The 2025 Children’s & Family Emmy Awards honored standout productions, with Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Orion and the Dark, and Sesame Street projects among the biggest winners. Percy Jackson and the Olympians led with eight wins out of its 16 nominations, securing best young teen series and directing for a single-camera live-action series for the episode I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher, which tied with A Real Bug’s Life episode The Big City. The series, recently renewed for a third season ahead of its second-season debut, has drawn substantial viewership on Disney+.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Orion and the Dark and projects from the Sesame Street universe were among the big winners at the 2025 Children’s and Family Emmy Awards main and creative arts ceremonies on Saturday.

Percy Jackson, which scored an early season three renewal on Friday, months before season two premieres on Disney+, won eight of the 16 awards for which it was nominated. The series has recorded more viewing time than any original show on Disney+ outside of the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, as measured by Nielsen.

In the main ceremony, Percy Jackson won best young teen series and directing for a single-camera live-action series “I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher” in a tie with “The Big City” episode of A Real Bug’s Life. It won six more awards in the creative arts ceremony.

Michael Caine would seem like an unlikely Ebenezer Scrooge, but the man nailed it in The Muppet Christmas Carol, delivering what many consider the best version of the character ever, up there with Alastair Sim and George C. Scott. And to channel the most miserly of misers against the most Muppety of Muppets, Caine did the unexpected: he went Shakespearan and Hannibal Lecter.

Michael Caine can be terribly funny, but to play Scrooge, he knew he had to go a different route to not only match the character but to play against some off of the Muppets. As recounted in The Guardian, Caine said, “I’m going to play this movie like I’m working with the Royal Shakespeare Company. I will never wink, I will never do anything Muppety. I am going to play Scrooge as if it is an utterly dramatic role and there are no puppets around me.

"Schadenfreude came in and out pretty quick," she told The Direct. "He was really fun. It's a German word for an emotion where you laugh at people's pain. Which is very teenager-y because you don't have a frontal lobe, and it's why we all laugh at pratfalls. Because somebody falls, we laugh; it's funny, right? But why does our brain do that? That's Schadenfreude. But he didn't make it."

Pixar Animation often brings in some of the best voice talent in the business for the animated features, even if it's just for bit parts. For example, the original "Inside Out" featured the voices of Frank Oz and Dave Goelz as a pair of bickering subconscious guards inside Riley's mind. Oz is probably best known for bringing life to Yoda in the "Star Wars" saga, but he was also behind beloved Muppets like Fozzie Bear and Miss Piggy, as well as "Sesame Street" characters like Grover and Bert. Meanwhile, Goelz is known for playing Gonzo and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew in various Muppets productions over the years. The latest clip from Disney and Pixars upcoming Inside Out 2 movie has been dropped, featuring a closer look at one of Rileys newest emotions. Besides Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassing, the sequel is expected to introduce other new characters within Rileys mind.

Shared by Discussing Film on X, the Inside Out 2 clip provides fans with the first footage of the Nostalgia emotion, who is depicted in the form of an elderly lady reminiscing on previous memories. The new character is voiced by Oscar nominee June Squibb, who first collaborated with Pixar in Toy Story 4, in which she voiced an antique shop owner. The Nebraska actor will next be seen in the comedy movie Thelma, and in Scarlett Johanssons feature directorial debut Eleanor the Great.

During a recent interview with Empire, Holstein and Mann believed that introducing Rileys Belief System would be giving fans "the emotional hit" that was lacking from the first installment. "Now that Rileys a teenager, shes starting to develop her own set of beliefs," Mann explained. "What if we actually hear Riley say her beliefs in her own voice? If you hear her say, Im kind,' you can hear [in] the performance how she feels about that. Or, 'My parents are proud of me.' On the flip-side, if theres a belief thats not so good, you can really hear the emotion of it."

The official runtime for Disney and Pixars highly-anticipated animated sequel Inside Out 2 has been revealed. This comes ahead of its special screening at the upcoming Annecy International Animated Film Festival.

According to the Annecy Festival website, Inside Out 2 will have a total running time of 100 minutes or an hour and 40 minutes, making it a bit longer than the original 2015 movie. The sequels Annecy Festival screening will also be attended by director Kelsey Mann and producer Mark Nielsen. The film will feature returning voice members Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, and Lewis Black as Anger, Diane Lane as Mrs. Anderson and Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Anderson. As for Fear and Disgust, Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling have been replaced by Tony Hale and Liza Lapira as the new voice actors for the said characters.

Riley is growing up. And that brings out a whole new set of emotions to the animated sequel Inside Out 2.

The Pixar sequel to the 2015 film, which followed five personified basic emotions inside the mind of Riley, will be out in theaters on June 14. The film will follow the five original emotions who are forced to work with new feelings.

Among the new voices are Tony Hale, replacing Bill Hader as Fear, and and Liza Lapira, who will replace Mindy Kaling as disgust. Adèle Exarchopoulos will also join the cast to voice new character Ennui.

The first "Pigs in Space" segment of "The Muppet Show" occurred in the third episode of the show's second season, the one hosted by Milton Berle. The Electric Mayhem Band is breaking up after Disney+ canceled its latest Muppets show.

The streamer has axed live-action series The Muppets Mayhem, which comes from The Goldbergs creator Adam F. Goldberg, after one season.

The ten-part series was released in May but Disney+ never disclosed any ratings for the show.

The cancellation marks a blow for plans for a wider Muppetverse; Goldberg previously expressed interest in branching out using the classic IP, which includes some of Disney’s most recognizable characters.

It is the latest cancelation at Disney+ this year; other shows to have been axed include The Spiderwick Chronicles, which has since been shopped to Roku, National Treasure, Doogie Kamealoha, M.D., Willow, Big Shot and Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.
