The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in the cancellation of four screen industry events, halted production on Netflix’s Clickbait and two major movies and postponed shooting of two TV reality shows.
Meaa members were informed today by the Clickbait producers there would be a two week hiatus due to general health concerns, nothing specific as no one associated with the production has contracted the virus.
Matchbox Pictures and Tony Ayres Productions told the union they will continue to closely monitor the situation and then reappraise to ensure the safety of cast and crew.
Ayres and Christian White co-created the Us-set, eight-episode thriller which began shooting in Melbourne in November, directed by Brad Anderson, Emma Freeman, Ben Young and Laura Belsey. Filming was due to wrap in April.
Filming of Fremantle/Seven Network’s Australia’s Got Talent and ITV Studios Australia’s/Nine Network’s The Voice has been postponed.

Wendell Sailor has revealed that he wants Shane Crawford to win Celebrity Apprentice. National Rugby League player Sailor, who was fired from the Australian television series earlier this month, pledged allegiance to former teammate Jason Coleman when he was eliminated, but has now changed loyalties. Sailor told The Daily Telegraph: "I tipped Jason to win it around when I got fired, but I see a very undermining part of Jason, too. So I reckon Shane Crawford will win it. I just think he's very consistent, he hasn't tried to undermine anyone." Dance choreographer Coleman's popularity on the reality television series has dwindled (more)...

With the grand finale airing tonight, Nine’s end-of-year ratings push has been led five nights a week by the FremantleMedia-produced Celebrity Apprentice. Georgina Pearson visits the set during the show’s six-week Sydney shoot to find out how the series came together.
Celebrity Apprentice is an interesting concept; one that perhaps, on paper, could be deemed a marketing nightmare. For how can you take B-grade Australian celebs and replicate the hugely successful multi-billion dollar Donald Trump-helmed hit?
The crew shoot a challenge episode
For the unfamiliar, the premise is fairly simple: 12 celebrity contestants, each vying for a final prize of $100,000 for their chosen charity. Entrepreneur and founder of wealth management company Yellow Brick Road, Mark Bouris, presides as the ultimate boss. Guided by Acp Magazines’ Deborah Thomas and Bouris’ long time right-hand man Brad Seymour, Bouris puts the contestants through their paces with a series of team challenges...

A number of previously fired Celebrity Apprentice Australia stars have returned to the show for the final challenge. Didier Cohen and Deni Hines joined Jesinta Campbell and Shane Crawford in Team Unity, while Max Markson and Polly Porter teamed up with finalists Julia Morris and Jason Coleman in a task to create an advertising campaign for boss Mark Bouris's wealth management company Yellow Brick Road. Crawford chose Cohen to join him and Campbell, further igniting rumours of a romance between the modelling duo by referring to Cohen as Campbell's "boyfriend". He later called them "lovebirds" and revealed that Cohen is "starstruck" by the former Miss Universe Australia. Cohen jumped to Campbell's defence when she clashed with Hines during the task, saying: "It's the (more)...

Australian Celebrity Apprentice contestant Shane Crawford has joked about enjoying a romance with Pauline Hanson. The former Aussie rules footballer, who is taking part in the reality television series alongside politician Hanson, said that he has more respect for her than most of the other celebrities on the show. Crawford told the Herald Sun: "Everyone thinks the hot romance is between Didier [Cohen] and Jesinta [Campbell], but it's actually me and Pauline. Going into it, Pauline polarised me the most. I thought she was going to be really difficult to work with, but she wasn't that way at all. "I found her the most interesting actually - she's been through a lot. I just wanted to (more)...

Lisa Curry has been fired from Celebrity Apprentice Australia. The former Olympic swimming champion, who was temporarily replaced by Warwick Capper earlier this week when she had a prior engagement, was hauled into the boardroom by boss Mark Bouris after she and her Team Unity colleagues Shane Crawford and Jason Coleman lost a challenge to create a billboard for P&O cruise liners. Curry and Coleman fell out during the task when she accused him of trying to steal her role as project manager, while he said that she needed to give more "direction". In the boardroom, Bouris told Crawford that he was being a "fence sitter" and should have stepped in as the "peacemaker" during Curry and Coleman's dispute. Bouris praised Coleman for his "passion" but added that he had "polarised [his] teammates". (more)...

Wendell Sailor has been fired from Australian Celebrity Apprentice. The former rugby player, who was captain of Team Unity during an aquarium photoboard challenge in Wednesday night's episode, was eliminated after bringing Pauline Hanson and Jason Coleman back into the boardroom with him to face boss Mark Bouris. Sailor told Bouris: "I was the project manager, so that makes me accountable. I'd hate to get fired over not bringing one or two corporates in." The other Team Unity members Jesinta Campbell and Shane Crawford were safe from elimination, but Coleman slammed rival Team Ignite member Max Markson again for stealing a $$5,000 (£3,200) cheque from him. "I don't think anyone from this team should be fired," he told Bouris. "If anyone [should go], (more)...

Australian Celebrity Apprentice's contestants have fallen out over an "unsavoury" incident. Celebrity agent Max Markson, who was moved to Team Ignite with model Didier Cohen for a task at Sydney Aquarium, was labelled "uncharitable" by the members of his rival team after stealing a $$5,000 (£3,200) cheque from them. Team Unity - now consisting of Pauline Hanson, Jesinta Campbell, Wendell Sailor, Jason Coleman and Shane Crawford - were handed the cheque by Woman's Day magazine after choreographer Coleman agreed to do a special dance for them. Markson, however, claimed that he had already been pledged the money by the publication's editor and insisted that the donation belonged to his team. In the boardroom, Coleman told Mark Bouris: "Any attempt to reason with Max was futile. (more)...

Didier Cohen broke down during a task on Australian Celebrity Apprentice last night. The male model, who recently revealed that he used to be a "homeless screw-up", was overcome with emotion when he led Team Unity to victory raising money for homeless charity Youth Off the Streets. Cohen, together with Jason Coleman, Shane Crawford, Max Markson and Wendell Sailor, went head to head with the girls' team in a challenge to create an "art masterpiece". The boys decided to take a black and white photograph of themselves naked, holding hats in front of them. At the auction of the artwork, Cohen cried as he admitted that he was "stressed" as a team captain, but said that it meant "the world" that so many people put bids in for their creations. Later in boss Mark Bouris's boardroom meeting, he (more)...

Celebrity Apprentice Australia's host Mark Bouris has revealed that this year's season will be bigger and better. The Australian businessman, who is the 'boss' of stars such as The Block winner Polly Porter, politician Pauline Hanson, model Jesinta Campbell and sports star Shane Crawford in this year's series, admitted that the last season did not work. Bouris told The Daily Telegraph: "It was a bad timeslot. We were on at 9.30pm and in 2009, it was also a different period in Channel Nine's life, too. "They are a lot better positioned today. I originally went to [producers] Fremantle and said we should do a celebrity version next, and they've been trying to sell that idea into Nine for a long, long time." Although he described the show as "business", Bouris said that handling (more)...

Melbourne, July 02 – A brain surgeon has slammed Australian TV personality Shane Crawford’s TV attempt to break bottle record, calling it dangerous.
Brain surgeon Professor Jeffrey Rosenfield said that breaking 50 sugar glass bottles on Crawford’s head as a Footy Show stunt is not funny.
The stunt was aimed to beat the world record of 50 bottles smashed over a person’s head in the quickest time.
The Crawford stunt horrified Rosenfeld, director of neurosurgery at the Alfred hospital.
“The segment is idiotic. We see patients who come through the emergency department.
