If you saw Alan Alda's 1981 version of The Four Seasons, you know the film was a charming, if not overly biting, drama-comedy about three couples who go on vacations each season. The happy dynamic is broken once one of the couples splits up. One of the persons in that couple ends up bringing a much younger person along on following trips.

If you were a fan of the film, you should be excited to know that Tina Fey created an adaptation in a series format and bringing that to Netflix. The series with feature eight 30-minute long episodes. That implies Fey's adaptation will be much more of a pure comedy than a melodrama. Good.

In fact, the new trailer for the series dropped by Netflix on Thursday implies the series won't only be funny, but a little goofy, too. Great. That is honestly only likely to make the premise funnier.

A new report from Deadline has revealed that Ketchup Entertainment, the distributor and financier that also bought The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, is in "deep-sale negotiations" for the movie centered around Wile E. Coyote and his legal battle against Acme.

It turns out that’s not all, folks. The “Looney Tunes” live-action hybrid film “Coyote vs. Acme” has finally found a new home — and with a theatrical release. Ketchup Entertainment is set to acquire the Warner Bros. Discovery (Wbd)-axed film, according to reports. IndieWire has reached out to reps at Wbd and Ketchup for confirmation. Wbd had no comment. A source close to the film said the Ketchup deal is indeed in the works.

As Deadline reported on Wednesday, Ketchup Entertainment is negotiating an all-rights acquisition in the $50 million range for “Coyote vs. Acme,” with respect to the film’s reported $70-million budget.

Threatened with deletion by Warner Bros in 2023, the Looney Tunes-themed comedy Coyote Vs Acme might – just might – be getting a release after all. The latest story goes that the studio is in negotiations to sell the shelved movie to Ketchup Entertainment – the same distributor that released The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie in US cinemas earlier this month.

The news comes via Deadline, which reports that Ketchup could be about to spend roughly $50m on Coyote Vs Acme if the talks are successful. If it does happen, then the movie could finally, after three long years, get a cinema release in 2026, the same report adds.

Coyote vs. Acme, the film that ignited social media when Warner Bros. canceled it for a tax write-off, may see the light of day after all. Indie outfit Ketchup Entertainment is eyeing the rights to the film, which stars Will Forte and John Cena opposite an animated Wile E. Coyote.

Ketchup and Warners have been discussing a roughly $50 million deal for some time that would put the project in theaters in 2026, though it’s still unclear if it will close. Warner Bros. declined to comment.

Ketchup has a history putting Looney Tunes movies in theaters. It distributed The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie after Warner Bros. Discovery opted to shop the film rather than release it itself. Released wide last weekend, it has earned $5.5 million globally.

Ketchup has also backed projects such as Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Ben Affleck starrer Hypnotic and Michael Mann’s Ferrari.

Warner Bros. Discovery shelved Coyote vs. Acme in November 2023 for a tax write-off. Since then, the cast has been very vocal about trying to make the movie happen.

The actors have shared high praise for the live-action animated hybrid film, encouraging fans not to forget about it. It looks like the efforts might have paid off because Coyote vs. Acme has a brand-new chance to see the light of a theater. Per Deadline, Warner Bros. is currently negotiating a big sale for the previously shelved movie.

Gareth West’s distributor-financier Ketchup Entertainment is now involved in negotiations with the studio, hoping to acquire the rights for the film in the $50 million range. This comes after Ketchup saved a different Looney Tunes project, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, currently in theaters. Warner Bros. wrote the film off for tax purposes for $30 million.

So far, the two haven't reached an official agreement.

Gareth West’s distributor-financier Ketchup Entertainment is negotiating an all-rights acquisition in the $50 million range for the animated/live-action hybrid project. Ketchup last year rescued the same studio’s The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie.

The pact isn’t finalized and there’s still a chance it doesn’t make, but it’s heading in the right direction. Should it get over the line, the film would get a theatrical release in 2026.

The deal would mark a significant and record outlay for Ketchup, whose previous releases have included Michael Keaton starrer Goodrich, comic book reboot Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Ben Affleck thriller Hypnotic, and Michel Franco’s Jessica Chastain drama Memory.

Max almost wants nothing to do with the Looney Tunes brand these days, as most of t he franchise's content has been scrubbed from the streaming service. However, fans will be able to watch some of the removed Looney Tunes programming for free at its new streaming home.

This week, it was revealed that Max flushed 255 episodes of the original Looney Tunes cartoons, leaving very little left from the franchise still available to watch. This follows previous removals that had already been done with the Looney Tunes franchise months ago, which included some of the other classic episodes along with the two-season reboot, The Looney Tunes Show, which originally aired on Cartoon Network between 2011 and 2013. Most Looney Tunes movies that made it to theaters in the past deserved to be hit with a few sticks of dynamite. But that’s not the case with The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, out now in theaters. Unlike many of its predecessors, The Day the Earth Blew Up is neither over-budgeted nor underwhelming; in fact, it manages to capture the spirit of the original Looney Tunes shorts, especially those of director Bob Clampett, pretty wonderfully.

While each of the classic Looney Tunes directors had their own unique stamp, Clampett’s cartoons were generally regarded as the silliest and most unpredictable, which is precisely what we see with The Day the Earth Blew Up. Starring Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in a Dumb and Dumber-like buddy comedy in which the duo must save the planet from an alien invasion, the film is a gag-filled romp.
