Is Sydney Sweeney single?
Rumors of a breakup with Jonathan Davino have been circulating for weeks, but it might be a while before we know for sure if Hollywood’s hottest actress is back on the market.
Thankfully, Sydney is performing a valuable public service and keeping her fans entertained in the meantime with bikini thirst traps so flawless they should probably be hung in the Louvre.

As it turns out, Zendaya would never let go of playing Ronnie Spector. Five years after it was announced that the Emmy Award-winning Euphoria star would embody the Ronettes lead singer in a feature film, Deadline reported on Wednesday that the A24 project had secured a new director in Oscar winner Barry Jenkins. Dave Kajganich, a frequent Luca Guadagnino collaborator, is now writing the screenplay after Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie Sibblies Drury was initially mentioned as a possible screenwriter in 2020 when the project was first announced.
Deadline offered no timeline for the Spector film, but it’s safe to assume it’ll be a while. Jenkins was recently attached to direct a science-fiction movie for Universal with Glen Powell in a lead role. At the same time, Zendaya is seemingly constantly busy and now filming Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. However, whenever the project comes to fruition and lands an actual release date,...

Daisy Edgar-Jones is singing Paul Mescal’s praises once more.
The “Where the Crawdads Sing” and “On Swift Horses” actress told Elle that working with Mescal is “like playing tennis with your best friend.” The duo co-starred in “Normal People” together, which now marks its five-year anniversary.
“I have worked with basically all of the internet’s boyfriends,” Edgar-Jones said, citing Mescal, her “Twisters” co-star Glen Powell, and “Fresh” actor Sebastian Stan. “And I’m lucky that every actor I’ve worked with has been incredibly supportive of me being the lead. Zendaya will play iconic Ronettes co-founder Ronnie Spector in a biopic for director Barry Jenkins called “Be My Baby,” TheWrap has learned. A24 is behind the project, which has tapped “Bones and All” and “Suspiria” writer David Kajganich to write the original screenplay.
A24, Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Mark Itkin, Tom Shelly, and Zendaya will produce, with Jonathan Greenfield as executive producer. Before her passing, Spector was an executive producer on the film and hand-selected Zendaya to play her. Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak, Barry’s partners at Pastel, will also be joining as producers.
Spector co-founded The Ronettes in the late 1950s and the girl group went on to smashing success with songs like “Be My Baby” and “(The Best Part of) Breakin’ Up.” She married music producer Phil Spector in 1968 and alleged a relationship racked with “psychological torment” in her 1990 memoir. They divorced in 1974.

Exclusive: A24 is adding to its partnership with megastar Zendaya and her film on the life of singer Ronnie Spector, with Barry Jenkins coming on board to direct Be My Baby and Dave Kajganich tapped to write an original screenplay. Zendaya will play the legendary songstress and according to sources, the star and Jenkins, who’d been looking to work together for some time, agreed on a version of Spector’s story that could immerse audiences in what the singer’s life with the troubled producer Phil Spector felt like rather than a traditional cradle to the grave biopic.
We are hearing the deals for Spector’s life rights and for Be My Baby, the memoir she wrote with Vince Waldron, remain intact. The film is in development with Luca Guadagnino writer Kajganich who is hard at work on the expressive interpretation of Spector’s life that Zendaya and Jenkins are after.

With 65 novels, over 200 short stories, and over 400 million copies sold, Stephen King is one of the most prolific authors in modern literature. King has dabbled in numerous genres, including thriller, science fiction, fantasy, and most notably, horror. Some of his best books have been brought to the screen, and his responses have ranged from endorsing them to being deeply critical of them, most notably with Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of "The Shining." Many filmmakers have had the opportunity to bring King's stories to the big screen, the most recent filmmaker being Oz Perkins, director of "The Monkey," which is based on the short story of the same name originally published in a November 1980 issue of the adult magazine "Gallery" and featured in King's "Skeleton Crew" short story collection, published in 1985.

Well, that was fast. A few days ago, Deadline reported a rumor that Strange Darling director Jt Mollner was potentially circling a new entry in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise alongside producer Roy Lee.
But on Saturday, Mollner took to X (formerly Twitter) to suggest that the rumor isn't true, saying, "Don't believe everything you read."
The initial Deadline report also suggested that Top Gun: Maverick star Glen Powell might be interested in reading a script for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which would be great casting.
Starting in 1974 with Tobe Hooper's classic, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise has spanned nine movies, novels, video games, and plenty of merchandise. But it has been a long time since we've gotten a solid entry into the canon. The last movie released in 2022 was the Netflix Original, meant to reboot the film series. Hot on the heels of the news that a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie might be in the works with Glen Powell interested in starring, the director whose name was thrown about to lead the project has broken his silence about those rumors. James Gunn’s new Superman movie just got a glowingly hopeful tease from one of its stars now less than four months out from release. It’s not uncommon for major comic book tentpoles to feature star-studded ensembles, but Gunn and Superman casting director John Papsidera have put together a group for the debut Dcu film to rival anything ever seen on the big screen. One of the names set to join the Dcu later this year is Anthony Carrigan, famed for his role as NoHo Hank in Barry. Carrigan has been tapped to play Metamorpho, the immortal shapeshifter who has been around in DC comics for more than 50 years, and during a recent interview with ComicBookMovie.com, Carrigan promised a movie that inspires hope and is uplifting for the audience:
"I mean, honestly, the only thing I can say is just what a joy it was to work on a project like that.

Filmmaker Jt Mollner has said that his father got him into “all things frightening” at a young age – and in fact, he and his dad have a seasonal business called the Freakling Bros. Horror Shows. Last year, Mollner brought us a great horror thriller called Strange Darling, which had Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibes to it at some times. So, when it was revealed last Friday that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre rights are up for grabs and Mollner was one of the parties interested in getting in on the Chainsaw action, it didn’t come as much of a surprise. Now we’re hearing that, while it may not have been a surprise, it also might not be true.

There might be a whole new meaning to Glen Powell's Twisters character Tyler Owens's catchphrase, "If you feel it, chase it," as the actor is reportedly interested in leading The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise in a new reboot. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the franchise nobody saw coming; starting out as a low-budget horror film from director Tobe Hopper that didn't even get an official Hollywood premiere until 2024. One film launched one of the most beloved horror series ever with an icon in the form of the villain Leatherface. The 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre was followed by three sequels: a reboot, a prequel to that reboot, a retcon sequel to the original film, a prequel to the original film, and a legacy sequel. Now, a new film version appears to be in the works.

Strange Darling filmmaker Jt Mollner took to Twitter to address the recent news that he’s in talks to revive the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
His comment?: “Don’t believe everything you read.”
Whether he’s really not involved or merely being cagey remains to be seen, but sources still indicate that we haven’t seen the last of Leatherface.
In addition to Mollner, Deadline reported that producer Roy Lee was at the forefront of the conversation surrounding the reboot, with Glen Powell interested in starring and producing.
Lionsgate and A24 are among the studios said to be knocking at the door of Verve, the agency has repped the series’ rights since 2017.
Launching by Tobe Hooper‘s genre-defining classic in 1974, the Texas Chainsaw franchise consists of nine films across various timelines, the most recent being Netflix’s 2022 legacy sequel, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

A new Texas Chainsaw film is being discussed in Hollywood and Strange Darling director Jt Mollner is one of the interested parties.
Horror is a safe bet in Hollywood these days, especially if your movie belongs to an established franchise, so it’s not exactly surprising that Deadline reports that a new Texas Chainsaw movie is now being planned behind closed doors in Hollywood. Verve, the agency that has repped the Texas Chainsaw rights since 2017, is reportedly looking to revive the franchise.
“Verve represents The Texas Chainsaw Massacre estate and is building out a multimedia strategy for the seminal horror franchise,” a spokesperson told Deadline about the plans.
“Verve has not officially submitted the property into any filmmakers, producers or buyers,” the rep added. “Because this is such a hot and iconic horror property, packages are pre-emptively being brought to Verve.”

Spoiler Alert: Spoilers follow for TwistersTwo years ago, if you’d told us that a sequel to 1996’s Twister would be one of the best summer tentpoles of the 2020s, we’d have laughed in your face. Yet Twisters proved one of the most pleasant surprises in recent memory, improving on its predecessor in almost every way while effortlessly combining thrilling action set pieces with a top-notch cast. It felt like an old-school blockbuster in the best way — refusing to let the special effects overshadow the characters but still thrilling when push came to shove.
In fact, the cast was maybe the film’s greatest asset. Daisy Edgar-Jones (of Normal People fame) proved a hugely likable lead, showcasing her character’s intelligence and no-nonsense attitude while giving an emotional core to the story. The chainsaw may have gathered dust, but Leatherface is far from done. Verve, the agency representing the rights to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise since 2017, is reportedly at the centre of a bidding frenzy as Hollywood circles one of horror’s most enduring properties.
Now over 50 years since Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel unleashed their low-budget terror classic onto unsuspecting audiences, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is once again primed for a return to the screen. This time, however, it’s not just another sequel on the cards, but a potential franchise overhaul—and all eyes are on the players vying to take the reins.
One such contender is Strange Darling director Jt Mollner, fresh off the success of his critically acclaimed cat-and-mouse thriller, which has quietly grossed $3 million and earned a rare 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. Mollner is reportedly interested in tackling a new Chainsaw instalment, with buzz growing around a potential collaboration with Glen Powell,...

Leatherface may soon be revving the chainsaw back up. Word is that different parties are pursuing a potential reboot of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and one possibility would see Glen Powell in a lead role.
Per Deadline, a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie is in the planning stages at Verve, the company holding the rights to the IP since 2017. There are different pitches reportedly in consideration, including one package that could bring together Powell with filmmaker Jt Mollner and producer Roy Lee. Mollner and Lee recently worked on the horror hit Strange Darling, which holds a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes after its release last year. According to the report, Powell is interested in reading the script if Mollner can get one written, potentially putting him into position as the film's star.
Nothing is set in stone just yet, so there are no guarantees Powell will next be facing off with Leatherface.

Another longstanding intellectual property’s rights have hit the market, drawing up major interest from producers and studios.
The day after it was revealed that WME was shopping the rights to Jason Bourne and titles from the Robert Ludlum estate comes word that the rights to venerated horror franchise The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are also available.
And while there is significant amount of interest from several parties, it’s quite in early in the process to determine who is involved and where it will land. But the participation of some bold-faced names — Texas’ favorite golden boy Glen Powell, anyone? — has some talking about a “free for all.”
Legendary Pictures had held the rights to the property since 2017 and made a movie in 2022 that streamed on Netflix. A sequel never materialized, despite hopes. The IP returned to the rights holders – Exurbia Films, which is run by Pat Cassidy, the original movie’s co-screenwriter Kim Henkel,...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise could be getting yet another reboot. Deadline reports that Verve, who currently represents the rights, have studios and filmmakers eager to pitch a new take on the iconic horror franchise.
“Verve represents The Texas Chainsaw Massacre estate and is building out a multimedia strategy for the seminal horror franchise,” said a Verve representative in a statement to Deadline. “Verve has not officially submitted the property into any filmmakers, producers, or buyers. Because this is such a hot and iconic horror property, packages are preemptively being brought to Verve.“
According to Deadline’s report, writer/director Jt Mollner (Strange Darling) and producer Roy Lee (It) are among the interested parties. One intriguing tidbit is that once Mollner puts his script together, Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) is reportedly keen to read it, with an eye towards starring in and producing the project. Lionsgate, A24, and Neon are also in the mix.

In the new B-movie "Locked," Bill Skarsgård plays a down-on-his-luck guy named Eddie who breaks into a luxury SUV in an attempt to make some money to support his family. Unfortunately for Eddie, the owner of that SUV is a deranged maniac named William (Anthony Hopkins), who remotely locks Eddie inside and tortures him over the course of multiple days in an attempt to try to teach him a lesson about right and wrong. A huge percentage of the film takes place inside this vehicle as we're trapped there with Eddie, and in the wrong hands, exploring such a small space over the course of an entire movie could get very boring, very quickly.

Bruce Willis, known for his legendary performance as John McClane in the Die Hard franchise, celebrated his 70th birthday on March 19. Samuel L. Jackson, who co-starred with him in 1994’s Pulp Fiction, 1995’s Die Hard with a Vengeance, 1999’s Unbreakable, and 2019’s Glass, recently recalled some words of wisdom he received from the Sixth Sense star.
"He told me, 'Hopefully you’ll be able to find a character that, when you make bad movies, and they don't make any money, you can always go back to this character everybody loves," Jackson told Vanity Fair. He added that Willis used two popular action stars to prove his point. "He said, '[Arnold Schwarzenegger]'s got Terminator, [Sylvester Stallone's] got Rocky [and] Rambo. I've got John McClane."
Jackson continued to elaborate on the advice from Willis, while referring to his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as the former director of S.H.I.

After earning over $370 million at the worldwide box office last year, Twisters is making the rounds on a new streaming service. Glen Powell’s legacy sequel had been streaming exclusively on Peacock since it left theaters and made its digital debut last year, but the film recently departed the platform and began streaming on Prime Video, where it has made a swift run to the #1 spot. The film earned rave scores from both critics and audiences, leading to it boasting scores of 75% from critics and 90% from audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes. In addition to Glen Powell, Twisters also stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate, Anthony Ramos as Javi, and David Corenswet as Scott. Corenswet will star in Superman later this year.

After swirling through the box office and making an impact, Twisters spins its way onto a new streaming service. The long-awaited sequel to the award-winning original, Twister, debuts on Amazon Prime Video and finds instant success on the popular streamer.
Twisters debuted via Prime Video on Mar. 18, nearly eight months after its theatrical debut, and is already the top-ranked movie on the platform. The disaster film sequel's Prime Video success adds to its streaming prowess on Peacock, where it debuted last November and outperformed the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer with its early returns.
Coming nearly three decades after the Oscar-nominated Twister, Twisters is a standalone sequel to the original, not carrying over characters or storylines from the first film, though it maintains the movie's spirit. Darren Aronofsky is circling to direct Netflix’s Cujo film, based on the novel by Stephen King.
Deadline first reported the news of the film adaptation , with Roy Lee attached to produce in the deal made last week.
The 1981 novel was originally adapted into a thriller film in 1983 starring Dee Wallace as a mother protecting her sone from a 200-pound St. Bernard that turned rabid after being bit by a bat. The formerly friendly hound transformed into one of cold calculation that left a trail of bodies in its wake.
The climactic scene in that film took place when Wallace’s mother and her son face the difficult decision of battling heatstroke in a car that won’t start or confronting the big, rabid dog waiting for them outside the small vehicle.
Aronofsky’s more recent projects include Postcard from Earth (2023) and The Whale (2022) starring Brendan Fraser...

There's no one in our modern film landscape like Sydney Sweeney. In a culture where looks tend to dominate your level of success, Sweeney has devoured stereotypes -- because let's face it, she's stunning -- and ultimately has made a name for herself with the quality of her work both on and offscreen. From dramas to rom-coms,...
