Max has pulled the plug on Our Flag Means Death after two seasons.

Per Deadline, it has been revealed that Our Flag Means Death has been canceled with no third season on the way. This news follows the show wrapping up its second season in October 2023, and its future had since been unclear. The show's fate has also been officially confirmed with a statement from Max, reaffirming how there won't be a third season made.

Everyone's favorite queer pirate rom-com, Our Flag Means Death, is back for a raucous Season 2 if the teaser trailers were any indication: love letters in a bottle, pirate queens, and wedding objections among them. When the Season 1 finale left the rag-tag crew of the Revenge scattered across the high seas after the English Navy attacked the ship, one thing was for certain: the friendships and romances fostered on deck under co-captains Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) and Blackbeard/Edward Teach (Taika Waititi) would never be the same.

John Wick seems to have been the most successful franchise in the genre but ever since Taken became a hit they have been made again and again. Any older actor, even if only with one or two hits on their IMDb page has given this small genre a go (Liam Neeson has made at least a dozen of what is essentially the same film). So it’s perhaps no surprise that smaller, indie films are having a go at this too. With that comes Narco Sub, the story about a guy who has to kill to save his family.
