A Location Manager based in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Calgary, Alberta. 25+ year member of the Directors Guild of Canada. Award-nominated member of the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI).
The first 6 years of Mike's film career was dedicated to working his way up the Assistant Director department. Then, Mike Created and Produced/Directed 63 episodes of the adventure sport lifestyle series "Drop In" which Mike and his cast & crew took to every corner of B.C., New Zealand and the U.S. Building on the international success of the series, Mike co-founded one of the original online video streaming platforms (RipTV, 2006) and, as COO/Director of Content, managed a team which produced hundreds of hours of original series content, acquired a library of films & shows and licensed music from independent artists and labels.
Mike specializes in Film Location Solutions in and around Calgary close to where he was raised, in the busiest region for film in Alberta. He draws on his personal life interests of year-round outdoor / mountain pursuits and his previous industry and entrepreneurial experience to manage a stellar team, scout unique film locations in Alberta, overcome production logistics challenges & accomplish the goals set by the Production team.
