Death Down the Aisle begins with the tantalizing image of a bride, Malorie (Jess Brown), dressed in a wedding dress splattered with blood.

This is a brief (unnecessary) in media res opening before writer Audrey C. Marie jumps the action back to earlier in the day. It’s the day of the wedding, Malorie is preparing to wed Jon (David Alexander) and there’s a whirlwind introduction of wedding guests, many of whom are either family, work associates from Jon’s legal firm, or both.

Most of these relationships aren’t clear until after Jon’s death (this isn’t a spoiler; his death is heavily telegraphed by director Roxanne Boisvert). Only after the murder does it become clear that Death Down The Aisle is primarily interested in exploring red herrings, gossipy busy bodies, and characters making A Lot of phone calls.

Millennium Entertainment has released the domestic trailer for Juan Diego Solanas' fantasy romance movie, Upside Down. Jim Sturgess and Kirsten Dunst star as two lovers, who live on adjacent planets with reverse gravitational pulls and strict political systems that don't allow planetary relationships.

Talk about on the nose: if you thought the premise of Juan Solanas’ “Upside Down” was a little lacking in subtlety, seeing the trailer really makes that point. In short: the rich people live on top, the poor on the bottom; so that the rich are, literally, looking down at the poor. Heh. Hey, at least the film looks pretty damn good. The cast is composed of international actors: Kirsten Dunst and Jim Sturgess. As for the story, she falls into a world where different worlds meet. Adam lives in one of these worlds, struggling within a civilization ravaged by war and haunted by memories of a young woman from another world, very close, so close, but denied entry.

TORONTO -- Shannen Doherty, Michel Francoeur and Jayne Heitmeyer lead the cast of the telefilm Nightlight, which began shooting in Montreal on Wednesday. The film, helmed by Louis Belanger (Post Mortem), is Montreal-based JB Media's third telefilm this year. Doherty stars as a young woman who unwittingly becomes the victim of a stalker and voyeur. Hearst Entertainment holds international rights, while Incendo Media is the distributor in Canada, the United States and all French-speaking European and African territories. Producer credits on Nightlight go to Jean Bureau, Josee Mauffette and Serge Denis. Stephen Greenberg, Jean Bureau and Jodi Ticknor are executive producing the project.
