People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals upped its campaign this week against Paramount’s forthcoming Jackass Forever. In a letter to Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Kimberly Abourezk and L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer, PETA Cousel Caitlin Zittkowski wrote that the film’s trailer contains “scenes apparently involving cruelty to animals.”
She specifically calls out moments that include “Johnny Knoxville being charged by an agitated bull, a person being bitten on the nose by a captive snake, and a tarantula trapped in a plastic tube between two people’s heads.” She notes that, since the film appears to have been shot in L.A., any violations would lie within the purview of their offices. According to IMDb, production did in fact take place in L.A.
The bullfighting scene, for instance, may violate California Penal Code section 597(b), according to Zittkowski. She says that section applies to any...

At the beginning of the week, Paramount became the latest studio to give a bunch of its high profile movies the heave-ho from this year into 2022 in yet another release date shake up. Tom Cruise had both Top Gun: Maverick and Mission Impossible 7 given a hefty delay, while the allegedly final Jackass movie Jackass Forever was also postponed to the end of the winter season. As you would expect though,Jackass star Johnny Knoxville wasn't going to just let Paramount put out the news as a press release and have done with it. Instead, he went out and found himself a Jackass promotional billboard so he could change the release date himself with can of spray paint.
As is also customary in these situations, Johnny Knoxville had Jackass producer Dimitry Elyashkevich on hand with a camera to film the entire stunt. In the video posted on Knoxville's Instagram account,...

Possibly the most honest and convincing 3D movie on the planet, Jackass 3D soared to the top of the Us box office over the weekend. But is it any good?
How do you even begin to talk about a movie like Jackass 3D? I mean, there's no plot, there's no story, there's no acting. It's just a loose collection of crazy stunts and physical violence performed by middle-aged millionaires with way too much time on their hands. So, basically, it's like any other action movie produced this year, but with a much lower budget and a much higher profit potential.
At this point, you know what Jackass is about. It's the perfect combination of reality television and a scripted program, with wacky stunts intermingled with random craziness, ‘man on the street' reaction shots, meshed with performance art. As sheer spectacle, you can't go wrong with Jackass 3D.
Some of it is hilarious.
