Myke Towers has barely taken a break in the past couple of years. Since releasing his game-changing, Latin Grammy-nominated album Lyke Mike in 2021, the Puerto Rican artist has been going full steam with back-to-back projects. He dropped the anticipated LP La Vida Es Una in 2023 and then quickly followed it up with a sequel of sorts, called Lveu: Vive la Tuya… No la Mí, a few months later. Now, he’s ready for more.

On Friday, Towers is giving fans La Pantera Negra, his latest project and yet another turn in his ever-growing discography.

It's been a while since we've seen Jessica Alba leading a film - in 2018, she pivoted to focus on her billion-dollar sustainable brand The Honest Company, which she stepped down from as chief creative officer in April. But in her latest movie, "Trigger Warning," Alba not only returns to the screen; she also makes a rare appearance as a Latina lead of an action flick.

In the movie, which was released on Netflix on June 21, Alba plays Parker, a US special forces commando stationed overseas who takes a trip back to her hometown after learning her father has died (which she later discovers was caused by a murder). The "Dark Angel" and "Sin City" actress, who also worked as the film's executive producer, says she made sure every detail behind her Mexican-American character was as authentic as possible.

It's no secret that Latines are major moviegoers and yet remain underrepresented on-screen.

Jay Wheeler and Zhamira Zambrano are expecting a baby girl. On Thursday, Zambrano announced that she and the Puerto Rican singer are expecting their first child in a sweet caption of the couple during a pregnancy shoot.

“Bienvenida,” read the caption, referencing the new single, which translates to “Welcome” in Spanish. “You’re going to change my life/I’ll give you what you ask for,” she sings on the soft ballad. “Don’t take so long, I’m waiting for you/You’re already welcome to change my life.

Becky G has been tapped to join the 2024 Latin American Music Awards ceremony as a host and performer.

The Mexican-American singer will serve as a host for the show, airing April 25 on Univision and its sibling networks, alongside previously announced talents Alejandra Espinoza, an actor and presenter; Carlos Ponce, a singer-songwriters and TV personality; and singer Thalia.

Becky G also will perform her new song, “Mercedes,” during the 2024 Latin AMAs alongside Mexican music artist Oscar Maydon, who is featured on the track. Becky G, who has won a total of eight Latin AMAs over her career, is nominated this year for best collaboration, urban, for “Arranca,” featuring Omega.

The nominees were announced on Monday (January 22), and Maluma leads the list with 14 noms to his name, followed by Featherweight with 13, Grupo Frontera with 10 and Karol G and Feid with nine each.

The Premio Lo Nuestro winners are chosen by fan votes, recognizing 180 artists in 38 categories across the tropical, pop and Mexican music genres.

Nominees are selected through a partnership with Uforia, which takes into account airtime on Univision Radio and digital streaming numbers, as well as evaluations from a committee made up of music and entertainment industry experts, via Billboard.
