Jensen Ackles was not sold on the finale of Supernatural when he first read it. It must be noted that Supernatural came to an end after 15 seasons, with Jared Padalecki and Ackles playing their respective characters for well over a decade. Dean Winchester famously died in the episode, apparently for good, given that Sam Winchester had a full life after him.

Ackles describes feeling ‘uneasy’ after the first time he was exposed to the nature of the finale, which makes sense, given how long the actor had played the character. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he revealed what he exactly felt about the finale, and how he eventually came around to saying goodbye to the show.

If we're going by the source material, season 3 of Invincible completed volume 12 of 25 of the comics. The Invincible War followed by the fight with Conquest was the perfect way for Prime Video to hit close to the halfway of the series and the right ending point of the season. As unforgettable as those were, the attitude change from Mark Grayson (Invincible) is the most crucial moment of the season. Mark stated that anyone who threatened his family would be killed and he wasn’t joking.
I’ve stated in multiple articles that this was the beginning of dark times for Invincible, but season 3 was only a taste of what's to come. If you thought the Invincible War and Conquest were a problem, wait until you meet the most powerful Viltrumite alive, Grand Regent Thragg.
The Invincible social media team wasted no time announcing the future of the series in their posts.

James Gunn is so back and this time, he has brought David Corenswet with him. Probably creating one of the best Superman movies of all time, the world is very excited (and worried) about James Gunn’s Superman.

However, insider reports allege that an initial test screening has taken place for Gunn’s Superman. Comparisons to Henry Cavill’s Superman were made and the thing that Superman fans were worried about? Well, it allegedly worked out beautifully for David Corenswet’s Man of Steel.
Fans are worried about James Gunn’s love for humor

A new look at Mortal Kombat 2 hit the site yesterday and Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat co-creator and head of gaming developer NetherRealm Studios, has today shared some of the movie-themed skins coming to the Mortal Kombat 1 video game this year.
As we first reported on GameFragger.com, these highlight the character and costume designs for Johnny Cage, Kitana, Scorpion, and Shao Khan. This take on the four icons does right by the games and should look badass in action in Mortal Kombat 1 and the upcoming sequel.
Shao Khan, played by Martyn Ford (House of David) looks particularly impressive and the actor and bodybuilder was clearly the right choice to bring him to life on screen without having to head down the CG route (we recently asked him about playing the villain; find that here).

The ending of The Boys is not only a mystery for fans, but also for many of its main cast members. According to star Colby Minifie, who plays Vought's publicist (and later CEO) Ashley Barrett, the final two scripts haven't even been sent out yet, despite production on the final season set to wrap in a few months.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke took everyone by surprise when he decided to wrap up the beloved superhero series with its fifth season. Many fans expected it to go on for a lot longer — I mean, Kripke is the same guy who kept Supernatural going for 15 seasons — but ultimately, ending The Boys on a high seems like a very sensible option.
The Boys season 5 started production in November 2024. Despite already having many months of filming already complete, most cast members still don't know how the show wraps up. The writers sneakily only...

Jared Padalecki is best known for his role as Sam Winchester in Supernatural, which ran for fifteen seasons. After the show concluded in 2020, Padalecki and co-star Jensen Ackles have been vocal about a reunion. The former on-screen brothers will reunite for the upcoming fifth season of The Boys, created by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.

During a recent interview, Padalecki finally broke the silence about the upcoming reunion with Ackles, who has already played Soldier Boy on the hit superhero series. However, Padalecki’s comments about his appearance in the series have me concerned as a fan of both Supernatural and The Boys. Here is what Padalecki had to say and why his comments scare me.

Supernatural star Jensen Ackles played Soldier Boy in season 3 of The Boys, and the actor who played his father in that series, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, took on the role of Joe Kessler in season 4.
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke worked with both actors when he was calling the shots on Supernatural (he created the series and stepped down from his showrunner role after season 5). However, Morgan's casting left Jared Padalecki as the only one of the show's original leads who hadn't appeared in The Boys.
It's since been confirmed that the show's final season will feature a full-blown Supernatural reunion with Ackles, Padalecki, and Misha Collins all set to appear.
Talking to Business Insider, Padalecki said, "I don’t know a whole lot about it, which is [f***ing] terrifying," he said before confirming he will share the screen with Ackles. "I don’t know what we’re doing. I don’t know if we like,...

You know how some things feel like a ‘right place, wrong time’ situation? Like that moment when you’re holding onto an old sweater, not because it’s fashionable but because it reminds you of simpler times. Well, for Antony Starr, the possibility of joining the MCU seems to be one of those ‘been there, done that’ scenarios, and he’s not even that interested in participating.
Recently, at Toronto Comic-Con, Starr made it clear that the Marvel Universe isn’t his scene anymore.

It’s been over a week since John Cena shocked the world and gave Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson his soul. This was supposed to be a farewell tour for one of (if not the) best professional wrestlers ever. More than that, he was someone that kids looked up to. Now, those kids have kids and they’re seeing their hero go Anakin Skywalker and embrace the dark side of the Force.
Changing from a baby face (hero) to a heel (villain) happens often in wrestling, but it's shocking in comics. It usually means the balance of power in the universe shifted. For example, one of the most famous was Superman becoming a tyrant during Injustice. Comic book fans have seen alternate realities where The Man of Steel has switched sides, but this happened on a bigger scale. Even if you don’t read comics you know about it because it...

While the show awaits a release date, Jensen Ackles reveals that Countdownhas wrapped filming. Though not his first major role since Supernatural ended, the upcoming show marks Ackles' first leading role since its conclusion. The star will play an LAPD officer who is brought into a secret task force in order to investigate a murder with ties to a much larger scheme.Led by One Chicago co-creator Derek Haas, filming officially began in September 2024, with All Rise's Jessica Camacho, Euphoria's Eric Dane, Death and Other Details' Violett Beane, and Young Rock's Uli Latukefu joining the cast thereafter.

The fifth and final season of Prime Video's ultraviolent superhero show The Boys is coming very soon. Season 4 left everything very much in the open, with the gang of vigilantes being taken by what we can only assume is the Vought corporation, whose agenda will follow Homelander's vision of world domination. Although we can make some assumptions about the epic finale of the show, The Boys always finds a way to surprise audiences. Just don't ask the cast what they may be, as they're being kept in the dark about how it will all end. According to actor Colby Minifie, who plays Ashley in the series, no one has been shown scripts for the series finale.
Ashley is one of the most interesting characters in the show. She's the paranoid and unpredictable Vought employee who takes care of everything to make the Supes look good in the public eye.

Jack Quaid Meets His Toughest Opponent Yet and It’s Not Antony Starr’s Diabolical Villain Homelander
Although he is the son of two of the most commendable acting talents in Hollywood’s entertainment industry—the fan-beloved Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan—Jack Quaid still seems to be clawing his way to the top and gaining worldwide recognition by himself. This was especially evident from his performance as Hughie in The Boys, his breakthrough project.

But while his breakout in the industry, which came around seven years after his professional acting debut back in 2012, saw him gearing up against one of the worst villains of all time, i.e. Antony Starr’s diabolical Homelander, Quaid seems to have moved on from that. This is because, in a recent video, he met his toughest opponent yet—even tougher than Homelander.

Cody Rhodes Made a Promise to Dwayne Johnson 13 Years Ago and Now He Has Stolen His 2 Beloved Titles
Cody Rhodes refused to sell his soul to The Rock and in turn got smacked by a heel turned John Cena (a sentence no one ever saw coming). Rhodes finally finished his story as the Undisputed WWE Champion after his win against Roman Reigns in last year’s WrestleMania Xl. It was his first world championship win in his career.
Rhodes and Dwayne Johnson’s feud started way back when the former promised that he would take two of the most prestigious titles bestowed on The Rock. Rhodes claimed thirteen years ago that he would be synonymous with the WWE Championship and be called the People’s Champion instead of The Rock.

The WWE Universe was at a loss for words after Elimination Chamber when John Cena, the poster child of virtue, took a dark turn and led a shocking assault on Cody Rhodes. Thus, leaving the fans to anticipate that he will forsake his integrity for a 17th WWE Champion in his final run.

Omni-Man and Homelander might have taken over the cultural zeitgeist when it comes to Superman archetypes gone bad, but comics, in general, have a very rich history of breaking down the Man of Steel into his base parts as a character and then using those parts to assemble critiques and statements about not only the industry but also the nature of power and what the character represents.

Henry Cavill’s version of Superman was perhaps a tad darker than what fans have seen in earlier versions of the character, but it must be noted that it was nowhere close to some of the takes that people have had on their Superman archetype, some of which now Cavill is aware of. Elvis Mitchell of Interview Magazine had an interesting question to pose to Cavill when it came to describing the powers of Superman.

Prime Video's subversive acton-drama The Boys is one of the most popular genre shows out there, which is especially high praise given it's a superhero show operating outside the Marvel-dc super-complex. After four hugely successful seasons, showrunner Eric Kripke has decided to end the show with the upcoming season. What can we expect? Well, besides from pushing the bounderies of how much vulgarity can be put to screen, star Jack Quaid teases a "bittersweet" ending.
The saga has very much been told through the eyes of Quaid's character Hughie. In season 1, he represented a voice of reason among all the chaos, but after teaming up with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and the Boys, he's become a pivotal figure in the ongoing fight to take down the oppressive, unhinged superhero Homelander (Anthony Starr).
The Boys season 5 is in production right now. By the time everything is wrapped up, Quaid will be an emotional wreck.

Long before Patrick Schwarzenegger was wreaking havoc on season 3 of "The White Lotus," he was auditioning for the role of Homelander on "The Boys." Fans of that show know Homelander as the evil, all-powerful supe who carries disdain for most humans and a deep fondness for breast milk; Antony Starr kills it in that role, and it's hard to imagine anyone else doing it like he can.
Needless to say, Schwarzenegger (who's nearly 20 years younger that Starr) did not get the role as the 40-something Homelander, but the actor doesn't seem particularly upset about it. "It was nothing," he said in a recent podcast interview. "We audition for hundreds of things, and we get one percent, less than a percent of what we audition for." While Arnold Schwarzenegger’s tryst with superhero roles has not gone too well in cinematic history (Mr. Freeze and Turbo Man), his son seemed to have a bit of better luck with genre. Patrick Schwarzenegger, who is currently the star of White Lotus season 3, reportedly auditioned for two blue-suited and red-cape wearing superheroes.
The junior Schwarzenegger joined The Boys universe as Golden Boy in Gen V, but he had reportedly auditioned for Homelander. However, that wasn’t the case. Cavill soon announced that he would not be returning to the role. By then, Gunn had already mapped out plans for a new Superman movie—one that wouldn’t be an origin story but would focus on a younger version of the hero, making Cavill an unlikely fit.
The debate over whether Gunn is responsible for Cavill’s departure continues among fans. Meanwhile, David Corenswet has been cast as the new cinematic Superman. But before he landed the role, numerous actors auditioned for the part, including Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Patrick Schwarzenegger auditioned to play Superman. The 'White Lotus' actor submitted a self-tape to take on the lead role for James Gunn's upcoming superhero tale - which eventually went to David Corenswet - but didn't even receive any notes on his try-out.Appearing on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Patrick was asked: “Have you done more than your share of superhero auditions in your career?”He replied: “No, I haven’t."The 31-year-old star explained his three auditions in the superhero world were for Luke Riordan/Golden Boy in 'Gen V', which he booked, Homelander in 'The Boys', and 'Superman'.Asked if he'd got into costume for the latter, he replied: “No, I don’t think I got any feedback. I think it was like, ‘No, not for you'."Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the 'Staircase' actor has had just two in-person auditions, for 'American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez',...

Patrick Schwarzenegger had a short-lived but highly memorable role as the rising superhero Golden Boy in Gen V, the hit spinoff of The Boys. He could have also taken on the role of the Man of Steel in the Dcu, but his audition didn't get him very far in the casting process, making that potential casting not meant to be.
On a recent episode of Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Schwarzenegger – the son of action movie icon Arnold Schwarzenegger – was asked about other superhero role auditions he might have taken on in his budding career. He clarified that he's only ever auditioned for three superhero roles, landing one of them, which was the role of Golden Boy in Gen V. He'd previously gone for the role of Homelander in The Boys, which went to acclaimed actor Antony Starr. The other missed opportunity was for Clark Kent in this year's Superman film,...

Patrick Schwarzenegger reveals he auditioned for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie.
While appearing on a recent episode of Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Schwarzenegger was asked, “Have you done more than your share of superhero auditions in your career?”
The White Lotus star quickly replied, “No, I haven’t,” and said the three times he has auditioned for roles in the superhero world include for The Boys character of Homelander, Golden Boy (in the show Gen V, which he booked) and Superman.
Horowitz followed up by asking if he got into costume for this Superman audition, to which Schwarzenegger playfully responded, “No, I don’t think I got any feedback. I think it was like, ‘No, not for you'” and added how the audition was a self-tape.

The world of superheroes is filled with various genres trying to outshine one another. But over the years, such shows have become more intense and darker. However, Invincible Season 3 will always reign supreme when it comes to delivering the most emotional and brutal sequences.
A still from Invincible | Credits: Prime Video
This becomes even more interesting considering that not even The Boys, known for its extreme and violent moments, has attempted it. Let’s dive deeper to understand what that is and how Invincible shattered both Marvel and DC’s boundaries with this.
Invincible does something that not even The Boys dared to do
The superhero genre has always experimented with dark themes and narratives, but Invincible has taken things up a notch. In its third season, the show crossed a major line that not even The Boys ever dared to attempt. In Episode 6, the show presented a chilling and...

Antony Starr may have racked up a fan following of millions over the years following his breakthrough in the entertainment industry through pieces like Banshee, Outrageous Fortune, and Wish You Were Here, but the one project to present him with fame like no other is none other than The Boys. If anything, that’s a role that would stick with him forever.

While he has already cemented himself as the best iteration of Homelander to date, it seems like even his forthcoming projects won’t help him shake off that image. This is because his next release in line is his upcoming film with Viola Davis, the thriller-action G20, which paints him in the same villainous colors as his star-studded Prime Video series.
Antony Starr’s next might be G20, but it is further painting him in Homelander’s colors Starr as Rutledge.

We know that you’ve been imagining this whole brutal, no-holds-barred superhero showdown in season 5 of The Boys. Hoping for your favorite hero (or in this case anti-hero) to get their big moment. But then, imagine a trio of legends swooping in, stealing the thunder like Homelander crashing a press conference. That’s exactly how some fans might feel, now that Supernatural icons are returning in the final season of The Boys.
The iconic Supernatural trio | image: CW, Warner Bros.
After wrapping up season 4 of The Boys, showrunner Eric Kripke hinted at a reunion between Jensen Ackles and his former Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki. But now it seems, not just them, even Misha Collins is reuniting in Season 5, marking a dream-come-true moment for longtime Kripke-verse followers. However, fans can’t help but sympathize with the Og cast of The Boys, who have fought (literally and figuratively) to carve out their own spotlight,...

No, there isn’t a Supernatural reboot…yet. Prime Video’s The Boys recently stirred up excitement on social media when the hit show dropped a massive tease for its upcoming fifth and final season. It involves Days of Our Lives alum Jensen Ackles and his former Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins.
They’ve Got Work To Do…Again
In a video that several Instagram accounts posted, Days alum Jensen Ackles kicked off the madness with, “Hey Jared, we got work to do…again.” The action then cut from Ackles to his Supernatural brother Jared Padalecki, who played Sam Winchester to Ackles’s Dean Winchester. The former Walker star picked up the proverbial baton and said, “Okay, I’ll tell Misha. Misha! We got work to do.” Misha Collins wrapped things up when he responded, “Okay. What are we doing?” Finally, a page featuring The Boys title ended things with authority.

Supernatural fans rejoice! Jared Padakecki and Misha Collins are set to reunite with Jensen Ackles in The Boys season 5.
Supernatural, Eric Kripke’s monster-of-the-week series about two demon hunting brothers, was one of the biggest shows of the noughties. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles starred as Sam and Dean Winchester and were later joined by Misha Collins’ angel Castiel in their adventures. When the show came to an end in 2020, fans were devastated and Kripke went on to forcus on his acclaimed superhero show The Boys.
The Boys is currently in production for its fifth and final season. To the delight of many Supernatural fans, news has emerged that Padalecki and Collins have been cast in the new season. Combine that with the earlier casting of Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Sam and Dean’s dad in Supernatural, we’ve got quite the reunion to look forward to. Jim Beaver and Rob Benedict,...

The boys of Supernatural are reuniting, fittingly, on The Boys. On the surface, there might be a lot of distance between The CW weekly procedural and the R-rated hit streaming series, but the two shows come from the same creative mind, Eric Kripke. The Boys showrunner is best known as the creator of Supernatural and worked on the series for the first five seasons. Kripke has used The Boys to collaborate with many of his former actors. For the final season, Kripke is pulling out all the stops as the main trio of Supernatural will appear.
Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins have been confirmed to appear in The Boys Season 5. Their Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles, previously featured on The Boys as Soldier Boy, is expected to reprise his role. Diehard fans are well aware that Ackles and Padalecki played Dean and Sam Winchester, respectively, in Supernatural. Meanwhile, Collins played the angel Castiel,...

With The Boys season 5 being the last, there are naturally a few fan wishes. One of the things we wanted to see was a certain Supernatural reunion.
That wish is coming true! There’s the Supernatural team-up that is sure to bring new fans to the series and an interest in a Supernatural reboot or revival once more.
The Boys is no stranger to Supernatural reunions. There have also been a few Timeless reunions. That’s what you get when Eric Kripke created all three shows, and he loves working with actors he likes from other productions. It just took time to make schedules work for this particular reunion. He did say that a certain actor coming into the show was "the Pokémon I haven’t collected yet."

Shortly after the fourth season of The Boys wrapped up, showrunner Eric Kripke indicated that Jensen Ackles' (Soldier Boy) former Supernatural co-star Jared Padalecki might be set to join him in the upcoming fifth and final season.
Now, a new video posted to the show's X account confirms that Padalecki has indeed joined the season 5 cast... along with Misha Collins!
Supernatural starred Ackles and Padalecki as demon-hunting brothers Dean and Sam Winchester, while Collins played their angelic ally Castiel.
The Boys has also featured fellow Supernatural actors Jim Beaver (Robert Singer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler) and Rob Benedict (Splinter).
We have no idea which characters Padalecki and Collins will be playing on The Boys, but we'll be sure to update if and when the trades weigh in.

Monopolies, mergers, and content shuffling through various streaming services are frustrating endeavors. They utterly break the illusion of accessibility towards films and media that the lure of Ott had invited when Netflix would disrupt the space, and the rest of the studios would follow suit with their own corresponding Ott service.
If one views the acquisition of Hotstar by tech giant Jio, leading to the dissolution of their streaming service Jiocinema, and the merging of Hotstar to form JioHotstar, it is essentially to swallow the media library of Disney+Hotstar. As a result, JioHotstar currently has the Disney Library, which includes Marvel and Star Wars, as well as re-integrates live sports broadcasting. More importantly, JioHotstar is now again the home of the HBO series and the sole distributor of Peacock and Paramount + content.

It is not every day that two superheroes battle it out for a role but the audition tapes of Henry Cavill and Antony Starr for James Bond from 2005 have been released. The two join two other stars Rupert Friend and Sam Worthington to be 007 but all four ultimately lost out the role to Daniel Craig.
Cavill has long been considered to be the perfect man for James Bond. The actor seemingly received endorsement from Casino Royale director Martin Campbell but it never came to be. It wouldn't be a season of Prime Video's The Boys without Jack Quaid being covered in fake blood. Over the past four seasons of the hit superhero series, Quaid's Hughie Campbell has been showered in guts and gore, launched into Billy Butcher's (Karl Urban) revenge mission against the world's "superheroes." Filming is currently underway on the show's fifth and final season, and the actor has teased fans by revealing that Season 5 will continue that long-running, and incredibly messy trend.
Quaid took to Instagram to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at The Boys' final season. "Work's Been Going Great, You Guys!" Quaid wrote along with a thumbs-up emoji, sharing a picture of himself splattered in fake blood all across his face. Surprisingly, the image Quaid shared is tame compared to some of the stuff Hughie has gone through in the show. The Boys Season 4 in particular was a tough one...

If there's one thing you can count on in every season of The Boys, it's Hughie Campbell winding up covered in blood.
Cameras have been rolling on the fifth and final season of the Prime Video series since last November, and star Jack Quaid has now shared a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set.
Though the image doesn't provide any context, it seems pretty clear that Hughie will be taking yet another bloodbath when the show returns next year.
In the season 4 finale, Hughie and most of his teammates were captured by Homelander's forces (these slightly spoiler-y set photos reveal where they were most likely sent), leaving only Annie January - now powered back up as Starlight - and Billy Butcher on the lam. With the latter on a crusade to wipe out all Supes, it's probably going to be up to Annie to rescue Hughie and the others.

Companion, a film about a robot named Iris (Sophie Thatcher) whose boyfriend/owner Josh (Jack Quaid) tries to deactivate her after a weekend gone wrong, has been hailed as one of the year's best movies so far. The film has a great score on Rotten Tomatoes, described as an an excellent film with fantastic depth.
In little under three weeks since it released, the film has made nearly triple its budget at the box office - with that sort of success, it’s no wonder director/writer Drew Hancock’s is already soft-planning sequels. For those who haven’t had the chance to see Companion in the theater, the film now has a release date on Digital as well as its physical media release. Per Screen Rant, it will make its Digital debut on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The 4K Uhd, Blu-ray, and DVD release will follow on April 1.

William Zabka’s performance in the final episodes of Cobra Kai has fans clamoring for the Karate Kid alum to receive an Emmy. Only the second actor to receive such a snub after Antony Star’s Homelander, this would be hard for the Academy to pass over Zabka for, given how much fans and critics enjoyed his performance.

Antony Starr’s Homelander has been considered to be one of the greatest characters to come out of modern Hollywood, becoming synonymous as a villain with the likes of Darth Vader, Thanos, and Loki. However, the actor has never received an Emmy for his groundbreaking performance, and the same is true for William Zapka, whose potential of Johnny Lawrence has not only received widespread acclaim but remains one of the highlights of the show.
