Per Forbes, the official working title for Doomsday is "For All Time Productions UK," with principal photography on the film expected to commence later this month in London. For the third time in eight years, director Mike Flanagan is adapting Stephen King’s work as a feature film. Flanagan’s first two collaborations with King — Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep — were both horror stories. But The Life of Chuck is something else altogether. The newly released teaser trailer lightly acknowledges that it isn’t a scary story by citing some of King’s previous forays outside of horror, including Stand by Me, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile. What it doesn’t answer is the question hanging over the film: Who is Chuck?

Following the film winning the TIFF People’s Choice Award last fall, audiences are getting their first official look at Mike Flanagan’s life-affirming flick “The Life of Chuck.”

Flanagan trades the usual scares of “Doctor Sleep” and “The Haunting of Hill House” for a story about life and what it means to move forward when all hope is lost. Adapted from Stephen King’s novella, “The Life of Chuck” is split into three distinct parts and told in reverse order, following the mysterious life of seemingly ordinary accountant Chuck Krantz (Tom Hiddleston). The cast also includes Jacob Tremblay, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Matthew Lillard, Karen Gillan and Mia Sara, with Nick Offerman narrating.

“The universe is large and it contains multitudes, but it also contains me,” Chuck says in the teaser as he stands on the street in his suit.

Tom Hiddleston plays mild-mannered Charles “Chuck” Krantz, whose death coincides with the end of the world, in the trailer for Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck, which dropped on Thursday.

The teaser early on shows the back of Hiddleston’s head as he plays the titular character of Chuck and walks down a suburban mall promenade. Then, now in a suit and spectacles, we finally see Hiddleston’s face as he nervously stares into the far distance.

“The universe is large, and it contains multitudes, but… it also contains me,” Chuck says in a voice-over to underline the movie’s message about embracing joy in the face of tragedy. The genre-tripping trailer for horror hitmaker Flanagan’s doomsday drama only hints at the end of Chuck’s life with early snippets of an Ecg heart line and a ticking clock.

A TV series based on the works of John le Carré with Matthew Macfadyen attached to star is heating up the marketplace.

Variety has learned that the drama “Legacy of Spies” is currently in the works from producer The Ink Factory and with Fifth Season onboard to distribute. Macfadyen would star as George Smiley, a central character in a number of le Carré’s novels. Stephen Cornwell and Clarissa Ingram have written the initial scripts for the potential series, with Graham Yost onboard as an executive producer.

The project is described as an amalgamation of a number of le Carré’s novels, including “The Spy Who Came In From The Cold,” “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” and “The Honorable Schoolboy,” as well as others and some unpublished work.

According to an individual with knowledge of the project, it has already been pitched to buyers both in the U.S. and U.

Netflix has greenlit a remake of Stephen King’s novel “Cujo,” a horror story about a mother and son who get trapped in their car while protecting themselves from a rabid dog.

Roy Lee (“Barbarian”) will produce the reboot, which has yet to attach a writer, director or cast members, per Deadline, which broke the news of the project. King’s 1981 book was first adapted for the screen in the 1983 feature film of the same name, directed by Lewis Teague and starring Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh Kelly and Danny Pintauro. At the box office, “Cujo” earned $21 million worldwide (not adjusted for inflation) against a $6 million budget.

King’s novels, in genres ranging from horror and sci-fi to crime and fantasy, have been rich material for Hollywood, with films such as “Carrie,” “The Shining,” “Shawshank Redemption,” “Stand By Me,” “It” and the sequel “It: Chapter Two.”

The upcoming film The Life of Chuck (which Neon will be giving a theatrical release on June 6th) is the latest Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan, who has previously been at the helm of the Stephen King adaptations Gerald’s Game and Doctor Sleep (and is also developing a series adaptation of The Dark Tower for Amazon Studios) – but it is not a horror movie. JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray got to see the movie a while back (you can read his 7/10 review Here) and described it as a “bittersweet tearjerker.” We’re still waiting to see a trailer for this one, but today a teaser poster has been unveiled and can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Longlegs and The Monkey director Osgood Perkins is shaken and stirred after a Reddit Ama (via Indiewire) in which a fan asked if he’d be interested in directing a James Bond movie. “Are you open to directing a Bond movie/trilogy? If so, who would you cast as your version of Bond?” Perkins quickly replied, “No, because fuck Jeff Bezos.”

The vibes of Osgood’s response to the question are definitive, as the in-demand filmmaker made no bones about vocalizing his distaste for the Amazon figurehead. Perkins’s comments follow a spat of confusion regarding the future of the James Bond franchise. In late February, Amazon MGM Studios and longtime Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced a shift in leadership as they ceded creative control over to Amazon. Under the new deal, Wilson, Broccoli, and Amazon would share co-ownership of Bond, with Amazon deciding the franchise’s fate and direction.

The most impactful death in the MCU was Tony Stark's at the end of Avengers: Endgame. This death seems permanent despite Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Doctor Doom in Avengers 5 (which could be a terrible mistake).
