The Four Horsemen are saddling up again. After years of speculation, delays, and the occasional vanishing act, Now You See Me 3 is finally happening. This, for years, felt like one of the franchise’s own tricks – hinted at, rumored, and then disappearing into thin air. Originally announced in 2016, the project seemed to be stuck in development limbo for the better part of a decade.

Lionsgate, however, has officially confirmed that the new Nysm film is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025. If you’re wondering why Now You See Me 3 took so long, the production process wasn’t exactly smooth sailing.
Why did Now You See Me 3 take so long?
Delays due to scheduling conflicts, script rewrites, and even the pandemic pushed the film back multiple times. But finally, in November 2024, filming wrapped, and the movie is currently in post-production.

Study: Hollywood’s Male Role Models Are Failing Young Men. Where Does That Go in the Trump Era?
Late last year, entertainment industry tracker Nrg (National Resource Group) released a study concluding that 43% of young men aged 13-30 don’t know what it means to be a man in today’s society. “Like Ken in the ‘Barbie’ movie, men are struggling to figure out their own place,” the study says, referring to the hit movie’s multicultural troupe of “just Kens” who are baffled by the increasing power of women.
The report also suggests Hollywood may be remiss in not filling the void. “A sizable number (47%) of those surveyed are looking to fictional characters, public figures, and celebrities for masculine role models over real people in their lives — signaling how important it is that Hollywood and celebrities present a multi-faceted view of what it means to be a man,” the authors state.
For Hollywood, the report sounds both like a call to action and a potential opportunity, as...

Amazon MGM is getting into the race car business thanks to news that a new drama series centered around the world of Formula 1 is being developed for Prime Video. The best part? Felicity Jones is set to lead the cast of what's being titled One, which is the first-ever sanctioned scripted series by the Fia.
Per Variety, Jones is set to both lead and executive produce One, which is said to "focus on a failing family-owned racing team, led by Jones’ character, as it contends with fierce personalities, ever-changing rivals and multi-million-dollar stakes." It should be made clear that, as of right now, the F1 drama is currently in the developmental stage, and an official series order has yet to be made by Amazon, meaning that there is still a slight chance that things could fall apart. Jones will produce through her Piecrust Pictures label, while Mark Fergus and...

The next few years could be a wild time at the movies. The Black List is an online platform where upcoming screenwriters share their work and, every year, the list compiles the most popular unproduced screenplays and unveils them to the world (in the interest of attracting potential producers). 2024 has already been a big year, what with Gladiator II and Wicked going head-to-head, Mubi's insanely successful The Substance, Deadpool & Wolverine swearing their way through a feature-length runtime, and the return of the cinematic Goat in Paddington in Peru. But that's nothing compared to what's on The Black List's most popular scripts of 2024.
Once an IP enters the public domain, horror fanatics are almost guaranteed to turn it into a horror movie. But some horror junkie's have transformed the life of a former U.S. President into a crazy slasher film. Camp David (written by Megan Amram and Joseph Carnegie...

CAA and Untitled Entertainment had the most scripts in the 20th edition of The Black List, the annual compilation of Hollywood’s best-liked unproduced screenplays.
CAA scored 15 executive mentions, leading on the agency side for the fourth year in a row, with Untitled landing nine. If there is one film that holiday movie buffs need to watch in 2024, it's The Holdovers, which is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Following Thanksgiving Day (or Halloween for some), it's officially Christmastime, meaning that streaming services began adding festive flicks to their catalog, and some (like Netflix) even release original holiday films. As for one company in particular, The Holdovers is one of the various Christmas movies featured in Amazon Prime Video's library in 2024.
Aside from The Holdovers, some other holiday movies available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 are Love Actually, The Holiday, Scrooged, The Family Stone, and It's a Wonderful Life.
The Holdovers premiered in August 2023 at the 50th Telluride Film Festival in Colorado before having a limited theatrical release, beginning on October 27, 2023. It grossed a little over $45 million against a $13 million budget during its theatrical run. The Holdovers also received positive reviews...

Christmas is a wonderful time of year when families and friends get together to watch their favorite holiday movies. Some classics that instantly come to mind include Home Alone, Elf, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Viewers have also been treated to brilliant holiday films made in the past few years, with Netflix's animated feature Klaus being the most prominent. While everyone mostly sticks to their holiday traditions, some inventive Christmas movies get lost in the shuffle.
Compared to the classics numerous families watch every December, these movies feel underappreciated. A large part of that reasoning is because of how unconventional they are. From colorful musicals like Spirited and Jingle Jangle to horror films like Krampus and Anna and the Apocalypse, these underrated Christmas movies deserve more love.
Updated on November 21, 2024, by Arthur Goyaz: Many great Christmas movies go against the standard family flick people love to watch every holiday season.

In a world where authenticity is the name of the game, the lines between reality and storytelling can become beautifully intertwined. Alexander Payne’s 2023 film, The Holdovers, taps into this notion, inviting audiences to reflect on the bonds that shape us. As the saying goes, “Art imitates life”, but sometimes it’s the life experiences woven into fiction that leaves the most lasting impact.

Four top films this weekend are indies – five including The Substance at no. 11, as the specialty market roars back to life. No. 3 at the domestic box office is a great story, Conclave from Focus Features, the studio behind the Downtown Abbey films. excels at drawing still elusive but key older demos to theaters and broadening out from there as it did most recently with Oscar-winning The Holdovers.
The Vatican thriller by Edward Berger (whose All Quiet On The Western Front took the Best International Feature Oscar in 2023) and starring Ralph Fiennes, Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini opened to a sweet $6.5 million at about 1,750 theaters. The kicker is that some 77% of the audience is over 35 with the biggest chunk (44%) being 55+, a rare feat.
The title refers to the ancient tradition that sees Cardinals from across the globe gather sequestered behind Vatican walls to elect a new Pope when the previous Eminence expires.

The upcoming indie feature “Tow,” starring Rose Byrne and directed by Stephanie Laing, is being scored by Este Haim of the band Haim and composer Nathan Barr, Laing’s representatives tell TheWrap.
The film, which Laing both directed and produced, stars Rose Byrne in a telling of the true story of unhoused woman Amanda Ogle. The Seattle resident had to fight to put her life back together in a story centered around her battle with a tow company, sparked when she received a tow bill for $21,634.
Beyond her work with sisters Alana and Danielle in Haim, Este has also composed for both film and television. She’s also been Grammy-nominated while Barr is an Emmy Award winner, taking a trophy home for his theme for Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series “Hollywood.”
“Going into the studio with Nathan was like going to Disneyland every day,” Este Haim said in a statement.

Blu-ray.com has just announced a number of new 4K Blu-ray releases for this December. One of the releases includes the new 4K transfer of last year’s awards darling — The Holdovers. In a rather unusual process, while Universal’s home entertainment department would oversee the original Blu-ray release and distribution of the film (as is the standard procedure for recent releases), the studio would not do their Ultra High Definition remastering of the film in-house. Instead, Universal outsourced the job to Shout! Factory, which is more of a specialty label for certain kinds of releases of older films and television shows.
The Alexander Payne-directed comedic drama stars Paul Giamatti in one of his most outstanding roles, with Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Dominic Sessa in his feature film debut. The 4K Uhd release will hit retailers on December 17.

Alexander Payne isn’t holding a grudge against “The Holdovers” script allegations, but the writer/director is admitting just how “stupid” he thought the perceived scandal was.
On the eve of the 2024 Oscars, Disney’s “Luca” co-screenwriter Simon Stephenson publicly accused Payne and “The Holdovers” screenwriter David Hemingson of plagiarizing the script from his 2013 Black List screenplay “Frisco.”
Now, Payne told Deadline while at the Sarajevo Film Festival what he really thought of the media coverage at the time.
“It was the stupidest thing in the world,” Payne said when asked about the Variety report. “It was irresponsible of Variety to report on that without having read the scripts and comparing them themselves. Do you think The New York Times would have done that?”
At the time, Variety cited emails that suggested Payne did read Stephenson’s script or was at least aware of it when he decided to pass...

Having broken out big thanks to The Holdovers, Dominic Sessa has not been short of acting gigs. He's part of the cast for another festive period-set comedy drama called Oh. What. Fun., based-on-truth tale Tow and new sequel Now You See Me 3. And via a new biopic called Tony, he's aboard to play one of the most influential figures in the culinary world: Anthony Bourdain.
The legendary Chef, writer and broadcaster cut his teeth working in the competitive Manhattan restaurant industry in the 1980s and 1990s, working his way up to Executive Chef at exclusive eatery Brasserie Les Halles.
Yet it was his writing on the ugly behind-the-scenes secrets of culinary locales that put him on the map, and their publication in The New Yorker, he became a massive star on the food scene with his no-bs attitude to the industry.

If you’ve ever had the opportunity to listen to the late Anthony Bourdain talk about food, and more specifically, the way his life was connected to food (ever since his first oyster as a young boy) there’s something undeniably cinematic about it. From the tough kitchens he worked in when he started out to the immense pressure he faced as he rose to the very top.
It’s a fascinating setup that we’ve seen used across media, from reality TV shows like Hell’s Kitchen or an endless assortment of Netflix shows to dramas like The Bear... but it’s something that cinema has sometimes struggled with.
