affleck starrer Hypnotic and Michael Mann’s Ferrari.

Warner Bros. Discovery shelved Coyote vs. Acme in November 2023 for a tax write-off. Since then, the cast has been very vocal about trying to make the movie happen.
The actors have shared high praise for the live-action animated hybrid film, encouraging fans not to forget about it. It looks like the efforts might have paid off because Coyote vs. Acme has a brand-new chance to see the light of a theater. Per Deadline, Warner Bros. is currently negotiating a big sale for the previously shelved movie.
Gareth West’s distributor-financier Ketchup Entertainment is now involved in negotiations with the studio, hoping to acquire the rights for the film in the $50 million range. This comes after Ketchup saved a different Looney Tunes project, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, currently in theaters. Warner Bros. wrote the film off for tax purposes for $30 million.
So far, the two haven't reached an official agreement.

The release of Coyote vs. Acme is starting to look more likely as Warner Bros. has been negotiating with a distributor to sell them the shelved project. The Coyote vs. Acme movie was originally cancelled by Warner Bros. in November 2023 for a tax write-off despite being complete. However, the movie started getting shopped to potential distributors after public backlash. By April 2024, it seemed the studio was unable to come to agreeable terms with potential buyers, leaving the movie shelved for the foreseeable future. However, it had not been outright cancelled despite a lack of news about its fate.
Now, Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is in talks to sell Coyote vs. Acme to distributor Ketchup Entertainment for around $50 million. The distribution and financier company previously bought The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which was released in theaters on March 14, 2025. Exclusive: Warner Bros’ shelved movie Coyote vs. Acme finally might have found a new home with the studio deep in sale negotiations, we can reveal.
Gareth West’s distributor-financier Ketchup Entertainment is negotiating an all-rights acquisition in the $50 million range for the animated/live-action hybrid project. Ketchup last year rescued the same studio’s The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie.
The pact isn’t finalized and there’s still a chance it doesn’t make, but it’s heading in the right direction. Should it get over the line, the film would get a theatrical release in 2026.
The deal would mark a significant and record outlay for Ketchup, whose previous releases have included Michael Keaton starrer Goodrich, comic book reboot Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Ben Affleck thriller Hypnotic, and Michel Franco’s Jessica Chastain drama Memory.
Directed by David Green and written by May December scribe Samy Burch,...

Looney Tunes fans probably thought that the arrival of The Day the Earth Blew Up in cinemas might be a turning point for the legendary animated franchise, but it seems that Warner Bros. Discovery has instead decided to make it harder than ever for fans to be able to watch the antics of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and other colorful characters. Not content with locking the Coyote vs Acme movie away in a safe, inside a box, wrapped in chains and behind a roomful of lazers, a host of Looney Tunes programs, along with several Scooby Doo movies and two Tom & Jerry movies, have now been quietly dropped from Max.
According to Deadline, the decision has been made to cut back "children's" content on Max to focus on family and adult content going forward. This is not the first time that Wbd has decided to push aside...

Most Looney Tunes movies that made it to theaters in the past deserved to be hit with a few sticks of dynamite. But that’s not the case with The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, out now in theaters. Unlike many of its predecessors, The Day the Earth Blew Up is neither over-budgeted nor underwhelming; in fact, it manages to capture the spirit of the original Looney Tunes shorts, especially those of director Bob Clampett, pretty wonderfully.
While each of the classic Looney Tunes directors had their own unique stamp, Clampett’s cartoons were generally regarded as the silliest and most unpredictable, which is precisely what we see with The Day the Earth Blew Up. Starring Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in a Dumb and Dumber-like buddy comedy in which the duo must save the planet from an alien invasion, the film is a gag-filled romp.

In the past few years, Warner Bros. Discovery shelved several films to obtain massive tax write-offs instead of releasing them, including theatrically, VOD, etc. The films that may never see the light of day are Batgirl, Scoob! Holiday Haunt, and Coyote Vs. Acme. And now a fan has decided to protest Warner Bros. by dressing up as Wile E. Coyote with a sign saying, "Release me!!"

Following public outcry, Warner Bros. allowed the producers to shop Coyote Vs. Acme around to other studios and streaming services. However, WB wanted $75 to $80 million for the film and turned down offers from Paramount, Netflix, and Amazon.

A lone, costumed, umbrella-wielding Looney Tunes fan is single-handedly trying to drum up public outcry over the cancellation of the live-action/animated comedy Coyote vs. Acme after the film finished production. Fight hard, comrade, and look out for riot police, giant red Xs and dangling pianos.
Back in late 2023, controversial Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav pulled numerous completed projects from the media mega-conglomerate’s release schedule that the previous Warner Bros. regime greenlit prior to the merger that put him in charge of the Warner Bros. movie empire the year before. Among the list of franchise films that Zaslav axed in favor of a tax cut was Coyote vs. Acme, a legal comedy with a star-studded cast that would have provided a fresh take on the hapless cartoon coyote’s constantly backfiring pursuit of his mortal enemy, the Roadrunner.
Thanks to Zaslav’s love of crooked Hollywood accounting, Wile E.
