“The Masked Talent,” a new format from Korea’s Mbc, creators of global hit “The Masked Singer,” is currently in production.
Unlike the celebrity-driven “The Masked Singer” and spin-off “The Masked Dancer,” where the focus is on who is behind the mask, “The Masked Talent” is a non-celebrity masked audition format concentrating on singing skills and talents. Two episodes, to be broadcast on the Mbc channel during the Chuseok Korean Thanksgiving holidays, invites the audience to participate.
“The purpose of the show is to present the audience with the unique experience to become the masked hero and perform their showmanship,” said Park Jeong-Kyu, chief producer of “The Masked Singer” and “The Masked Talent.” “With prejudice and bias out of the way, the contestants will be judged solely by their genuine voice and talent.”

Byron Studios has appointed former Network 10 chief Paul Anderson as its CEO, with the executive to work with co-founders Will Gammon and Mark Holden to steer its development.
Currently Byron Studios currently offers four facilities across the Northern Rivers, while also developing with Ballina Shire Council plans for a new and ambitious ‘state-of-the- complex and media precinct.
Anderson relocated to the Northern Rivers earlier this year, having stood down from his dual roles as 10 CEO and EVP ViacomCBS Network International Australia and New Zealand last March after 17 years.
While Byron Bay and surrounds have always been home to creatives from across the arts, Anderson sees the planned studio complex as filling an infrastructure gap that will give sustainability to the region’s screen and media industry, as well as providing a multiplier effect on the economy.

Is there a hit from the past decade more widely imitated than “Homeland”? Perhaps that’s because the spy serial’s action-packed appeal seems easily replicable, even without a character as indelible as Carrie Mathison. Building relatable characters is hard, but ratcheting up tension is easy. Right?
Epix’s new series “Deep State” creates tense situations that don’t quite hit home — because, artfully directed and grimace-inducingly violent as those situations may be, they’re happening to people from whom we feel a strange remove. On “Deep State,” Mark Strong’s Max Easton is called back into the field as an MI6 agent to course-correct a failing mission in the Middle East. In so doing, he’s called away from his bucolic family life in France — including a wife who knows less than she might and who takes it upon herself to learn what her husband’s been up to.

Koch Industries has written a lengthy response to our feature story on the company in the latest issue of Rolling Stone. In tweets the company apparently paid to promote, Koch bills this write-up as a "point-by-point response to Rolling Stone writer Tim Dickinson's dishonest and misleading story." The salient feature of Koch's response is that the company does not argue the core facts of our 9,000-word expose. Instead, Koch targets the messenger. Koch's top target here is not even Rolling Stone, but me, Tim Dickinson.

The latest comic horror venture from 'Freak Out' creators Christian James ('Kill Keith') and Dan Palmer ('Evil Aliens') is new British zombie flick 'Stalled'. The project will be hitting the Us courtesy of Uncork'd Entertainment and Odin's Eye this coming October where it'll be receiving a limited theatrical run. Which will in turn follow up with a home release during November. Exact dates are still to be nailed down but in the meantime the movie has managed to piggy-back onto another zombie movie that is enjoying success at the box office currently. The new teaser poster manages to parody and take a literal massive sh#t on the artwork of 'World War Z'. Antonia Bernath ('St Trinians', 'Lykke'), Dan Palmer, Tamaryn Payne ('Hollyoaks'), Mark Holden, Giles Alderson ('The Harsh Light of Day'), Victoria Broom, Mark Kelly and Victoria Eldon all star.

One man. One toilet. And lots of zombies! Lol! Get ready for a completely weird horror movie titled Stalled, which comes from director Christian James and is currently in post production. Yeah, no official release date at this moment, but at least we have a completely fresh (well, if fresh is the right word for a story set in one toilet) teaser trailer for the whole thing. Make sure you check this out, and let us know what you think!
So, Christian James directed the movie from Dan Palmer‘s script which centers on a luckless maintenance gopher who finds himself stuck in a ladies restroom during the zombie apocalypse.
Dan Palmer also stars as the lead, character named W.C (yeah, that’s funny name, too) while the rest of the cast also includes Antonia Bernath, Tamaryn Payne, Mark Holden, Giles Alderson and Chris R. Wright.

We got our first look at the latest entry into the UK horror comedy genre yesterday, with the first poster for Stalled, and now we’ve had three great behind the scenes images from the production sent our way, giving us a look at some of the blood and festivities we have to look forward to.

Currently in post-productions, Stalled is the latest entry into the UK horror comedy genre that British filmmakers often seem to have a handle on better than most. (Naturally, I point you towards Shaun of the Dead as a good starting point if you’re new to the genre.)
We’ve had the first poster for the film sent over, giving us a tease of its intriguing premise:

Back in 2004 a new British comedy horror flick arrived out of nowhere and landed our desks. The parody-esque slasher feature was called 'Freak Out' and was a great little low-budget production which kept our team chuckling away. Now 8 years on Brit duo Christian James and Dan Palmer are back with their new comedy horror effort 'Stalled'. It's Christmas time zombies, with guaranteed toilet humour all the way and we have caught an early glimpse at the new bloody one-sheet from the project. James helms from a script penned by Dan Palmer who also stars as the suitably named maintenance man W.C. Antonia Bernath ('Lykke'), Tamaryn Payne ('Hollyoaks'), Mark Holden, Giles Alderson, Victoria Broom, Mark Kelly and Victoria Eldon all co-star. Check out the plot into and fresh new one-sheet below....
