The White Lotus hit another viewership milestone with its latest episode, which proved to be quite a buzzy one.

The sixth episode of Season 3 drew 4.2M U.S. cross-platform viewers, eking out a win over the Season 2 finale, which previously held the series’ audience record with 4.1M.

It appears this season is on track to be the biggest one yet, as HBO says that episodes are pacing more than 5M viewers ahead of last season. Season 2 ultimately averaged around 15.5M U.S. viewers per episode.

On a global scale, HBO says that each Season 3 episode has hit a viewing high, though the company didn’t provide any numbers for viewership outside the U.S.

As mentioned, Sunday’s episode generated quite a bit of conversation on social media as well. The hashtag for the show was in the Top 10 trending topics on X for 10 consecutive hours in the U.S.

The Ratliff brothers starred in one of the most shocking scenes of the latest season of the HBO drama as it takes on the taboo subject of incest and has the fictional characters questioning their decisions.

In the featurette following Episode 6, Nivola notes that although the series is set at a resort “focused on mindfulness,” on the flip side, the characters question “whether or not you can make peace with yourself and your demons.”

The White Lotus opened the doors to its lavish Thai hotel resort on February 16, 2025, introducing a new cast of decadent tourists for Season 3. While plenty of polite first impressions gave way to passive-aggressive behavior and potential motives for murder, several characters have already shown themselves as potentially the worst of the bunch.

Of course, one appeal of The White Lotus is witnessing the humiliating fall of the narcissistic, ultra-wealthy elites who, despite vacationing in paradise, never feel satisfied or fulfilled. With a mysterious murder setting the table each season, the fun becomes playing detective, figuring out who will die and who the killer is. While there's still plenty to solve with the remaining episodes in Season 3, one White Lotus character is more suspicious than the others.

The White Lotus season 3 episode 5 really went there after teasing some odd sexual tension between two particular characters since the very first episode. Wood said that creator Mike White preferred her own accent compared to an American one when she tried both during the audition stage. “I can do an American accent. But Mike just wanted my Manchester one,” Wood told The Sun.

She finds that she often doesn’t come across as an American because of one specific tell.
