Brother Marquis, the rapper and longtime member of hip-hop group 2 Live Crew, has died at 58.

His death was announced on 2 Live Crew’s Instagram account on Monday night. The post did not indicate a cause of death or where the rapper died.

Founded in 1984 in Riverside, CA, 2 Live Crew found its most famous line-up after moving to Miami, where in 1986 Brother Marquis (aka Mark Ross) joined Christopher Wong Won (Fresh Kid Ice), Luther Campbell (Luke Skyywalker); and David Hobbs (Mr. Mixx).

That line-up would see the group’s greatest fame and impact in the late 1980s and early-mid 1990s, perhaps reaching a peak with the 1989 album As Nasty as They Wanna Be, which drew praise from fans and critics but condemnation from commentators and law enforcement for its sexually explicit language.

In 1990, a Florida undercover police officer attended a club performance, prompting misdemeanor obscenity charges to be filed against the group.

Jackson Brundage played the role of Jamie Scott in One Tree Hill from season 5 until the show ended in 2012. After One Tree Hill, Brundage had a few TV roles and starred as a series regular in the comedy See Dad Run. Brundage retired from acting in 2015 and has since been fairly active on social media, interacting with fans and sharing his adventures.

Joining the One Tree Hill cast in season 5, actor Jackson Brundage portrayed the role of Jamie Scott, but what happened after the show's end in 2012? Jamie Scott was the first child of Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Lenz) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), whom the couple had in their senior year of high school. Jamie's first appearance was at the end of season 4, with Brundage taking on the role in season 5 in 2008 after a four-year time jump on the show.

The African American Film Critics Association (Aafca) is set to honor Carolyn Sloss, vice president of Allied Integrated Marketing, as part of its 8th Annual Synergy Atl Program.

“For more than a decade Carolyn has led the growth trajectory of the film and entertainment community in Atlanta,” Aafca President Gil Robertson said in a statement. “Her commitment to the Arts & Entertainment scene has been impactful to the permanent infrastructure that we see today throughout this region.”

On August 1, the group will recognize Sloss during a gathering at the Auburn Avenue Research Library in Atlanta.

“I am thrilled and proud to be named as the 2019 honoree by Aafca and its Synergy Atl Program,” said Sloss. “In my role at Allied, I’ve strived to forge a path that’s wider and more inclusive in the community. To be recognized for achieving this, even in a small way, is truly a great honor!

Chicago – “Cars 2” is an unequal Pixar blend for adults and kiddies that never evolves into the storytelling success of its predecessor. The film, which draws thematic elements from “The Bourne Identity,” “Beverly Hillbillies” and “Transformers,” is a Honda needing a body shop as compared to the pristine Ferrari that was “Cars”.

Here is the final theatrical trailer for Cars 2, directed by John Lasseter and Brad Lewis. This trailer does little to increase my interest in this film, and really has nothing new to show. The trailer does not show much new footage, aside from a closer look at the various global locales.

With Cars 2 we finally have the first Pixar film that I’ll have no trouble skipping this summer. Directed by John Lasseter and Ratatouille producer Brad Lewis, this aims to be going straight from the lucrative child demographic and little else, unlike their other animated masterpieces. After a few trailers, we have the final theatrical one and it doesn’t seem to be showing us anything different. We do get a greater glimpse at the global locales, which certainly seem to be captured nicely, but I just can’t connect with the humor. He first caught his home country’s attention by participating in the infamous Running of the Bulldozers. His flair, style and speed as a toreador in the dozer ring has inspired a generation of young bulldozer fighters, and soon that same speed and verve turned headlights of fans and competitors alike on the Grand Touring Sport racing circuit. Bearing the #5 and the fiery colors of the Spanish flag, Miguel Camino is hoping to race his way into more hearts at the World Grand Prix.

At WonderCon over this weekend, Walt Disney Studios had a car featuring the Twitter handle @ChromeLeaks parked outside the Moscone Center that sent fans to the URL cars-n-deals.com. The spot is a faux advertisement for .Cars N. Deals of Emeryville. directed by Chris Cantwell (the same guy who directed the Lots-o-Huggin. Bear faux ad last year for Toy Story 3).

The spot features subtle hints about the upcoming Cars 2 and even has a working phone number. Also, hidden within the ad (the 57-second mark) is a URL for an exclusive clip of Cars 2 as seen below.
