Just in time for Christmas — the sixth season of Virgin River is set to premiere Dec. 19. And it’s not one of those half-season drops that Netflix has been doing a lot of lately — all 10 episodes of Season 6 will be available that day.

That is slightly ahead of schedule — Netflix at the start of February unveiled its 2024 original slate, and Virgin River, along with a slew of other fan favorites, like Stranger Things, Ginny & Georgia and Wednesday, were not on the list, pointing to a 2025 return.

However, nothing is set in stone — Virgin River is the second series originally eyed for 2025 that will be back sooner than anticipated. The other is The Lincoln Lawyer, whose third season was delivered early and will debute Oct. 17.

The pair have teamed up with The Big Leap and Modern Family director Jason Winer to develop This Beautiful Life, a one-hour drama in the works at NBC.

The series follows a 30-year-old woman who is living her best single life in the city but wakes up in an idyllic small town 10 years later with a husband, a child and absolutely no idea how she got there. Thinking she’s lost her memory or her sanity, she searches for answers only to discover that something much bigger than her own psyche is behind this phenomenon … and that she’s not the only one trapped in this beautiful life.

Exclusive: Carly Wray, whose credits include Watchmen and Westworld, has closed an exclusive multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros Television.

Deadline understands that the deal is in the high seven figures across three years. Warner Bros beat out a number of other suitors for the agreement, which is understood to have closed just before the studio shut down production in March.

It comes as Wray’s previous overall deal with HBO expired at the end of last year. The new agreement will allow Wray to develop, write and produce for the premium cable network but will also broaden out the opportunities to include streaming service HBO Max as well as third-party networks and digital platforms.

Most recently, Wray worked on Westworld, the sci-fi drama from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and Damon Lindelof’s adaptation of Watchmen, which she was also a co-exec producer.

The ReFrame coalition has awarded 26 feature films released in 2019 with its ReFrame Stamp, which recognizes the top 100-grossing gender-balanced narrative and animated features. The list, which grew from 20 total films that earned the stamp a year ago, includes Booksmart, Captain Marvel, Harriet, Hustlers and Oscar Best Picture nominee Little Women.

This reflects gains for women in the important roles of director, department heads, and women of color leads and co-leads. With an aim to increase the number of women of all backgrounds working in film, TV, and media, the ReFrame Stamp, which is showcased in end credits and appears on IMDb, serves as a mark of distinction for projects that have demonstrated success in gender-balanced hiring. The WarnerMedia-owned direct-to-consumer platform has set a script development deal for “The Beach,” a one-hour drama based on the book “Beach Lane,” by New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz.

Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith are writing and executive producing alongside “Vampire Diaries” co-creator Julie Plec through her My So-Called Company production shingle, Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo of Alloy Entertainment and Jenna Dewan for Everheart Productions. ABC has given a put pilot commitment to “Love Me,” a one-hour drama from “Life Sentence” creators Erin Cardillo and Richard Keith, and Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman’s Brownstone Productions, a rep for ABC told TheWrap.

According to ABC, “Love Me” follows the stories of a multi-generational family in Chicago as they search for love in our increasingly detached digital world, and explores how their unconditional love for one another helps them navigate the highs and lows of it all.

The project is based on the Swedish format from “Welcome To Sweden,” whose co-creator and star Josephine Bornebusch will executive produce. Warner Bros. TV, which houses Cardillo and Keith’s In Good Company banner, is also attached. Cardillo and Keith write and executive produce, along with Banks and Handelman. Brownstone’s Dannah Shinder will co-executive produce.

This is the first overall deal for Cardillo and Keith who have created two projects to date for the studio that have gone to series, Significant Mother in 2015 and and Life Sentence in 2018, both on CW. They also have sold a number of broadcast pitches with big commitments.

The duo have also written solo features in the romantic comedy genre. Cardillo’s Isn’t It Romantic for New Line and Warner Bros. has grossed $48 million domestic since its release on Valentine’s Day.

After successes like “The Wedding Date,” “What Happens in Vegas” and “How to Be Single,” Fox went through years of struggle to get a rom-com made in the era of superhero blockbusters. But between Netflix and the surge of love for “Crazy Rich Asians,” the often-mocked genre is cool again — and Fox’s latest script, “Isn’t It Romantic,” hopes to ride the wave.
