Sad now.
Yesterday was the last episode of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.
(Note: As I write this, there are still three more shows. I’m going to assume that, if something newsworthy happens on-air between my deadline and publication, my editor will let me revise this accordingly.)
The Nightly Show replaced The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert’s Comedy Central show a few months, before Trevor Noah took over The Daily Show from Jon Stewart. Both Wilmore and Noah had been featured correspondents on The Daily Show, as had Colbert a decade earlier.
I love Jon Stewart. He is the man my mother wanted me to marry (even if he’s a decade younger than I am). I also love Stephen Colbert. He’s really, really smart and he can sing. I was sad when they were no longer hosting their own fake-news shows.

A familiar face will return to The Nightly Show one last time – Jon Stewart.
On Thursday, Larry Wilmore and his team will say their goodbyes to the canceled Comedy Central series, but not without the help of Stewart, 53, the late night host's longtime friend.
"We're just going to be simple [Thursday] night," Wilmore told EW. "We're gonna do a little reminiscing. I'm going to talk to all the contributors – although Mike Yard and Ricky Velez unfortunately aren't going to be here because they already had plans to be away. But everybody else should be around. Jon Stewart is going to drop by,...

Let’s get it right, hmm?
I was watching The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore as I usually do. I’ll watch Colbert depending on who he has on but, in general, I’ve been watching The Nightly Show. I know, I could tape one and watch the other later but the reality is I just don‘t get around to watching the taped show.
I like Wilmore and did when he was “Senior Black Correspondent” on The Daily Show. He’s been sharp and timely… most of the time.
On Tuesday night, Wilmore did a segment on the water situation in Flint, Michigan. Flint has been a hard-luck case for quite a while, often trading with Detroit the title of the murder capital of America and usually high on the list of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. They’ve also been broke for a lot of the time,...

Whenever Ricky Velez, Holly Walker and Mike Yard show up, it's almost always as a different character. It's one of better aspects of The Nightly Show, and now that newcomer Grace Parra has joined the gang, the writing staff can flex its comedic muscles even further. Which is great, since Parra debuted on Tuesday's episode as Liza Delgado, Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush's fictional campaign adviser and "Jeb Can Fix It" cheerleader.

“Nightly Show” contributor Mike Yard informed his boss Larry Wilmore that the black Republican vote is officially locked up, and it’s all going to a surprising candidate: Donald Trump. “This dude is ’90s hip-hop all day,” Yard explained to the stunned Comedy Central host. “Trump likes gold, he rolls deep, he had his own vodka, he’s got his own cologne, he’s got tons of baby mamas, he’s had court appearances, and he’s dealt with bankruptcies.” “This dude is even jacking beats!” the political correspondent declared, referring to Trump’s unauthorized use of a Neil Young...

Mia Amber Davis' Widower Sues Doctors Over Death
The widower of actress Mia Amber Davis is suing the Road Trip star's doctors for prescribing birth control pills which allegedly contributed to her death from a pulmonary embolism.
Davis passed away last May, a day after undergoing an operation on her knee to fix an old sports injury.
Los Angeles coroners ruled her official cause of death was a "pulmonary thrombo-embolism" - a blood clot in the lungs - although they listed the surgery as a "significant condition contributing to death".
Her grieving widower Mike Yard, who wed the plus-sized actress in 2008, is now convinced the type of contraception she was on, Balziva and Zenchent, "greatly increased her risk for a pulmonary embolism and ultimately caused her death".
He claims her obstetrician should have known better than to prescribe the overweight Davis with the drugs. Yard is adamant his wife should have been offered an alternative type of birth control, because "obesity" is a well-known risk factor with those pills.
Yard also alleges the doctor who cleared Davis for treatment on her knee was wrong to do so because she was obese, adding he "should have advised (Davis) to eliminate some of her other risk factors prior to clearing her for the surgery".
He is seeking unspecified damages from both the obstetrician and the surgeon for the loss of love, companionship and moral support, reports TMZ.com.
