This week marks the release of Wind and Truth, the long-awaited fifth book in Brandon Sanderson's epic fantasy series The Stormlight Archive. Any Sanderson book is worth noting, but even by his own lofty standards, this one is special. The Stormlight Archive is a massive epic fantasy series which forms the heart of Sanderson's interconnected fictional universe, the Cosmere; it's planned to be 10 books long, and Wind and Truth marks a major turning point as the end of the first arc of the series. After this, Sanderson will take a six-year hiatus from working on The Stormlight Archive, meaning that we can expect some pretty major resolutions in Wind and Truth.
We know the exact amount of years Sanderson is taking off because of a recent interview he did with Esquire, where he talked about his plans for the future of the Cosmere, among other things. Sanderson shared in...

This week, fantasy readers are going to be hit with one of the biggest releases the genre has seen in years: Wind and Truth, the fifth novel in Brandon Sanderson's epic fantasy series The Stormlight Archive. Sanderson is one of those authors who needs no introduction; he's taken the genre by storm over the past few decades with his ever-growing fantasy universe the Cosmere, his record-shattering campaigns on Kickstarter, and more. It's not an exaggeration to say that if the sci-fi and fantasy book world has a Marvel-level publishing phenomenon of the moment, it's Sanderson and the way he's built out his Cosmere.
To date, there have been four novels and two novellas set in his Stormlight Archive series. This series is Sanderson's magnum opus, immense and sprawling in the same way as other fantasy greats like Malazan Book of the Fallen, The Wheel of Time, or A Song of Ice and Fire.

Spoiler Alert: Spoilers follow for The Babadook
Quick Links The Babadooks Director Refuses to Allow a Sequel The Babadook Doesnt Need a Sequel The Babadook Still Terrifies 10 Years Later
10 years ago, the horror genre had one of its most prolific years ever. While we hadnt quite hit the renaissance that the combined efforts of Jordan Peele and A24 would bring about a few years later, 2014 was still a surprisingly solid year for audiences looking for a good fright. Sequels like The Purge: Anarchy and Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones brought continued success to their franchises, while original stories like As Above So Below, Deliver Us From Evil, and especially It Follows proved profitable to varying degrees.
Yet far and away, horrors crown jewel of 2014 was The Babadook, which earned rave critical reviews and saw a worldwide gross of over $10 million on a budget of just $2 million. In the years since,...

Luke Arnold’s latest thriller, Scrublands, sees Martin Scarsden’s investigation into the tragic church killings orchestrated by Pastor Byron Swift. Those who knew Pastor Byron Swift (Jay Ryan) said he was a generous and kind-hearted man. He treated everyone with respect and was always the first to volunteer to serve the community. He preached the teachings of Christ but never forced or pressured anyone to follow suit. Maybe that’s why no one would have suspected what was going to happen next. One day, while everyone gathered around the church for their morning prayers, Pastor Swift went berserk. He cold-bloodedly murdered Craig (Martin Copping), Tom (Scott Major), Alf (Fletcher Humphrys), Hugh (Ben De Pagter), and Gerry (Adam Morgan) with his long-range rifle. Robbie, the cop, arrived at the scene, shot Pastor Swift, and ended his killing spree.

With less than one week left until Christmas Day, everyone seems to be in the holiday spirit, even an evil presence like The Babadook. To celebrate in true Babadook fashion, IFC Films has released a special animated video, dubbed "How The Babadook Stole Christmas," which may not be appropriate for younger viewers. However, if you're in need of some twisted yuletide fun, then this video should be right up your alley, especially since this thriller from first-time filmmaker Jennifer Kent is one of the most frightening movies you may see all year.
Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. There are majority of directors in Australia who have started their career in short films. But there are only a few directors who achieved the level of success like Glendyn Ivin. Glendyn Ivin has been a winner of the Palme d’Or award for Cracker Bag at Cannes in the 2003.
In 2003, Glendyn Ivin’s short suburban film Cracker Bag won the Cannes Prix in the short fiction category and it was thought by many that probably it will be followed by a big budget film immediately. It is a low budget film. The scenery used is invaluable. There are some marvellous shots, awesome acting and...
