Ted Lasso is recasting an important character for season 4. After much speculation about whether the hit Apple TV+ series would continue, Ted Lasso season 4 was recently confirmed to be moving forward. Jason Sudeikis is returning to reprise his role as the optimistic and inspiring Ted, who will be coaching a women's soccer team this time. Another star from the previous seasons, Juno Temple, is in talks to reprise her role of Keeley Jones. The new season will begin in Kansas, where Ted reunited with his family at the end of season 3.
As per Deadline, Ted Lasso season 4 is now looking to recast Ted's son, Henry. The recasting is reportedly due to Henry's soccer talents being a key part of his storyline in the upcoming season. The actor who played Henry in prior seasons, Gus Turner, is expected to be invited to audition, so he could potentially continue playing the character...

Apple TV+ is bringing back “Ted Lasso” for Season 4, and the show is now looking for a new young actor to play Henry, the soccer-loving son of the titular AFC Richmond coach.
Warner Bros. Television did not respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
Gus Turner played the son of Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) for Seasons 1-3. Henry appeared mostly during FaceTimes between himself and his dad, who was off coaching soccer on the other side of the world while he stayed in Kansas with his mother Michelle (Andrea Anders). However, Henry did make his way to London a number of times to visit Ted. He went once with Michelle and another time on his own after his parents separated. Henry was also the one to welcome his father home upon his return to Kansas at the end of the Season 3 finale.

Ted Lasso is coming back for another season, but not every actor will be returning.
The Apple TV+ comedy series was confirmed for a fourth season earlier this week, and Jason Sudeikis confirmed he will be reprising his titular role.
Also set to come back are Brett Goldstein (who played Roy Kent) as a writer and executive producer along with fellow EPs Brendon Hunt (who played Coach Beard), Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, Bill Wrubel, and Leanne Bowen.
However, we have now learned that one actor, with a recurring role, is set to be recast for the next installment.

With Ted Lasso officially renewed for Season 4, casting is now underway—but not just for new characters. The beloved Apple TV+ comedy is making a key recasting change before production begins. According to a report by Deadline this evening, it seems like the show is searching for a new actor to portray Henry Lasso, Ted's (Jason Sudeikis) 12-year-old son. Previously played by Gus Turner throughout the first three seasons, Henry was mainly seen through FaceTime calls with Ted, as he remained in Kansas with his mother, Michelle (Andrea Anders), while Ted was over in London coaching AFC Richmond, Of course, the series ended with Ted leaving the club and returning home to Kansas, where Henry ran to greet him.

Exclusive: With Ted Lasso‘s Season 4 formally greenlighted last week, casting can officially begin. But before the selection process of actors for new characters starts, the comedy series is going through a bit of recasting.
Search is under way for a young actor to play Ted Lasso’s (Jason Sudeikis) son Henry. A soccer fan throughout the first three seasons, Henry, now 12, has become a skilled soccer player himself. Reps for Apple and Ted Lasso studio Warner Bros. TV declined comment.
The character, played by child actor Gus Turner is Seasons 1-3, was seen largely through FaceTime video calls with his dad who went to London to coach AFC Richmond while Henry stayed in Kansas with his mom. The ill-fated "Friends" spin-off "Joey" is finally available to stream for the first time since it went off-air. The streaming age debut of "Joey" comes almost 20 years after the show was cancelled by NBC back in 2006 after just two seasons. Whether modern-day "Friends" fans will be more impressed by the series than audiences of the early-2000s, however, remains to be seen.
For whatever reason, when "Friends" ended after 10 seasons in 2004, NBC decided to take Matt LeBlanc's character and give him an entire show, which followed Joey as he moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of stardom. Of course, every "Friends" fan loved Joey, but the idea of him being removed from the main group seemed a dubious premise at best. Fans' concerns were sadly confirmed when the spin-off aired. "Friends" might've had some bad episodes, but even they weren't quite as dire as "Joey," which failed to capture much,...

AFC Richmond is headed back to the pitch, and their coach is coming with them.

“Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief,” Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+, said in a statement. “Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.”

Friends fans span generations. Thanks to the series' arrival on streaming, a whole new generation of young people are discovering NBC's must-see Thursday night comedy turned cultural touchstone. But that also means there are a whole host of fans who probably had no idea — or at least have never seen — that a Joey Tribbiani-centric spinoff called Joey actually happened. Well, for those younger fans, the chance to check out the short-lived series that barely was is now.

The official “Friends” YouTube channel Tuesday posted the first two episodes of “Joey,” a spinoff series centering around Matt LeBlanc’s wisecracking womanizer Joey Tribbiani.
This is the first time “Joey” has been made available since its 2004 debut. Starring LeBlanc alongside Drea de Matteo, Paulo Costanzo, Jennifer Coolidge and Andrea Anders, the series follows the titular Joey as he “leaves New York for Hollywood in order to take his acting career to the next level” and reunites with “his high-strung sister Gina (Matteo) and “Michael (Costanzo), his 20-year-old genius nephew,” per the official logline.
“Joey” ran for 46 episodes across two seasons from 2004-2006. Created by Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Scott Silveri, the show’s pilot pulled in an impressive 18.6 million viewers. However, the buzz didn’t last long, and viewership declined significantly through the remainder of Season 1 and Season 2.

Friends is one of the most beloved and popular sitcoms of all time. The ten-season NBC sitcom followed the lives of six 20-somethings in New York City, where they balanced their jobs, friendships, and relationships.
The series ran between 1994 and 2004. However, even three decades later (and more than 20 years since its finale), the sitcom is still widely popular. While the series has often received some criticism over its lack of diversity, as well as some problematic storylines, it's still a comfort show for many. Now, Warner Bros. has surprised fans in the most unexpected way: by posting two episodes of its spin-off, Joey, to stream for free on YouTube, per Deadline.

There's an interesting parallel between 1997's "Batman & Robin" and 2002's "Die Another Day." The former almost killed off the Batman cinematic saga before it had even existed for more than a decade, while Pierce Brosnan's swan song as James Bond almost put an end to what had been, ever since 1962's "Dr. No," cinema's most enduring franchise. Then, in 2005, Batman got what became known as a "gritty reboot," with Christopher Nolan reinventing the iconic hero for his "Batman Begins" origin story. The following year, Bond would get the same treatment, with what remains the best Bond movie ever made: "Casino Royale."
Both movies turned around flailing franchises, and both movies took a more grounded approach to their protagonist, ditching much of the traditions that had come to define both franchises in order to introduce something truly fresh. In 007's case, Daniel Craig gave us all a version...

In today’s time, many movies and shows have started to bring in several interesting yet creative storylines. But while some manage to get the audience hooked to the screens, others leave them posting their frustration online. The same happened with Ted Lasso as well, which is a sports comedy-drama featuring actor Jason Sudeikis.

Well, this is a big, fat bummer you can bet on: After two short seasons on Max, the streamer announced it has canceled Bookie, a sitcom nestled in the world of sports betting. Why? While your guess is as good as mine (because the show is rife with great characters and plenty of humor), it’s likely due to poor ratings, despite the warm critical reception and acclaim it has received since its premiere in November 2023.
This reception, combined with a 90% Tomatometer and 86% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes, is why Max absolutely made the wrong decision in cancelling Bookie. Audiences clearly loved the show, which brought us some big laugh-out-loud moments during its run.
A Max spokesperson said in a statement:
“For two seasons creators Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay and their hilarious cast, led by Sebastian Maniscalco, made us laugh while pulling back the curtain on the world of sports betting.

Danny and Ray are facing more than just troublemaking clients in Bookie season 2. The duo were first brought to life in the first season of Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay's Max comedy by acclaimed stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco and character actor Omar Dorsey. Every once in a while, Sebastian Maniscalco’s stand-up persona creeps into his performance on Max’s “Bookie.” But rather than ask him to tone it down, executive producers Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay welcome the occasional slip.
“He bailed us out,” Bakay says of an upcoming episode of “Bookie,” which returns to Max with ten more episodes for Season 2, rolling out weekly starting Thursday, Dec. 12. “Sometimes we’ll ask for it when we’re in trouble. We’ll be like, ‘hey buddy, we got nothing here!’”
Fans of Maniscalco’s standup know what Bakay is talking about: Whenever he’s ready to make a point, the stand-up star will pause, throw on a thicker swagger and exaggerate the syllables in a certain word or phrase for comedic effect.
And he admits to it popping up on camera: “Sometimes the stage Sebastian comes out a little bit,” says Maniscalco, who...

The Max original series Bookie takes the idea of finding comedy in everyday life to the next level. The series follows two bookies, played by Sebastian Maniscalco and Omar J. Dorsey, as they run their illegal sports gambling business while trying to avoid (but still get into) various hiccups and headaches along the way.
The first season of Bookie was nothing short of a surprise, and Season 2 is promising even more hijinks and hilarity. Cbr spoke with creators Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay to learn what makes the series unique. The pair -- who are well experienced in more mainstream sitcoms such as Two and a Half Men -- talked about working together and finding Bookie's dark sense of humor.

Bookie returns to Max December 12 with a familiar face and the appearance of two TV comedy vets who were recruited to help spice up the action around the sports betting world.
Charlie Sheen is back to play himself in the second season of the Sebastian Maniscalco comedy, which follows bookie Danny (Maniscalco) as he and his partner, former NFL star Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), romp around Los Angeles trying to keep their illegal sports betting operation in play. The eight-episode second season will lead up to the season finale on Thursday, January 30.
“Charlie was such a home run for us in season one, we thought we’d extend the metaphor a little,” Nick Bakay, who co-created the comedy with Chuck Lorre, tells Deadline. “I don’t want to spoil things, but I refer to his arrival this season as Deus Ex Sheen. He is forever a part of the Bookie family.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson recalled Matthew Perry helped calm his nerves while shooting his first show with a “Friends” anecdote.
While talking with Lisa Kudrow on his “Dinner’s on Me” podcast, Ferguson looked back to days on the set of “The Class” – a one-season show and among the “Modern Family” alum’s first – and remembered a shoot that was saved for him by Perry showing up and sharing a behind-the-scenes joke from his days on “Friends.”
“I remember we were shooting ‘The Class’ on the same stage that you shot ‘Friends’ on at Warner Brothers,” Ferguson said. “David [Krane] was very comfortable there, Jimmy Burrows was very comfortable there. Doing business with a man who made billions on child labor and may have murdered a past associate. Jokes about children being sexually abused in the foster system. Extreme and public intimate partner violence played for laughs because both partners are men. Though you might think plotlines like these went extinct circa Entourage and Sons of Anarchy, Bookie is doing its best to revive the antihero era. Sometimes it feels like a charmingly retro throwback; mostly it’s so sweaty and off-putting that it reminds you why they don’t make TV like this anymore.

Since its spectacular debut in 2007, the fan-favorite sitcom The Big Bang Theory continues to attract and entertain audiences all around the globe, with the juggernaut hit going on to become one of the most popular TV shows of all time and launching a lucrative and enduring franchise. Tbbt ran for 12 dazzling seasons and was the recipient of numerous accolades, like 10 Primetime Emmys, with its massive success leading to the development of two knockout spin-offs: Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.
The coming-of-age series Young Sheldon serves as a prequel to Tbbt and chronicles the genius Sheldon Cooper's upbringing in the small Texas town of Medford during the late '80s and '90s. Zoe Perry memorably starred as Sheldon's devoted mother Mary for seven seasons, taking over the role from film and TV great Laurie Metcalf, who sporadically appeared as the character throughout the course of Tbbt.

Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) is the only Friends character who got a spinoff TV series, but the best continuation of his story is actually this 24-year-old action movie that made $264.1 million at the box office. The 1990s and early 2000s saw the rise of some of the greatest TV shows of all time. Among them is Friends, which, even though it ended 20 years ago, continues to be very popular among older and newer generations, even if it hasnt aged that well in some areas.
Friends gave closure to the stories of its main characters except for one: Joey, the womanizer of the group. While the rest of his friends got married or reconciled with their lobsters and formed families, Joeys story continued in the spinoff series simply titled Joey. The series only lasted two seasons and ended up giving rushed closure to Joey, with the once-womanizer finally finding his partner...

Roger Moore will always be remembered as one of the most iconic James Bond actors of all time, but some of his movie moments in the franchise haven't held up. As a replacement for the original and beloved 007 star Sean Connery, the British actor defied the odds and conquered the heart of the public. Roger Moore's 007 remained with the audience longer than any other James Bond actor. His razor-sharp wit and goofy humor gave the character and stunts of Moore's James Bond a charming touch.
However, since he first took on the role in 1973, not every aspect of Roger Moore's 007 has aged as gracefully. Similarly to Sean Connery's James Bond, some moments from the franchise feel outdated by today's standards and might not resonate with modern audiences, though it has to be noted the entire James Bond franchise has moments that have not aged well. Netflix would then movee up the...
