Caleb Payne is an international award winning South African film and theater actor, and producer.
Caleb won the 2022 Young Artist Academy award as 'Leading Youth Artist in a Feature Film', for his role as 'Jetmir' in the Netflix film 'Good Life', presented at the Directors Guild of America, in Hollywood.
His latest feature is the indie Gravitas Ventures 'The Fix' (2024) by award winning screenwriter and director Kelsey Egan starring Grace van Dien and Daniel Sharman. 'The Fix' premiered at the Chattanooga Film Festival in Tennessee, where it won the 'Dangerous Visions' Prize.
Caleb's next project is the South African feature film, 'Blom'. He will star as lead from a script by award winning screenwriter, Nico Scheepers, written for him. 'Blom' will be directed by Marthinus Basson as his first feature with 52 years in theater spanning 70 plus awards. Caleb's will co-produce this project.
Caleb's international portfolio include the Netflix phenomena 'The Kissing Booth' franchise. He has showcased on streaming platforms with 'Resident Evil' (2022) Netflix, 'Warrior' S1&2 (2018-2020) HBO, 'Lincoln' (2021) History Channel and the award winning South African productions, 'Donkerbos' (2022/3) HBO/Showmax and 'Lioness' (2021) MulthiChoice/M-Net.
Caleb made his theater debut in 2020 playing 'Eric' in the international production of 'Matilda: The Musical', in Manila, The Philippines. His next performance on stage will be late 2025/early 2026 for a play written for him and directed by legendary overlord of South African theater, Marthinus Basson. Caleb's most recent theater performance in 2024 was in the award winning 'The fiercely contested crown of Edward II & Gaveston' also directed by Marthinus Basson. This production also starred award winning actors, Edwin van der Walt and Rolanda Marais. This production was performed in Afrikaans, as Caleb is multilingual.
