Osgood Perkins' 2024 horror thriller "Longlegs" is like watching three or four episodes of "The X-Files" simultaneously. The film's protagonist, FBI Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe), has vague psychic powers that she is using to apprehend a mysterious serial killer. The killer, nicknamed Longlegs (Nicolas Cage), has a very peculiar M.O. Every so often, a local family will be violently murdered by one of its members, and the murderer will then take their own life. A note will then be found at the crime scene, written in Longlegs' handwriting, taking credit for the killing. Longlegs also seems to target families with nine-year-old girls who were born on or around the 14th of the month.
As the film progresses, other eerie clues arise. Harker finds a life-size child doll in an attic, and it has a mysterious metal orb hidden inside. What is going on? Later on, viewers will learn that...

Geraldo Rivera is taking partial accountability for the role he played in bolstering public suspicion that John and Patsy Ramsey were responsible for the 1996 murder of their 6-year-old daughter, JonBenét.
John and Rivera appeared live together, via Zoom, on Monday night for a NewsNation segment facilitated by host Chris Cuomo (below) following the Nov. 25 release of the three-part Netflix docuseries Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey. Episode two of Joe Berlinger’s docuseries revisited the memorable mock trial that played out on The Geraldo Rivera Show in 1997, where Rivera asked a volunteer jury of six men and women to “rule” on the likelihood that John and/or Patsy allegedly murdered their daughter. Testimonies pointed to what were deemed to be sexually suggestive photos and videos of JonBenét as unsubstantiated proof that she was an abused child, resulting in a mock verdict that found Patsy liable for her death.

Nearly three decades ago, the world came across the devastating news of the death of the child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey at the age of only 6. After seven hours after her being reported missing, her body was found in the basement of her home at 755, 15th Street in Boulder, Colorado. That was when the world came crashing down on the Ramsey family.
Since then, there has been a lot of debate on how this case, which was later ruled out to be a homicide, took place. But more spotlight was on the child beauty queen’s parents, American beauty pageant winner Patricia Ann Ramsey aka Patsy Ramsey, and businessman John Ramsey. The pair have, since, been the center of a lot, staying the talk of the town for quite some time.

Acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger is hoping that his new Netflix docuseries Cold Case: Who Killed JonBent Ramsey will clear the Ramsey family name. Berlinger's series focuses on the unsolved murder of child beauty pageant queen JonBent Ramsey. On December 26, 1996, JonBent was reported missing by her parents, and her body was later found in the family's basement. The infamous case drew plenty of media and public speculation, with many believing that JonBent's parents, John and Patsy, were complicit in her murder.
Patsy and John were never tried for their daughter's death and were formally cleared in 2008 by then-Boulder District Attorney Mary Lacy, who issued a letter exonerating them based on new DNA evidence. But that hasn't stopped public scrutiny. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Berlinger shares that, through the new series, he wants "to give that family a measure of justice."
"Obviously, the Ramseys are not wrongfully convicted they were never tried.

Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey isn’t so much about proving who is responsible for the death of the 6-year-old beauty pageant winner who was found strangled in the basement of her Boulder, Colorado, family home on Dec. 26, 1996, as it is showing who isn’t: her parents, Patsy and John Bennett Ramsey, and her older brother, Burke Ramsey.
“A lot of shows try to play both sides of the fence, and although we clearly in episode one talk about the case against them, we then in episode two show what we really think is going on,” executive producer and Oscar-nominated director Joe Berlinger tells The Hollywood Reporter of the three-part Netflix docuseries, now streaming. “I think we can solve the case. I want to give that family a measure of justice.”

It was the day after Christmas and the Ramseys would wake up to a chilling truth. Their daughter had been kidnapped and the culprit had left a ransom note.
At least that was what they initially believed. That is until they found the body of their daughter lying dead in the basement.
It appeared that the culprit had sexually assaulted the beauty queen before killing her. And since all this seemed to happen in the safety of her parents’ house, the authorities were ready...

JonBenét Ramsey’s father believes he knows who killed his six-year-old daughter in 1996, despite 28 years and the unsolved murder’s long list of suspects.
Ramsey, a beauty pageant contestant, was found dead in her family’s basement in Boulder, Colorado on Christmas morning, alongside a threatening hand-written ransom note. She died from strangulation and a blow to the skull. The list of suspects for her murder has famously been extensive, with her parents and brother even making the list. Her former teacher, John Mark Kerr, confessed to killing her in 2006, but he was never charged in connection with the murder.
Ramsey’s father, John, is still asking for police to investigate the case and find Ramsey’s murderer. He told The Today Show on Thursday, “There have been horrible failures… but I believe it can be solved if police accept help from outside their system. That’s been their flaw.

Mr. Sundown's existence is confirmed, forcing Bass Reeves to choose between his dedication to the law and moral good. Esau Pierce compares himself to Bass Reeves, but their differences are clear as Pierce's actions are far more heinous. Pierce's distorted view of God challenges Bass Reeves' faith, leading to a dark and confusing outcome for the Old West lawman.
Lawmen: Bass Reeves sees the reappearance of Esau Pierce who sends a chilling message to Bass Reeves about his "monstrous" deeds. The Paramount+ series had deviated from its steady course of fairly accurate historical fiction to expand on the legend of the mythical slave hunter known as Mr. Sundown. Once thought to be a ghost story told by a diabolical former prisoner of Bass's named Ramsey, the existence of Mr. Sundown is essentially confirmed in Lawmen: Bass Reeves episode 6 as the Old West lawman pieces the key clues together.
