Biography

Joyce Brand spent her childhood living wherever her father's career as a Naval officer took the family and still thrives on variety in different projects as well as environments. Based on her feeling that she was meant to be a storyteller, she majored in English and History and received her BA degree, plus a Phi Beta Kappa key, from the University of Kentucky.

After successful careers in corporate management, computer consulting, and sales, she finally discovered her passion for film editing as a means of storytelling in 1998. One of her editing courses at UCLA introduced her to her mentor, John Rosenberg, who hired her as his assistant editor in 1999. By 2001 she was editing her first feature film, "Totally Blonde."

She continues to find compelling stories to tell in different genres and exciting young filmmakers with whom to collaborate. Among them are Andrew Van Slee (Totally Blonde and Adam & Evil), Mark David (Intoxicating), Michael Philip Edwards (Runt), Eli Steele (What's Bugging Seth), and Scott Allen Perry (The Outdoorsmen).
