As fate would have it, a decade later in 1997, Rhonda, a gaming industry professional in Las Vegas, was hired to coach Shawn as a blackjack dealer for Vegas Vacation (1997).
- On Sunday, April 3, 2005 at WrestleMania XXI, he challenged Mark Calaway (aka "The Undertaker"), looking forward to ending his 12-0 winning streak. During the match Orton injured his shoulder, which caused him to lose his match, making The Undertaker 13-0 at WrestleMania.
- The day after WrestleMania XXI at Monday Night RAW on April 4, 2005, he challenged the new World Heavyweight Champion, Dave Bautista (aka "Batista") for a title shot. During the match he further injured his shoulder and his bicep muscle was torn.
