Netflix's hit comedy, the Adam Brody and Kristen Bell-starring Nobody Wants This, is well into production on the series' second installment. And, given the popularity of the "loosely based on a true story" tale from Erin Foster, it's probably no surprise to anyone that the streaming service is eyeing an Asap release date for Season 2. With production slated to wrap in April of this year, it seems as though a primetime, fall release date is a given for the popular series.
According to the blog What's On Netflix, the streamer is allegedly eyeing an October 2025 premiere date for the show's second season. Which will no doubt be music to the ears of the users who helped contribute to Nobody Wants This amassing approximately 56.8 million views in 2024 alone. While Netflix has yet to confirm anything, we would not be surprised if it makes all of this official when they...

Get ready for a wild reunion on the season 2 finale of Elsbeth with a murderer’s row of past murderers!
Elsbeth has been a great hit for CBS in 2024-25, as viewers have come to love this unique mystery series. The setup has Carrie Preston reprising her Emmy-winning role from The Good Wife as eccentric attorney Elsbeth Tascioni. Coming to New York as part of a “consent decree” with the police, Elsbeth soon uses her quirky mind to help solve murders.
The show stands out for two elements besides Preston. The first is that it’s a “howdunnit” where most episodes open by showing the audience who the killer is. While some episodes can make it more of a mystery, the majority play on Elsbeth matching wits with the killer.
The second is that the show boasts a fantastic bevy of guest stars as the killers, each providing some fun entertainment.

Hailey Gates’ Iraq war satire, starring Alia Shawkat and produced by (among others) Luca Guadagnino, won the festival’s top award: the Grand Jury Prize in the U.S. Dramatic competition. The politically charged comedy, which follows an aspiring actress in a military role-playing facility, is still looking for U.S. distribution amid mixed reviews out of Sundance. Meanwhile in that section, Eva Victor’s staggering feature debut “Sorry, Baby,” a startlingly wise and unsentimental depiction of trauma set in American academia, won a Screenwriting prize...

Song’s debut feature, Past Lives, premiered at the festival, as did Green’s Monsters and Men. Moayed was at Sundance in 2023 with Nicole Holofcener’s You Hurt My Feelings.
Elsewhere, Steven Bognar, Vinnie Malhotra and Marcia Smith will handle the U.S. Documentary Competition, with Daniela Alatorre, Laura Kim and Kevin Macdonald taking the World Cinema Documentary Competition. Ava Cahen, Wanuri Kahiu and Daniel Kaluuya will judge the World Cinema Dramatic Competition.
The Short Film Program Competition will be judged by Kaniehtiio Horn, Maggie Mackay and Kibwe Tavares, while Elijah Wood will judge the Next section.
Yesterday, CEO Amanda Kelso and festival director Eugene Hernandez sent a letter to the indie film community stating that Sundance will continue as planned despite the fires burning in Los Angeles.

Seven-time Emmy winner and Succession creator Jesse Armstrong has found his next project. Variety reports that Armstrong will re-team with the show's executive producer Frank Rich for a new original film for HBO. The plot will follow "four friends who convene during a dramatic international financial crisis."
There aren't many details right now other than Armstrong is penning the script, and production will reportedly begin sometime later this year. The studio is checking on actors' schedules for availability, though no names have been announced as of this moment. No release date has been announced either.
Armstrong is primarily known for his work on television, and his biggest show, Succession, ended in 2022 after four seasons. During its time on air, the series won a total of 19 Emmys, including three for best drama series, with several statues awarded to Armstrong for his writing. Unsurprisingly, Succession is also one of the most critically-lauded series of all time,...
