Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel will co-write the next “Fast and Furious” movie with “Fast X” helmer Louis Leterrier returning to direct.

Last week, Variety exclusively revealed that Leterrier would direct the next installment of “Fast and Furious,” which serves as a companion film to “Fast X,” opening May 19. The 11th film in the Vin Diesel-starring franchise will mark Hodson and Uziel’s first official collaboration.

While news of the team up might come as a surprise to some, the two in-demand creatives are friends and share office space, which made the decision to work together practically inevitable.

Hodson is a British-born, Los Angeles-based, writer and producer, who is best known for writing Paramount’s 2018 “Transformers” prequel “Bumblebee” and writing and co-producing 2020’s “Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey” for Warner Bros. and DC Comics. Her next project is the highly anticipated “The Flash” movie, also for Warner Bros. and DC Comics.

Exclusive: Although we are still weeks away from the premiere of Fast X, things are in motion for the Fast & Furious finale that will follow. Universal has set The Flash screenwriter Christina Hodson and Cloverfield screenwriter Oren Uziel to pen next installment, following news last week that Fast X director Louis Leterrier will return for the next film, which is being described as a companion to Fast X.

Jenna Ortega hosted Saturday Night Live with musical guest The 1975 and it brought us a great show overall. And one of the first sketches of the night was Ortega hanging out with the boys of Please Don't Destroy. The comedy group, which is made up of Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy, has slowly continued to make a name for themselves on Saturday Night Live and this is one of the first times that their sketch of the night was up front and center. But it was a pretty great one.

Jenna Ortega tells the Please Don’t Destroy guys — Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy — that she won’t do the Wednesday Dance she made famous in her Netflix series, but is ultimately persuaded in a “Saturday Night Live” promo clip released on Wednesday.

She’s the only one not dressed like her Gothic character in the clip, which you can watch above. All three male comedians are wearing a variation on her frilled black gown. She takes the stage and half-heartedly goes through the motions from the viral dance routine while looking exceedingly bored.

Ortega, who also stars in “Scream VI,” which opens on Friday March 10, hosts “SNL” for the first time this Saturday, March 11.

Jenna Ortega reluctantly agreed to recreate the dance scene from Tim Burton’s Netflix series Wednesday for her Saturday Night Live promo on Wednesday.

“Honestly, this is really well-written, I just don’t feel like I want to do the Wednesday dance for promo because we’ve seen so much of that already and I think it’s time to do something new,” the actress tells the Please Don’t Destroy crew in the clip. Jenna Ortega is sharing her honest feedback about revisiting the viral Wednesday dance in her Saturday Night Live promo.

Ortega, who stars in the new horror film Scream VI, makes her hosting debut March 11 on the NBC sketch comedy series. She will be joined by musical guest The 1975, who previously appeared on the show in 2016.

In a video released Wednesday, Ortega holds a script for a sketch about her hit Netflix series Wednesday. As the actress explains to SNL’s Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy, who collectively make up the group Please Don’t Destroy, she doesn’t have a problem with the material they’ve written, but she also doesn’t feel up for performing her character’s popular dance again.

The Please Don’t Destroy Boys have ambushed yet another of SNL‘s big-name hosts. In a promo for this week’s show, Ben Marshall, John Higgins and Martin Herlihy try to convince Jenna Ortega to do the Wednesday dance with them.

Ortega, of course, demurs. After all, the bit became a social media hit last year and the actress has likely been asked to perform it hundreds of times by fans.

But the boys are not put off so easily. They’ve each dressed up as Wednesday and employ a bit of reverse psychology.
