Perhaps the most inside-baseball of films at Sundance this year, Jj Garvine and Tai Parquet’s Film Hawk is an intimate look at film consultant extraordinaire Bob Hawk. Followers of Kevin Smith will know him as the man who discovered Clerks one Sunday morning in the bowels of the Angelika Film Center during the New York Film Market. (Here Kevin Smith provides his usually hilarious and often sincere commentary, often alongside Hawk.)
Checking in with luminaries and friends, Garvine and Parquet have constructed a loving tribute to 76-year-old Hawk, the openly gay son of a Methodist minister who joined the queer immigration to San Francisco in the 1960s, and later to New York. As it turns out, per Smith, Hawk is a Jersey boy at heart, as we discover in a heartbreaking passage later in the story. Hawk’s early interest included theatre prior to the discovery of independent – then...

One of our GeekTyrant Vs video series editors, Jake Smith, created an entertaining video in which he breaks down his Top 5 favorite homes, hubs, and hangouts in video games.
“Sometimes you've gotta take a break from kicking ass. Take a breath, reload, and then push forward. Some of the best games out there have that place you can go to re-equip, only to realize you've sunk 3 hours into just dicking around. This is my list of my favorites!”

GeekTyrant Vs Episode 4 is here, and in this episode we debate over which superhero team would win in a battle… The X-Men or The Avengers.
If you're new to the series, each team has 60 seconds to make their argument. After they make their arguments they get another 60 seconds for a rebuttal. The most important thing about this is that there are no redos or reshoots. So if we have a brain fart and screw up, we have to suck it up and keep going.
This is just a fun group of geeky friends getting together and having a fun time talking about the things we love. Our host, Corrin Raush, was out of town again for this episode, so thanks to Jake Smith for filling in.
After you watch the episode, let us know which side you agree with in the comment section below, and please feel free to suggest...

I am excited to present to you our new web-series, GeekTyrant Vs! Every week two teams of nerds will come together and battle each other over a geeky topic. For example, our first episode includes two teams debating on whether Captain America: The Winter Soldier is better than The Avengers.
Each team has 60 seconds to make their argument. After they make their arguments they get another 60 seconds for a rebuttal. The most important thing about this is that there are no redos or reshoots. So if we have a brain fart and screw up, too bad! It's been recorded and you all get to see us mess up or rise to the occasion.
This has been an extremely fun series to work on. It's basically just a bunch of geeks being really passionate about the things that they love. It's definitely amusing watching us choke under pressure like I did in this first episode.
