Exclusive: A short film starring The Walking Dead and The Wire star Seth Gilliam and Emmy-nominee Sonja O’Hara (Doomsday) is being adapted as a feature.

Paranormal crime thriller Stakeout is directed and written by Micah Khan (The Zombie Wedding) and written by Khan, Victoria Diana, and David Wappel. The film explores a pair of detectives tracking a brutal serial killer and is planned as the intro into multiple features set in a crime-ridden world suffering from a hidden vampire epidemic.

Gilliam and O’Hara are both attached for the feature, which is aiming to shoot this year.

The short film is produced by Khan, Natalie Stavola, Katrina Kearns (I Feel Fine), Victoria Diana (Books), and Francesco Cordero, with executive producers Patrick Regan and 7th Draft Productions. Stavola is developing three features with Khan: the feature-length version of Stakeout, The Captain and The Last Farm.

Exclusive: Corbin Bernsen (Clipped) has wrapped production on Woodstockers, an indie TV pilot for which he wrote the original draft, in which he stars opposite Stephen Tobolowsky (Nobody Wants This).

The original logline for the dark generational comedy teased the story of “two guys who went to Woodstock in ’69 and never left,” with Bernsen and Tobolowsky respectively playing friends Lenny Baker and Cal Reddick. But per Bernsen, who relocated to the Hudson Vally six years ago, “Early on I had the good fortune to connect with Michael Lang, one of the original organizers of Woodstock, and quickly discovered a deeper story about the 60’s and a generation who espoused ‘Love and Peace,’ but failed in their early attempts to ‘change the world.’ At the same time, I witnessed a new generation dusting off the “hippie” mantra and giving it their own spin.”

The project is headlined by Spencer Grammer, who voices Summer Smith in Rick and Morty, and Ajay Naidu, who starred in Office Space.

Filmed at Market Block Books, an independent bookstore in Troy, New York this week, the pilot follows cancelled author Wren Wild (Grammer) as she leads a quirky crew willing to do anything to keep their bookstore alive. Naidu plays her silent partner Murry, a former book agent who has no idea what he’s doing.

She’s worked for the devil, become the queen to a bunch of aliens, had an incest baby with her brother and single-handedly killed a group of bad guys trying to “do a Die Hard.”

Spencer Grammer is the woman who has given the teen her voice — as well as helped further hone that voice after all these years. I recently spoke to Grammer about Summer’s most badass moments, how she’s found herself becoming as vulgar as Summer and the lines she knows every Rick and Morty fan wants to hear (they’re also very vulgar).

When Adult Swim aired the 22-minute pilot of Rick and Morty on December 2, 2013, the first episode from the series adaptation of some unnamed asshole’s crass, chaotic Back to the Future parody came with a promise – “A hundred years Rick and Morty!” At the time, the star power of Community creator and Rick and Morty co-head Dan Harmon was hardly enough to ensure a century’s worth of episodes from a series that had just premiered on a random Monday night at the beginning of winter, but, within the first few seasons of Rick and Morty’s evolution into Adult Swim’s flagship series and the internet’s most talked-about sci-fi comedy phenomenon, Adult Swim made the wise decision to book Harmon and his forgettable partner through a full ten seasons and 100 episodes.

A hundred years of “Rick and Morty” is starting to become less of a joke and more of a promise. Brooks and Spencer Grammer (Rick and Morty) will lead the voice cast of Enormous, which is inspired by Stephen Kramer Glickman’s personal journey battling depression with the help of his dog’s love. Airing next summer, the film follows Stephen, a man devastated after a breakup with his girlfriend, as he sinks into depression with only his pug, Jelly Donut, to keep him company in his empty house. In a story twist, Jelly Donut finds an unexpected way to help him rediscover joy and begin to care for himself again.

Spencer Grammer, Harland Williams, Will Friedle, Harry Lennix, Juliana Harkavy and John Dimaggio are among the performers comprising the ensemble voice cast of the animated sci-fi comedy movie Isla Monstro.

Hailing from multimedia company Abyssmal Entertainment, the feature has completed production and launches promotion at San Diego Comic-Con with a booth and a panel taking place Saturday. The project is directed and animated by Steven Shea (Surviving Supercon), who co-wrote the script with James Schrader, and it is currently seeking distribution.

Isla Monstro centers on ne’er-do-well Duke (voiced by Schrader), who falls off a cruise ship and awakens on an abandoned, top secret government island that is rampant with mutants and monsters left over from a failed “super soldier” mission from the 1980s. Duke concocts a scheme to convert the island into a high-class resort getaway with the creatures serving as staff, which does not please the U.S. government.

Season 7 of the long-running animated series Rick and Morty introduced new voice actors in the lead roles following the exit of co-creator Justin Roiland. There was some uncertainty behind the scenes about whether the series would be able to move forward with the change, but co-creator Dan Harmon has recognized that the fans have embraced this "new era" of the show.

Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon has an idea about what could potentially trigger the ending of the popular adult-animated sitcom.

After nearly a decade since Rick and Morty made its series debut in Dec. 2013, the Adult Swim series still shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, as it prepares to enter its seventh installment this October. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Harmon revealed that if it’s only up to him, he would like Rick and Morty to run for 100 seasons because "it’s designed to." When asked about his thoughts on how the show would wrap up the titular duo’s storyline, Harmon revealed that Rick and Morty’s adventures could possibly end once Morty becomes an official teenager.

In August 2020, Roiland was arrested and charged with felony domestic battery and false imprisonment. NBC News reported the charges early this year, before the pre-trial hearing. Multiple people came forward with their own allegations of abuse, including a female writer on the show's staff who claimed sexual harassment. Adult Swim severed ties with Roiland. The felony charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence, but the cable channel has not brought Roiland back. His characters have been recast with unknown soundalike actors.
