Sum 41 gave their final performance at the 2025 Juno Awards, where they were also inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
In typical awards-show fashion, the pop-punk vets performed a medley during the ceremony on Sunday (March 30th), running through portions of their hits “Landmines,” “Fat Lip,” “Still Waiting,” and “In Too Deep.” With the band having wrapped up its final farewell tour dates in January, the medley will stand as Sum 41’s last-ever performance (unless they reunite in the future).
Also at the ceremony, the band of nearly 30 years was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, with Deryck Whibley and company being welcomed to the stage by fellow pop-punkers Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte.

Jay-Z, the billionaire rapper and entrepreneur, found himself catapulted into Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex abuse saga Dec. 8 when he was named as a co-defendant in a refiled lawsuit garnering global headlines. In the amended complaint, the Grammy winner, born Shawn Carter, was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl alongside Combs at an awards show afterparty more than 20 years ago. He swiftly and vehemently denied the “heinous” allegations, saying they were part of a “blackmail attempt.” He later sued for defamation in two states, claiming he was the victim of a shakedown.

Jay-Z has filed a hard-hitting new defamation and malicious prosecution lawsuit against the Alabama-based Jane Doe who publicly accused him of a sexual assault involving Sean Combs but then later admitted inconsistencies in her story and voluntarily dismissed her lawsuit last month.
In his new lawsuit filed Monday and obtained by Rolling Stone, Jay-Z says the woman and her lawyers — Tony Buzbee and David Fortney — engaged in an “evil conspiracy” to extort him with the “completely fabricated” and “wildly horrific” claim that he raped Doe alongside Combs in 2000. The woman...

The Jane Doe accuser filed papers on Friday evening, informing the court that she was withdrawing her complaint with prejudice — meaning that she can’t file it again. Cameron Diaz believes the #MeToo movement “changed everything” in the film industry – like putting an end to “that one guy” who would always make people feel uncomfortable on sets.
“There were always layers and layers of inappropriateness that you just kind of had to put up with,” Diaz said in an interview on the SkipIntro podcast.
The set of her latest film “Back in Action” was completely different. A rep from Hr told her about an anonymous hotline she could use to report inappropriate behavior, something that was very different from her earlier experiences.
“I was like, ‘Wow, that’s amazing’. The level of security and safety you feel as a woman now on set is great. I had never felt that before this film,” Diaz said.

What Deal Did Cameron Diaz Strike With Netflix Before Back In Action? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Cameron Diaz’s return to the big screen wasn’t easy to secure, but Netflix struck a deal worth $45 million to bring her out of retirement for just two films. The first of these, Back in Action, starring Jamie Foxx, is already making waves, sitting atop the streaming giant’s charts.
Cameron Diaz’s Irresistible Netflix Money Deal
Diaz had been retired for almost a decade, focusing on her family life with her husband, Benji Madden, and their two children. Still, when former Netflix boss Scott Stuber and his successor Dan Lin offered her a deal, the 52-year-old Hollywood star couldn’t refuse and decided to return.
While Lin had a reputation for tightening budgets, he saw the value in Diaz’s star power and was willing to meet her price—$45 million for two films.

House of Protection burst onto the scene in early 2024 and caught the attention of every heavy music fan around. The brainchild of former Fever333 members Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta, and produced by ex-Bring Me the Horizon member Jordan Fish, the band brought a boundless energy, unburdened by the confines of any genre, that more than lived up to the pedigree of its members. They followed up the lead single with several others, culminating in the release of one of the best EPs of 2024, Galore . Guitarist and co-vocalist Stephen Harrison, who was also in The Chariot and co-wrote Poppy’s 2024 album Negative Spaces , was kind enough to chat with me about his exciting year, the writing process, Pokémon , skating to the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack, and so much more! So first of all, how are you doing? You've had an incredibly big 2024! Stephen Harrison : Good, man! It’s been a trip.

Cameron Diaz, the star who rose to prominence during the late 1990s, seemed to have vanished from the Hollywood spotlight for a while. The woman who was once was the queen of romantic comedies, who illuminated the screen with her signature smile, didn't disappear entirely, she has just been exercising her right to make the movies she actually wants to make. And if you think she will return to making movies in the genre that shot her to international fame, guess again. Diaz is not open to starring in romantic comedies again. Instead, she wants to make "momcoms."
How are those different? Only Diaz knows. What seems to be important, however, is that she hasn't fully retired — she's just being more careful as to what movies she's considering making next. Diaz, 52, is set to return in 2025 with the Netflix action film, Back in Action, a film whose title only seems appropriate for the actor's comeback.

Back in Action has, as easily predicted, rocketed to the top of the Netflix streaming chart on its debut. Despite coming in for some heavy critical panning, the Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx action comedy is doing exactly what was expected of it.
As a film that suffered several delays, including a lengthy one caused by Jamie Foxx’s medical issues, Back in Action’s arrival on Netflix seemed like the end of a very long journey for the movie. Billed as Diaz’s big comeback movie, her first major appearance in a decade, there has been plenty of attention put on the film, making it almost guaranteed to be a viewership winner for the streaming platform.

Cameron Diaz, who recently made her return to acting for the 2022 action/comedy feature Back in Action, has officially made her return to the red carpet.
Back in Action follows former CIA spies Emily (Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx) whose secret identities are exposed, forcing them into espionage.
At the Berlin premiere of the film on January 15, Diaz hit the red carpet accompanied by her costar Foxx. Deviating from premiere fashion norms, Diaz sported baggy high-waisted black jeans, complemented by a sheer black top and a dramatic wool coat that trailed behind her at floor length. She topped off the look with slick black flats, bright red lipstick, gold earrings and an artistically casual bun.
Despite the carefully curated fashionable display, many people called Diaz out for wearing jeans to the exclusive event. In turn, many other people pointed out that Diaz looked much more physically comfortable in her clothing...

After ten years of being retired from acting, Cameron Diaz is back and better than ever in her new Netflix action movie, Back in Action, which is most definitely worth coming out of retirement for. Diaz's career first began in 1994 when she made her feature film debut in The Mask, at just 21-years-old. From there, Diaz continued earning greater and greater roles, ranging from romantic comedies like There's Something About Mary to more serious projects like Being John Malkovich. These days, Diaz is also remembered for her franchise films like Charlie's Angels and Shrek.
To say the least, Diaz boasts an impressive career, which is why many were so disappointed when the actress decided to leave her profession. After starring in three successive movies in 2014 - The Other Woman, Sex Tape and Annie - Diaz announced that she would be retiring from acting in order to focus on her family.

“I don’t know how I view it. It’s hard to say,” she explained. “If I say it then it becomes this thing. Hollywood definitely loves a good scandal, doesn’t it? 2024 has been a year that has taken the drama to levels that even the boldest screenwriters wouldn’t dare script. This year has been a wild ride of jaw-dropping allegations, reputations unraveling faster than a celebrity marriage in Vegas, and public meltdowns.
The entertainment industry has found itself in the eye of a storm, with controversies that are not just messy but outright explosive. From the disturbing accusations at music mogul Sean Diddy to the surprising backlash aimed at Blake Lively, the stories that have dominated headlines feel more like plotlines from a dark, twisty HBO series than real life.

After suing the woman’s lawyer for extortion, vehemently denying the woman’s claims in a lengthy X post, and asking for expedited orders unmasking the woman and striking her complaint, Jay-Z’s lawyer filed new court paperwork today saying he also plans to challenge the lawsuit on the grounds that Doe’s decades-old rape claim simply doesn...

Jay-Z’s attorney told reporters on Monday that the rape case against the rap mogul is “provably demonstrably false,” presenting evidence that he says explains why the story told by Jane Doe “never happened.” Alex Spiro also declared, “This is not for truth and justice. This is for money.”
Spiro spoke at Roc Nation’s New York headquarters, saying that the attorney who filed the lawsuit — Tony Buzbee — took advantage of the now 38-year-old woman who says Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The Jane Doe acknowledged inconsistencies in her allegations last week in a NBC News report and Spiro says he wants the public to know that “these are not minor inconsistencies. … If you look at the time, it’s not possible this could happen.”

Recently a woman accused both rappers of s*xually assaulting her at a party when she was just 13 years old. Although both have denied the allegations, the woman is firm that the brutal incident did take place.

Jay-Z’s attorney is looking to dismiss a lawsuit accusing the rapper of raping a 13-year-old girl after the Jane Doe acknowledged inconsistencies in her allegations in a new NBC News report.
In the lawsuit, originally filed in October, a woman identified only as “Jane Doe” sued Sean “Diddy” Combs for allegedly raping her at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The complaint was amended on Sunday to include the allegation that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was also present and participated in the assault.
In a new interview with NBC News, the Alabama woman, who is now 38, recounted what she called a “catastrophic event” 24 years ago, alleging that she was given a spiked drink and subsequently assaulted. However, she and her lawyers also recognized some inconsistencies in her recollection of that night in response to the outlet’s questions. “I have made some mistakes,” she said.

The woman who accused Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of raping at a MTV VMAs afterparty in 2000 when she was 13 years old spoke about the alleged incident in a new interview with NBC News. While the woman, who has chosen to keep her identity anonymous, says she stands by the allegations, she also admitted that she made “some mistakes” in her recollections of the events. Now, Jay-Z and his attorney are pointing to those inconsistencies as proof that her entire story is fabricated.
In her original suit filed against Combs last October, and amended earlier this month to list Jay-Z as a co-defendant, she claimed that she traveled from Buffalo to attend the VMAs. She recounted being brought by limo to an afterparty at Diddy’s residence, where she drank a spiked drink, and awoke to find herself being assaulted by Diddy and Jay-Z. The last time Cameron Diaz graced our screens, the BAFTA nominee was singing up a storm and cussing out kids as the villainous Miss Hannigan in Will Gluck’s 2014 Annie remake. Now, after a ten-year hiatus from Hollywood, Diaz is gearing up to make her return to movies in aptly titled Netflix joint Back In Action. Assuredly not a remake of *that* early noughties Looney Tunes movie, this one is instead a spy comedy caper from Horrible Bosses director Seth Gordon that reunites Diaz with her Annie and Any Given Sunday co-star Jamie Foxx. This time out, the duo play Emily and Matt, a seemingly ordinary suburban couple whose past lives as elite CIA agents comes back to haunt them when their cover gets spectacularly blown.
For Diaz, who’s spent the last decade raising a family with former Good Charlotte guitarist husband Benji Madden, it was the Foxx factor that swung her cinematic comeback.

Was Bad Teacher a big jackpot for Cameron Diaz? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Cameron Diaz made a legitimate move by swapping a fat upfront salary for a percentage of the backend profits. In simpler terms, she bet on herself—and it paid off big time.
At first glance, Bad Teacher looked like a mid-level comedy with a modest $20M budget. No one expected it to light up the box office charts. But Diaz had a knack for picking winners. She played the percentages right, and the movie pulled in a whopping $216 million worldwide when the dust settled. Diaz made more than double the film’s budget Inn in the early 00s; Diaz was a comedy queen with a sharp wit and impeccable timing. Remember There’s Something About Mary? That iconic hair-gel scene? Yeah, that kind of comedic genius. Diaz became a bankable star, effortlessly blending humor and heart. But Bad Teacher...

Quick Links Diaz's Early Career and Retirement Why Did Diaz End Her Retirement, And What's Next?
Cameron Diaz is one of the most iconic actors of her generation. She's also one of the few who gave her career up. Diaz stepped away from acting in 2014, keeping a low profile ever since. However, she's set to end her 10-year hiatus with a spot in Netflix's upcoming film Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx. Diaz and Foxx play two former CIA agents who are unexpectedly thrust back into the spy world when their secret identities are uncovered. Seems like a fitting plot and title for an un-retiring actress.
While Diaz is certainly not the first major star to walk away from the limelight, her case is unique. She wasn't in a career slump, nor was she dealing with any known health or personal issues. She just decided to walk away.

After becoming one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, Cameron Diaz stepped away from the limelight in 2014; now, 10 years later, with several new projects in the works, Diaz is opening up about her decision to both leave and return.
With her last onscreen role in 2014’s Annie, Diaz said at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit on Monday that stopping acting “was something I just had to do. It felt like the right thing for me to do to reclaim my own life and I just really didn’t care about anything else. Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have.”
In the past decade, Diaz has married Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden and welcomed two children, daughter Raddix and son Cardinal.
