During the 1970s, Disney animated films went through a bit of an unfortunate slump. With lower budgets and significantly rougher animation, films like "The Aristocats" and "Robin Hood" just didn't have the same power to impress audiences as the innovative and high-end attempts of the previous few decades. Though "The Aristocats" was a box office success and critics were fairly kind to it,it has mostly become a footnote in Disney animation history.
"The Aristocats" follows the adventures of a fancy housecat named Duchess (Eva Gabor) and her kittens Marie (Liz English), Toulouse (Gary Dubin), and Berlioz (Dean Clark) after they are catnapped by the jealous butler of their owner, Madame Adelaide, and end up lost under a bridge in Paris, where they befriend alley cat J. Thomas O'Malley (Phil Harris). "The Aristocats" is quite a bit of fun with some truly underappreciated Disney characters, which makes us wonder what...

Ariana Grande travels with a furry companion; no, not Toto, but close. The Grammy-winning pop singer — and, thanks to her film “Wicked,” newly minted movie star — shows up at our shoot hours early, ready to make friends as she meanders around the coffee station with her beagle-Chihuahua mix, Toulouse, in her arms. As time passes, Grande begins to seem like just another member of the crew, chatting eagerly with anyone she sees. Eventually, she decides to take Toulouse to the patio. “We’re just looking for some sunshine,” she trills.
It’s almost a surprise that she can’t generate her own. This year, Grande fulfilled a lifelong dream by taking on the role of Galinda — the perma-cheerful mean girl who turns out to have a heart of gold, and is destined to become Glinda the Good Witch. Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of the smash Broadway musical about goings-on...

Friends cookies episode is one of the show's funniest and most memorable moments, showcasing the unique self-referential comedy of the sitcom. The popularity of Friends has continued to grow even years after it went off the air, with iconic moments like Monica's cookies incident living on through rewatches and memes. The official Friends cookbook, written by Amanda Yee, includes the recipe for Monica's chocolate chip cookies and many other iconic food moments from the show.
Though the sitcom was filled with iconic and hilarious moments, the Friends cookies episode is one of the show's all-time funniest. Just as quickly as she fell into the world of Galinda before she becomes the Good Witch of the South, Ariana Grande is already preparing to say goodbye. Filming for the two-part adaptation of the popular Broadway musical has reached its halfway point – with its first half set for release in November 2024 and its second in December 2025 – and the singer isn’t yet ready to leave Oz.

Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Oscar-winning director of “Summer of Soul,” is helming a remake of “The Aristocats” for Disney.
Similar to “Sonic the Hedgehog” or “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” the adaptation of “The Aristocats” will be a blend of live action and CGI.
Thompson, the drummer of the Roots, is also executive producing and overseeing music for the film. As previously announced, “Peter Rabbit” filmmaker Will Gluck and Pixar’s “Onward” writer Keith Bunin are adapting the screenplay.
Tarik Trotter, Shawn Gee and Zarah Zohlman will serve as executive producers. Gluck, via his production company Olive Bridge, is producing along with Thompson’s Two One Five Entertainment.
Originally released in 1970, “The Aristocats” centers on a family of pampered felines — mother Duchess and her three kittens Berlioz, Marie and Toulouse — who live in Paris and are expecting to soon inherit a massive fortune. But when their owner’s jealous butler learns of their inheritance,...

While American Horror Story: Freak Show’s massacre was one of the most dramatic and unexpected scenes in the season, it was also a weak, misguided anti-climax thanks to poor pacing and character choices. There are few shows as frustrating as American Horror Story. The horror anthology series often sets up a stellar premise, only to abandon this intriguing conceit to follow an irrelevant supporting character or focus on an unrelated side quest. One of the best seasons in the show’s history, American Horror Story: Cult, was a sharp political satire until its finale devoted to cringe-worthy, predictable wish fulfillment.
Similarly, American Horror Story: 1984’s Richard Ramirez subplot derailed an otherwise fun homage to classic ‘80s slashers by delving too deep into a lurid, unnecessary recreation of a real-life serial killer’s crimes. Before that, American Horror Story: Apocalypse spent half the season introducing a slew of characters and...
