Crunchyroll announced a big treat for anime lovers this week. Starting Friday, the platform will stream the English dub of the anime adaptation of Mato Kousaka’s light novel, I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time. Alongside this, they revealed some exciting details about the cast and production team behind the dub.

It’s a little hard to say how popular the series Trailer Park Boys is. It went for twelve seasons and this is the fourth movie spin-off, all in the space of over twenty years. Not many shows have been quite as prolific as that. But. I have met very few people who have watched the show and I see very little talk about it online. I am a fan of the show and have been for a good while. Although in truth, it’s been a long time since I’ve opened up my DVD boxset. When I discovered a new movie was out though, I jumped at the chance to see it.

UK-based sales firm Blue Eyes Film and Distribution has acquired international sales rights to mockumentary Standing On The Shoulders Of Kitties: The Bubbles And The Shitrockers Story.

Blue Fox Entertainment and Blue Fox Canada have picked up North American digital and theatrical rights for comedy “Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story.”

Featuring Mike Smith as Bubbles, Robb Wells as Ricky, John Paul Tremblay as Julian, and Patrick Roach as Randy, the movie is a spinoff of the popular long-running Canadian show “Trailer Park Boys,” which has 16 seasons available for streaming on Netflix. The film from director Patrick Perez Vidauri follows the romantic travails of three friends in San Antonio, Texas whose destinies are changed by an ancient prayer that guides them to true love. Game of Thrones alum Jacob Anderson has been tapped to star as Louis opposite Sam Reid’s Lestat in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire series for AMC and AMC+. The series, based on Rice’s book, is slated to begin production on its eight-episode first season later this year for premiere on AMC and its sister streamer AMC+ in 2022.

The book famously was turned into a 1994 movie, which starred Brad Pitt as Louis and Tom Cruise as Lestat.

Rolin Jones, who co-created and served as showrunner for the first season of HBO’s Perry Mason, is the creator, writer and showrunner of Interview with the Vampire. Jones, who has an overall deal with AMC Studios, will executive produce alongside Mark Johnson, Anne Rice and Christopher Rice.

AMC ordered the series in June after acquiring the rights to 18 of Rice’s books in 2020 to turn them into a TV franchise overseen by Johnson.

Jacob Anderson will play the vampire Louis in the AMC series “Interview With the Vampire,” which is based on Ann Rice’s popular novels.

“Interview with the Vampire” will premiere on AMC+ and AMC next year.

Anderson will play opposite Sam Reid, who was cast as Lestat.

Last year, AMC acquired the rights to Rice’s bestselling “Vampire Chronicles” and “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” book series, giving the network access to develop film and television projects from any of the 18 titles under both best-selling series.

The author and her son Christopher Rice will serve as executive producers on all series and films under their deal with AMC, which gives the network and its external partners comprehensive rights to develop projects using Rice’s intellectual property.

Blackface With David Harewood will explore the origins of blackface in early 19th-century America and how the form of entertainment, which acted as a delivery system for racist tropes, made its way to Britain. According to the logline, he will seek to understand how it shaped ideas of blackness in popular culture and why it endured so long.

All five episodes of Russell T Davies’ blistering 1980s-set AIDS drama It’s a Sin are a tribute to the lives of gay men lost to the virus, but one scene in particular was written in specific recognition of an individual. Speaking to Doctor Who Magazine, Davies describes a moment in episode four as “a little smile” towards actor Dursley McLinden. “I was really desperate to do it,” said Davies. “I did it for Dursley.”

The scene features series lead Olly Alexander as actor Ritchie Tozer, who’s playing a part in a fictional 1988 Doctor Who serial. Law enforcement authorities in the Peach State today requested that Department of Community Supervision issue a warrant for Miller for violating the conditions of his probation, we have learned. The effort arises from Deadline’s exclusive earlier this week that Miller had directed the DGA sanctioned film Higher Grounds last summer in Serbia, Colombia and the UK.

“I have requested Wayne County probation to issue a warrant for his arrest,” Assistant District Attorney John Johnson told Deadline on Friday. “Randall Miller has violated the terms of his probation,” the Georgia prosecutor added of Miller getting behind the camera on the Kate Nash-starring Higher Grounds. “As a director, he’s in violation.”

Haley Smith, a contestant on Season 11 of American Idol, died Saturday following a motorcycle crash in Millinocket, Maine, Millinocket police confirmed to Deadline. She was 26.

In a statement, police said it appears Smith failed to negotiate a sharp turn and crashed. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the crash is pending.

Smith auditioned in 2012 in Colorado at age 18, performing Rufus and Chaka Kahn’s “Tell Me Something Good” for judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Tyler seemed particularly impressed, telling Smith he loved her voice and was honored to hear her sing, adding she was right out of his “era.” She made it to Hollywood, but was cut after the first round.

Smith’s father, Mike Smith, told TMZ, which was first to report her death, that his daughter was a good rider and believes a deer may have been involved in the accident.
