Exclusive: Liza Treyger’s first hour-long stand-up special Night Owl is set to premiere globally on Netflix on January 28, sources tell Deadline.

Filmed in New York City, the special sees Treyger touch on her friends who are parents, hating other people’s husbands, and lying to herself about how high she really is. It comes on the heels of Glittercheese, a half-hour she taped for Comedy Central, as well as a half-hour she put together for Netflix stand-up collection The Degenerates. In her new uInterview, Orange Is The New Black star Beth Dover shared how she used her comedy skills in her latest role as Molly Arden in Helen’s Dead.

The film focuses on a group of people who find a dead body at a dinner party, which her character attends to write an expose on.

“Basically, it’s sort of the aftermath of that,” Dover explained to uInterview founder Erik Meers. “So it’s like, what if a bunch of people went to a dinner party and found a dead body? But all of these people are slightly self-involved, maybe slightly unlikeable. And what happens when they find a dead body?”

Dover described the film as a “madcap adventure. It’s like sort of in the style of Clue, maybe.”

The actress shared that she was able to do some improv work with her castmates while on set, which was memorable for her.

Joe Lo Truglio is best known to audiences for his comedic performances, in the likes of Superbad & Brooklyn 99. But now he’s turned his talents to directing, and in a somewhat surprising turn of events, he’s seemingly far more interested in telling horror stories. Outpost is one such movie, and to mark the film’s release on September 11th, we had the pleasure of speaking to the filmmaker.

He talks to us about the film’s journey from conception to screen, and what it was like directing his wife Beth Dover in the leading role. He also talks about the delicate handling of trauma in the film, and looks back across his career, notably on the lasting impact of Superbad…

Millie Bobby Brown’s Netflix movie Damsel is among six titles delayed due to the ongoing 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike putting a halt in film production and promotion.

According to What’s on Netflix, Brown's feature film joins A Family Affair starring Nicole Kidman, Lift featuring Kevin Hart, Players starring Gina Rodriguez, Shirley with Regina King, and another Adam Sandler flick Spaceman, which have all been delayed until 2024. In Damsel, the British actress stars as Princess Elodie. The movie also stars Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, and Nick Robinson. Brown also serves as an executive producer. Filming wrapped up in the summer of 2022; however, it has been put back from October 2023 release date to some time in 2024. The rescheduled premiere of Damsel has not been announced as the writers' and actors' strikes continue to make waves in Hollywood.

With the SAG-AFTRA strike igniting widespread conversation online over the way actors have been paid, Kimiko Glenn found herself going viral when she shared how much she made for her last royalty check for the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black.

On TikTok, Glenn shared a video of her Orange Is the New Black payment for royalties, and she can be heard joking about how she's "about to be so rich." The camera then pans down to the total payout from the check, which comes out to $27.30, an amount that has Glenn shrieking, "What?!" Glenn's post has been shared thousands of times while the video has also been getting spread by users on other social media platforms. Many fans of the show are surprised, expecting for Glenn's checks to be much higher, given the popularity Orange Is the New Black had during its run.

Netflix is one of the many streaming platforms under target from both SAG-AFTRA and the Writer's Guild of America in the ongoing actor and writers strikes, calling for fairer wages, namely in regard to the residuals they receive from projects on said streamers. Both guilds are also raising concerns over increasing use of artificial intelligence in regard to production and losing their jobs.

Earlier this week, it marked ten years since Orange Is the New Black premiered on Netflix, quickly becoming one of the most popular and acclaimed series on the streaming service. After seven very well-received seasons, the show created by Jenji Kohan came to an end in 2019 and to this day remains one of the best on the streaming platform.

Based on the book Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison by Piper Kerman, which recounts her own experiences in federal prison, the series follows the story of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), who must face sentence after having helped her ex-girlfriend Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) to move illegal money to different countries as part of a drug trafficking network.

However, the main attraction of the show was not exactly Piper's story, except for her romance with Alex, but the past and present of all the inmates.

Orange Is the New Black stars are opening up about how they were underpaid by Netflix. Released from 2013 to 2019, the Netflix original series follows a diverse cast of female inmates in a minimum-security federal prison in Upstate New York. Though Orange Is the New Black was one of Netflix's most-watched, widely acclaimed, and longest-running original series, it appears some of its cast members weren't always compensated fairly for their work.

Hello, Jack! Season 2 gets underway Friday, October 7, on Apple TV+.

TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at what's ahead in the season premiere, featuring appearances from Joe Lo Truglio and Beth Dover.

The clip shows Jack as the gazebo following an event that leaves the neighborhood in a state of disrepair.

The gazebo is destroyed, and Truglio and Dover play a husband and wife who think back to when the location served as the space for their wedding.

Jack then speaks about the big day as the two new characters prepare to repair their home.

Jack is one of Clover Grove’s most thoughtful and caring residents, greeting everyone with kindness and humor. His ability to spread compassion, creativity, and imagination inspires everyone in town to do the same.

The third season of Tom Clancy’s political action thriller series “Jack Ryan” is set to premiere on Prime Video Dec. 21.

NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, is hatching a new short-form series called “The At-Home Variety Show.”

Beginning Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. Et, the series will stream every weekday for four weeks. “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane will introduce each segment, which will generally be under 10 minutes and will feature performances from NBCU stars including Jane Lynch, Soleil Moon-Frye, Fred Armisen, Kevin Hart and more.

Peacock will donate funds to the Feeding America, Americares and United Way charities, which are helping those affected by the coronavirus pandemic, including essential workers. Viewers will be encouraged to donate to the charities via Peacock’s website.

While they can be difficult to watch, Beth Dover, who plays Linda Ferguson, says they were just as difficult to shoot. In between practicing her catwalk for New York Fashion Week and preparing for her leading role in her husband Joe Lo Truglio's upcoming horror film Outpost, Dover hopped on the phone to talk to us about what it was like to play one of the most notable villains on a show that addresses so many relevant political and cultural issues. “Oitnb series wrap!,” wrote Taylor Schilling on her Instagram page, one of many cast members posting their public goodbyes on social media as the seventh and final season of the Netflix prison comedy-drama wrapped yesterday. “Whoa. My heart is full and achey and so overflowing with gratitude I’m a little dizzy.”
