Yellowjackets‘ Sophie Thatcher is in negotiations to star opposite Mark Eydelshteyn in Season 2 of Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, sources tell Deadline.
If her deal closes, the duo would be playing the eponymous Mr. & Mrs. Smith. As Deadline has reported, Billie Eilish had been approached for the female lead but that didn’t materialize as the Oscar-winning musician is touring.
Amazon MGM Studios, which co-produces the series with New Regency, had been seeking an actor and actress in their 20s to play John and Jane, respectively, in Season 2 with one-year deals.
Created by Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane, Season 1 of Mr. and Mrs. Smith followed two lonely strangers who have to pose as a married couple as they both begin new careers as spies, taking on new aliases, Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith. Now hitched, John and Jane navigate a high-risk mission every week...

Walden Media has named Juliana Janes as executive vice president of development and production.
At the studio behind Apple’s Lincoln assassination series “Manhunt” and the upcoming Russell Crowe drama “Nuremberg,” Janes will elevate the content slate working closely with writers, directors and producers. She’ll report to Walden production president Benjamin Tappan.
Janes comes from Bron, the edgy label where she served as EVP across both film and television. There, she developed projects including “Kin” and “Ten Percent” and the upcoming “Americana,” a feature starring Sydney Sweeney and Paul Walter Hauser.
“Juliana’s passion for storytelling and enviable record of success in film and television makes her a perfect fit for Walden’s mission of delivering narratives that inspire and resonate with audiences,” said Tappan. “Her commitment to fostering creativity aligns seamlessly with our mission to bring forth stories that challenge and uplift viewers.”

Sex and the City was a banner show for HBO at the turn of the century, and its best spiritual successor wasn't And Just Like That...Women loved how the Sex and the City cast balanced friendship, love, and work. The show is so beloved that HBO produced a reboot series, And Just Like That Three of the four main cast return for And Just Like That.., which includes a few new characters as well. While And Just Like That is popular enough to get an upcoming third season, critics and audiences agree it is an unnecessary and inferior show compared to Sex and the City.
However, another show quietly is a much better Sex and the City replacement, The Bold Type. The five-season dramedy followed the lives of three best friends working at a fashion magazine as they navigated love and life. The Bold Type characters embrace the messiness of dating and working,...

Horror movie villains come in all forms, but there's something to be said about some of the genre's best female antagonists. Historically, horror films often relegated women to stereotypical roles as damsels in distress or disposable victims devoid of autonomy and rationality. While suspense movies occasionally featured female villains, it's only recently that horror has begun to present women as antagonists on equal footing with their male counterparts. The most chilling female antagonists defy stereotypes and challenge traditional perceptions of women, girlhood, and femininity by weaponizing them to unsettle viewers through blood-soaked rampages.
These characters exploit outdated assumptions about women being underestimated or dismissed as threats, cleverly using these perceptions to catch both their victims and audiences off-guard. With ruthless precision, they orchestrate events and execute their twisted visions without hesitation, whether through violent slayings or masterful manipulation. In doing so, they command respect and evoke fear typically reserved for male characters.

Tarzan (1999) was one of the last movies that could be considered part of Disney's powerhouse Renaissance Era of animated films. It featured award-winning songs by Phil Collins with a score by Mark Mancina. The movie was a retelling of the story Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs, published in 1912. Frozen director Chris Buck made his directorial debut, and the movie presented a new take on Tarzan as a jungle-surfing vine swinger with a father-son conflict at its center. Rosie O'Donnell starred in the voice cast along with Tony Goldwyn, Glenn Close, Brian Blessed, Wayne Knight, and Minnie Driver.
Driver starred as Disney's latest heroine and almost-princess, Jane Porter. Although not of royal blood in the Tarzan story, Disney did once consider adding Jane to its merchandising line of princesses. Not every "princess" is actual royalty -- for example, Mulan is a warrior more than she is a princess.

The 2005 film adaptation of this classic Jane Austen novel has brought Pride and Prejudice movie quotes to a whole new demographic of audiences. Starring Keira Knightley, Rosamund Pike, Donald Sutherland, Matthew Macfadyen, and many others, Pride and Prejudice was a remarkably wonderful adaptation. This period drama wasn't as stilted and dreary as many period dramas. This romantic drama connected with a new generation, and is still widely watched and admired by fans.

TV show finales were always a big event, but for some titles, the penultimate episode was actually better. Second-to-last episodes were typically to build anticipation for the shows ending, but many hit their peak before they reached the finale. Defying the odds at Sunday’s Creative Arts Emmys, Michaela Coel (“Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) ended up winning the Best Drama Guest Actress race for the Prime Video spy thriller. Many awards pundits thought that Claire Foy (“The Crown”) might prevail, especially considering she had already won this same guest actress category in 2021 as well as the lead actress race in 2018. For this 2024 contest, the two nominees faced off against Marcia Gay Harden (“The Morning Show”), Sarah Paulson (“Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) and Parker Posey (“Mr. and Mrs. Smith”).
Coel submitted the episode “Infidelity” in which she plays Bev, a secret spy who tries to infiltrate the marriage between John (Donald Glover) and Jane (Maya Erskine). This marks Coel’s second career Emmy victory after previously prevailing for writing her HBO limited series “I May Destroy You” (2021).

From watching Jane die to poisoning Brock, Walter White did some truly reprehensible things across the five seasons of Breaking Bad that made viewers fall out of love with him. When audiences were first introduced to Walt, he was a mild-mannered everyman: a husband, father, and high school chemistry teacher. He wasnt too far removed from Bryan Cranstons last major TV role Hal from Malcolm in the Middle except he was a much sadder version of that sitcom dad archetype. Naturally, audiences loved the character. But that all changed after he broke bad.

Beach vacations sound like nothing but fun in the sun unless one has seen Jeffery A. Browns directorial debut, The Beach House. What starts as an uncomfortable, accidental couples weekend in a nearly abandoned seaside town ends in a cosmic horror nightmare that would impress H.P. Lovecraft himself. Liana Liberato stars as Emily, a college senior giving her relationship with Randall (Noah Le Gros) one last chance. Their romantic getaway crashes the older couple, Mitch (Jake Weber) and Janes (Maryann Nagel), own stay at the same house. As the couples shakily occupy the space, an oceanic microorganism rapidly works through every living organism it comes in contact with.

My Lady Jane, which premiered on Prime Video in June 2024, has been canceled after only one eight-episode season. Despite the potential for expanding the titular characters narrative and developing her into a stronger version of herself, Prime Video has confirmed that the series will not continue. This decision comes as a surprise to fans who saw massive scope for further storytelling.
A historical fantasy drama, My Lady Jane is adapted from the novel of the same name written by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. Set in an alternate 16th-century England, it reimagines the tragic tale of Lady Jane Grey, who was Queen of England for nine days before her execution. Over the course of the season, we see Jane being coerced into marrying Lord Guildford Dudley, as well as navigating the perils of ascending to the throne and dealing with opposition and scheming nobles.

Spoilers are an odd beast for most Lifetime films. Few, if any, titles actually try to surprise audience with a killer reveal. More often than not there are twists, but the joy of watching these made-for-tv films is the journey to the big showdown.
It’s frustrating then, that Stepmom from Hell fully spoils its own ending with a completely on the nose title. As written by Hamish Briggs, Daniel Kautz, Nathanael Lirio and Elizabeth Snoderly, the embezzling-turned-murder mystery film definitely features a number of red herrings and twists en route to its climax, so the dead obvious title betrays the writers’ intentions.
As directed by Corbin Timbrook, the film follows Izzy Thompson (Lexi Giovagnoli), a hyper competent businesswoman struggling to launch a dog-related app in the shadow of her famous businessman. Jack Thompson (Lorenzo Lamas) has a thirty year legacy and he would much prefer that Izzy inherit his...

Warning: This article contains Major Spoilers for Amazon's My Lady Jane and the book on which it's based.
Several changes have been made to the source material or My Lady Jane the eponymous by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows. Here are some of the notable differences: Changes like Guildford's new traumatic background and the scene with the snake help build character arcs. My Lady Jane adds sex scenes that age up the story, making it more appealing to an adult audience.
Prime Videos My Lady Jane makes multiple changes from the book, improving character arcs and adapting the story for the screen. The historical fantasy series twists the true story of Lady Jane Grey, also known as the Nine Days Queen. Rather than making her a 15-year-old victim of the monarchy, My Lady Jane changes the main characters story, empowering her to take an active role in rewriting history.

My Lady Jane is a historical fiction series based on the book by Brodi Ashton, Cynthia Hand, and Jodi Meadows, with alternate history and creative liberties. The real Lady Jane Grey was a historical figure, educated and influenced by King Henry VIII's widow, Katherine Parr, but her story differs from the show's Ethian-shapeshifting elements. The series highlights the tragic life of Jane Grey, who faced execution, while also paying tribute to her historical significance and the era's religious tensions.
My Lady Jane is a historical fiction based on actual events in Tudor England. While My Lady Janes characters and royal structure are rooted in fact, the show itself takes many creative liberties. My Lady Jane describes itself as a radical retelling of English royal history, in which King Henry VIIIs son Edward does not die of tuberculosis, Lady Jane Grey is not beheaded, and neither is her rascal of a husband Guildford.

Jane Foster could return to the MCU without ruining her heroic ending in Thor: Love & Thunder. Natalie Portman is open to a potential return, sparking theories about how Jane can come back. Jane's return should avoid using the multiverse to maintain the impact of her character's journey.
Though Thor: Love & Thunder gave Jane Foster a worthy ending, there is still a way for her to return to the MCU without ruining her legacy. Actress Natalie Portman debuted as Jane Foster in Thor, then reprised her role in Thor: The Dark World. The character did not return for Thor: Ragnarok, which seemingly signified her conclusion in the MCU, so the confirmation of her role in Love & Thunder was all the more surprising. With Jane finally evolving into Mighty Thor, Love & Thunder was finally able to make the most of such a long-standing MCU character.

Last year, the nominees for both Best Drama Guest Actor and Best Drama Guest Actress were drawn from just two shows: “The Last of Us” and “Succession.” The former reaped a lucky seven nominations while the latter nabbed five. We don’t think any show will manage to snag that many nominations across these two drama guest acting categories this year but we do think one show will land more bids than any other: Amazon Prime Video’s “Mr. And Mrs. Smith.”
The spy-thriller series, created by Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane, is a reboot of the 2005 movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Glover stars in the lead role opposite “Pen15” actress and creator Maya Erskine. The two multi-hyphenates feature as a pair of spies (John and Jane) who must pretend to be a couple and complete missions together. The episodes each depict the stages of a relationship through the prism a spy thriller.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 2 might explore a different spy couple without Glover and Erskine, but possibilities remain endless. The show's potential prequel with Skarsgrd and Gonzalez could offer a fresh take on their characters' spy-filled past. A prequel focusing on Skarsgrd and Gonzalez's characters could create a more exciting narrative than a typical anthology format.
With Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 2 officially happening, the show's best future may not be an anthology format if Donald Glover and Maya Erskine don't return. Despite the fact that Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 1's ending featured a cliffhanger, the follow-up installment on Amazon Prime Video might need to focus on a different John and Jane Smith. Mr. & Mrs. Smith season 2 will be without Glover and Erskine, at least when it comes to the onscreen cast, and though that's disappointing, the show still has plenty of avenues to explore surrounding the core concept.

A team of Wolverines from across the multiverse are hunting Onslaught, and between missions, Jane Howlett reveals her origin. Jane's origin was much like the backstories of the other Wolverines, but with small details that make her story especially dark (perhaps even darker than she knows). Jane Howlett's personal lore as Wolverine continues to grow in Marvel Comics, something Wolverine fans should be excited about!
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Weapon X-Men #3! As it currently stands in Marvel Comics canon, its safe to say that Wolverine is having a pretty rough go of it, especially when considering how much trouble the multiverse is giving him lately. The prime Wolverine of Earth-616 is in the middle of a war with Sabretooth and his multiversal variants during the ongoing Sabretooth War. Meanwhile, five of Logans variants are skipping across realities searching for a rogue Onslaught, including a new version of Wolverine named Jane Howlett.

Aunt Jane's fate in Five Nights at Freddy's remains unclear, leaving fans to speculate if she survived the attack by Golden Freddy. While Aunt Jane is a hateable character, her return in the sequel would intensify the legal battle she poses to Mike and Abby. The Five Nights at Freddy's movie adaptation includes a relatable human storyline alongside the terrifying animatronic mascot conflict.
One of the most hateable characters in the Five Nights at Freddys movie was insinuated to have died a gruesome death, but she might live to torment the heroes again in the highly anticipated sequel. Much like the video game series it was based on, the movie adaptation of Five Nights at Freddys revolves around the night watchman at an old pizzeria as hes terrorized by animatronic mascots that have come to life with murderous intentions. But it also had a relatable human storyline running alongside the main conflict.

Krysten Ritter's role in Breaking Bad as Jane Margolis highlights themes of addiction, love, and tragedy. The emotional impact of Jane's death scene on the cast, especially Bryan Cranston, was intense and palpable. Cranston's preparation for the scene by seeing his own daughter's face underscores the depth of his performance.
Krysten Ritter's Breaking Bad role left a lasting impression on her, for better or worse. Breaking Bad, a show that redefined television storytelling, centers around Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher turned methamphetamine-manufacturing drug lord. With its intricate plotlines and deep character development, the series has etched its place in the annals of TV history. Throughout its five seasons, Breaking Bad masterfully explores themes of morality, consequence, and the human capacity for change, compelling viewers to question the dichotomy between right and wrong.

The ambiguous ending of Mr. & Mrs. Smith leaves viewers unsure of the fates of John and Jane Smith. The three gunshots heard suggest both characters may have fired, leaving their fate uncertain. The return of Glover's John and Erskine's Jane in a potential season 2 is highly anticipated by fans.

A connection between Friends and Home Alone has been officially confirmed.
Taking to Instagram, Scott Westwood shared a video highlighting the apparent discovery of the connection. Westwood used clips from Friends and Home Alone to suggest that the house Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox) purchase as a couple is actually the same house where Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) and his family lived in Home Alone. This can be seen by observing the houses across the street, which look the same in both the TV series and the film. In the comments, Art Director Daren Janes confirmed this to be the case and explained how this all came to be.

“I like the stock!”
In terms of revolutionary rallying cries, it’s no “Liberté, égalité, fraternité!” or “We will fight them on the beaches …” or “They will never take our freedom!” But by the time that Keith Gill, a.k.a. Roaring Kitty — Reddit and YouTube poster, red headband model, reluctant messiah — told a congressional committee that he’d inspired dozens of online traders to buy stock in GameStop partially because he felt it was undervalued, yet mostly because he liked it, something close to a movement had already taken place.

Seven directors come together to tell one woman’s story, an experimental tale of a woman driving around Los Angeles. Each vignette was directed in secret, with each director unaware of what would come before or after their film segment. The Seven Faces of Jane is therefore an ambitious undertaking, but it isn't worth taking on as an audience member.
Gillian Jacobs stars and directs in The Seven Faces of Jane. The story follows the titular Jane as she drops off her daughter at a sleep-away camp and then drives off into what is essentially a mini odyssey, where she experiences many obstacles and connections. Contributing to this creative endeavor, known as Exquisite Corpse, are directors Julian Acosta, Xan Cassavetes, Gia Coppola, Ryan Heffington, Boma Iluma, Ken Jeong, Alex Takacs, and of course, Jacobs herself, who directed the opening and closing segments of the film.

In the spring of 1972, seven members of the Jane Collective, an underground service in Chicago, were arrested for providing illegal abortions to women in need. The collective had been founded by Heather Booth in 1965, when a friend in need of the procedure was nearly suicidal. “Pregnant? Don’t want to be? Call Jane,” read ads placed in the underground press, offering a counseling service mostly for low-income women and women of color. The Janes would refer women to abortion providers, sometimes performing abortions themselves. After the organization was discovered by the Chicago police, the seven Jane members’ lawyer successfully delayed the case’s court proceedings until the January 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which struck down federal and state abortion bans in the United States.
