Event chair Barbara Davis and co-chair Dana Davis hosted the 38th Carousel of Hope Ball on Saturday, October 5 at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills benefiting the Children’s Diabetes Foundation and the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (Bdc).

The event, a Hollywood institution since 1978, honored Diane Warren with the “Inspirational Lifetime Achievement Award” and Jimmy Jam with the “Brass Ring Award.” Patrons of the event were entertained with show-stopping performances by Gladys Knight and Jason Derulo, a special appearance by Rylee Arnold, and additional performers Luke K. and MaKenzie. The Ball raised an incredible over $1.9 million this year alone, in addition to the more than $115 million that The Carousel Balls have raised to date.

This year’s Ball brought together leaders from the film, television, music and business industries to support increasing awareness for diabetes and raise funds for clinical care and diabetes research at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes.

While Bryan Fuller’s style may be a bit too quirky, macabre, or esoteric for some audiences, there’s no denying that the man knows how to give good pilot. The first episode of Wonderfalls was an endearing, fast-talking affair that gradually injected fantasy into early 20s/retail ennui. The first episode of Pushing Daisies was nothing less than a storybook brought to life, a vibrant spin on the matters of life, death, and what happens when the order of the two reverses. And the first episode of Hannibal was a visceral, otherworldly affair that made it clear from the outset it wasn’t your parents’ Hannibal Lecter.

That track record leads to a lot of high expectations for High Moon, even though unlike those previous shows the pilot is (likely) all there’s going to be.

Changes are coming to TNT's Franklin & Bash.

When the fourth season kicks off Wednesday (10/9c), the legal comedy will feature new characters, a few major exits and a new look. Rachel (Heather Locklear) has left the firm, in addition to original cast members Pindar (Kumail Nanjami) and Carmen (Dana Davis), while Franklin (Breckin Meyer) and Bash (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) too have taken on new, more senior level positions within Infeld-Daniels. But don't expect our favorite slackers to button up. The duo says that, if anything, Season 4 feels like a return to form with Franklin and Bash as the renegade underdogs you're rooting for.

There's very good news for fans of Franklin & Bash on TNT. The cable channel has renewed the legal series for a fourth season and there will be 10 new episodes.

Franklin & Bash revolves around a pair of hotshot plaintiff attorneys (Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar) who are best friends and rarely play by the rules. They agree to work for a prestigious law firm and a major culture clash ensues. Others in the cast include Dana Davis, Kumail Nanjiani, Reed Diamond, and Malcolm McDowell.

Heather Locklear joined the cast in season three (replacing Garcelle Beauvais) and according to Deadline, the actress only signed a year deal. A new agreement needs to be worked out for Locklear to return in season four.

The renewal comes as a little bit of a surprise considering the show's mediocre ratings. Season three averaged 2.11...

Bryan Fuller's highly anticipated Syfy project, "High Moon," continues to flesh out the cast for its 90-minute pilot, adding Dana Davis ("Heroes," "Franklin & Bash"), Jonathan Tucker ("The Black Donnellys") and Peter Macon ("Supernatural") in recurring roles, the network announced on Thursday (Aug. 22)

"High Moon," based on John Christopher's novel "The Lotus Caves," is described as "an imaginative, out-of-this-world adventure series exploring what happens when Earth establishes colonies to mine the Moon's resources and discover a new form of life." Fuller and Adam Kane ("Being Human") will executive producer the pilot, which will be written by co-executive producer Jim Danger Gray ("Pushing Daisies").

Macon will play General Gale Lynn Winehart, "a hard-as-nails American Army General able to kick the crap out of just about anybody ... intent on getting to the bottom of the explosion on the moon," while David will play Yama, his daughter, the first and only kid ever born on the moon.

Jonathan Tucker has been cast in Bryan Fuller’s 90-minute Syfy pilot High Moon, which explores what happens when the countries of Earth establish colonies to mine the moon’s resources and discover a new form of life. I have some potentially crushing news for any Franklin & Bash fans out there. I say potentially because I really don’t have enough information at my disposal to adequately assure one or the other if this is going to be traumatic for you. It also depends how much you enjoy a specific character on the TNT comedy. If you’ve become particularly attached to Dana Davis as private investigator Carmen you might want to think about forgetting she exists. Or you might not. Again, I really don’t have all the facts. Franklin & Bash follows two streetwise attorneys (Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar) who've been hired by the eccentric managing partner (Malcolm McDowell) of a prestigious law firm to help breathe new life into the struggling company. Season three of the show kicked off in June and the two-hour episode drew just 1.97 million viewers -- a series low. Viewership improved as the weeks wore on but Franklin & Bash is still down significantly year-to-year.

Franklin & Bash is a light-hearted legal drama that follows two fly-by-the seat-of-their-pants lawyers (Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer) who work at a button-down law firm. The cast also includes Dana Davis, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Kumail Nanjiani, Malcolm McDowell, and Reed Diamond.

The TV series premiered in June 2011 to 2.75 million viewers. The ratings went up and down over the course of the 10 episode season and the TV series ended up averaging 2.64 million viewers.

The show was renewed for a second season and that kicked off this past June. Over the course of the 10 episodes, Franklin & Bash averaged 2.88 million viewers. The final episode aired in mid-August.
