The 2023 BFI London Film Festival title “Black Dog” producers are tackling this true-life tale of perseverance, which follows Dowell’s journey from a career-ending accident to becoming the youngest chair in the soccer league.
Written by Libby Adam, “World at His Feet” tells the true story of Dowell, whose promising soccer career was cut short at 17 due to a car accident that left him wheelchair-bound. Gravitas Ventures has acquired North American rights to horror thriller “I’ll Play Mother,” with the Anthem Sports & Entertainment Company set to release the film in September.
The film, which was acquired from Concourse Media, stars Susanne Wuest (“Goodnight Mummy”), Jo Martin and Shubham Saraf (“A Suitable Boy”). Brad Watson (“The Siege”) directs from a screenplay by Libby Adam, based on an original story by Charles Edwards.
A twisted psychological horror about the relentless and unending paranoia of parenthood, “I’ll Play Mother” follows two children who are placed into the care system after the death of their birth mother. At this point, they realize there is something sinister at play.

Concourse will come aboard as sales partner for a five-picture slate, which is fully financed with production already completed on two films and three more slated for this year. Concourse is also helping develop and produce.

A family adventure feature about a dyslexic London school kid sent to live with his grandmother in Scotland has topped the annual Brit List for the top unsigned TV and film projects.
Super Gran, which is from Keri Collins and with London-based producer Brock Media, scored 22 recommendations, four more than the second placed project, Henry Blake and Xiao Tang’s ‘body horror love story’ feature The Golden Radiance of a Beetle. Earning 22 recommendations, Keri Collins’ Super Gran — based on the British children’s TV series (which had a theme song performed by Billy Connelly) — led a total of 13 scripts that made the final list, which this year required a minimum of 12 recommendations for inclusion. For the first time since being established in 2007, the 2013 Brit List — which over the years has included Oscar winners including The King’s Speech, The Danish Girl and The Favourite — combined both film and TV scripts.

The company is an associate producer on Black Sea Film, Nova Film and Goldfinch’s on “The Wheels of Heaven,” starring Mickey Rourke and directed by Edwards.
